Long Tian looked at that scene a bit shocked, not having imagined that there were other people here.
The woman by his side also seemed alarmed. Then, remembering something, she said before disappearing once again.
"Young Master, we'll have a talk later. For now do not let them know your identity, this sword of yours should not exist."
Hearing her say that Long Tian suddenly became embarrassingly aware of the fact that he had forgotten that there was someone observing him all this time.
He would have to have a very long conversation with this overseer of his later.
But for now, he ignored it and decided to help the desperately screaming person.
He flapped his wings and disappeared, rapidly approaching the spider.
As he got near, he could see that there were two women in the air, one being carried unconscious while the other flew with a sacred blood flying squirrel beast soul.
The woman flying saw him coming and shouted again.
"PLEASE, HELP US! WE CAN PAY!"
She looked really desperate, the spider rapidly approaching her.
It was clearly a Super rank beast, which was unexpected. There were already three here, and now one more appeared.
But this did not deter Long Tian, who passed by the woman and went directly for the spider's body.
The spider was walking on the top of the trees, it stood almost 70 meters from the end of its legs to the top of its body. Its long legs looking very spooky.
As Long Tian approached, the spider seemed to detect him and attacked with one of its massive legs.
Absorbing Beast Essence had a very high healing effect, even more so if one gained gene points from it, so his hands were completely healed.
Long Tian simply slashed through the leg, cutting it off, before continuing to the body of the spider.
The spider screeched loudly before a blade penetrated one of its eyes, causing a mess inside its brain.
It then fell down, falling all the way to the ground, causing a loud noise.
Long Tian then landed in one of the treetops, turning back to see the two women flying towards him.
"Thank you very much sir, we will surely repay you!"
The awaken woman said.
She was in a bad shape; she had a massive gash on her arm and her clothes were torn in several places.
She had short black hair and was average in height, around 180cm tall.
But the thing that caught his attention was her left shoulder, where there were two silver lines in a badge.
Long Tian immediately recognized it as a military rank identification, nothing too high, he would only be surprised if he encountered someone with an insignia that was golden in the first sanctuary.
The other woman was in an even worse shape.
Long Tian could see multiple cuts in her body, all reaching very deeply.
The woman was very beautiful and had a great figure, her clothes extremely torn in multiple places, showing a little too much actually. In her shoulder, three silver lines indicated her rank of Captain in the military.
But that was not what concerned Long Tian, it was the extremely weak breath of the woman that caught his attention.
Long Tian lowered his voice and spoke.
"Always glad to help the great warriors of our human race. But your captain seems to be in danger."
He said, making the woman look at her superior and suddenly panic.
Seeing the frantic woman, clearly not knowing what to do, Long Tian had an idea.
Creating a favorable impression seemed like the right thing to do, and he also had recognized the injured woman identity's, and she had been harmed by his clan when they took over the shelter because of him.
"Wait here, I will help her."
Long Tian suddenly said before dropping down flying towards the spider.
He landed on the body of the spider and started opening it, rapidly reaching its heart and taking the 30cm beast essence that looked made out of wood.
He returned to the top of the tree, taking less than 10 seconds to do all this.
"Here, make her consume this beast essence, it will heal her."
Seeing the beast essence in his hands, the woman's eyes widened in shock.
"Thank you so much sir, we will definitely repay you."
She hesitated for a moment before taking the sphere and putting it on her captain's mouth.
The sphere started to shrink, she held it there for thirty seconds before removing it, clearly having known the limit that her captain could take.
The woman's countenance visibly improved, her breath becoming stable and the cuts decreased in size.
"Thank you so much sir, if you don't mind me asking, what is your name. When we return to the alliance we will definitely pay you fairly for this help."
The woman looked extremely relieved, looking at him with deep gratitude.
"You can call me LT, you don't need to concern yourself with payment, as I said before, being from the military, you guys have already paid back by serving humanity."
Long Tian said, making up some bullshit reason to not have to say more.
She looked a bit conflicted before nodding.
"Then I thank you once again sir. I am Sergeant First Class Jiang Xue, and this is captain Qin Ling. If you have any problems or need anything, you can go to shelter 43092, south of here, and ask for our names, we will definitely help you."
Jiang Xue said, bowing to him in gratitude before taking Qin Ling in a princess carry with the beast essence.
She nodded once more at him and flew off, clearly wanting to return as fast as possible to the shelter.
Long Tian sighed.
Qin Ling had been the owner of the shelter before his clan took over. She was a captain in the military and had actually been injured when they forced her to give up the shelter.
All of this because of him.
He would not go out of his way to help people, even if they had been harmed because of him. At least not now when he was still weak.
But killing that spider at least granted him another Supreme Beast Soul, the only regret was the beast essence, but he surmised he would not be having trouble with super beasts anymore, so it was not a complete disaster.
He then started to fly back towards the lion and the gorilla, paying a lot of attention trying to sense the overseer.
He sometimes could sense her, but then the sensation disappeared whenever he looked at her location.
Reaching the bodies of the two super beasts, Long Tian landed and unsummoned the armor and the wing.
"Overseer, we need to talk."
He said while looking towards an empty spot five meters in front of him.
He was focusing all his attention on the Space Art, making sure to not lose her.
Then she appeared out of thin air again. Her charming figure on display as she removed her mask and her hair fell freely.
"You truly can sense me. This does not make sense."
She said while looking at him.
Long Tian smiled but chose to ignore this topic for now.
He then started.
"Overseer, first, could you let me know your name?"
"Are you not afraid of failing the test for talking to me?"
She asked, clearly curious.
"I am capable of talking with you not because I am the Young Master, but because I was capable of sensing you."
He said smugly, a little arrogant at having sensed her despite her attempts at staying hidden.
"Then pray tell me, if you were not the Young Master of the Long Clan, would I still be watching over you, losing my time in the first sanctuary?"
She spoke plainly, thought the last part was clearly a sore spot for her.
Long Tian froze a little, his brain racing for answers.
"Look, you might not have watched over me, but you are clearly interested in the things I have been doing, right?"
Long Tian decided to simply go to the main subject, ignoring her response.
She nodded and started talking.
"Barely entering the first sanctuary, before consuming his first Gene Point and already having a fitness far above 5. Back then, I and the patriarch were only surprised, just expectant towards your future."
"Then, you spent a month wasting time with that group, when you clearly surpassed them in the first few days. Your fitness grew explosively and then stagnated. Almost as if you got all Gene Points from a single beast body."
"Then the attack came…"
She stopped there, clearly remembering something.
Long Tian, whose face was little red, having forgotten all this time that this woman was observing everything, including his interactions with Bian Mei, could swear to have seem her hand tremble a bit.
"After you returned to the sanctuary, you immediately came here to the Ten Rings Mountain Nest and started bulldozing your way through it."
"And then, despite never having even encountered a Super beast, you suddenly had multiple Super Beast Souls, all matching the Sacred Blood beasts you killed."
"Finally, you found the Super Beasts, ignored my warning and when you killed your first super beast, you froze for some reason and then suddenly had a sword that clearly should not exist in this sanctuary."
Having finished, she observed Long Tian for some time, making him not know what to feel.
"Truly, these past few hours have started making me doubt everything I know about the first sanctuary, which mind you, is a lot."
Long Tian did not know what to say. She truly had seen things that he did want others to see.
At least she was from his clan, but he did know if that would matter should they realize he could get beast souls that should not exist.
Long Tian wanted to ask her to not tell anyone about this, but he did not know how to do it. He knew she was far stronger than him, even with the Supreme Beast Souls.
After all, she definitely had maximum fitness and probably had countless Super Beast Souls, and enough battle experience to toy with him however she wanted.
Long Tian stayed silent, looking at her with his mouth open, but words did not come out. He was starting to panic a little when she smirked and spoke again.
"Oh, going by the look in your face, you probably want me to keep silent about this, don't you?"
Having his expression read like this, Long Tian could only nod.
She then sighed a little.
"Sometimes I forget you are only 16…"
She said a little bitterly.
"Alright, here's how things will go. You want me to keep silent about these absurd things that you have been doing, I can do it. The clan has already abandoned me anyway. However, you must first promise me something."
Long Tian was surprised that she actually agreed to basically betray the clan. After all, her mission was to report everything back that she saw him doing.
"Anything, just ask and I will do everything in my power to get it."
Long Tian was sure he would one day stand beyond humanity, so he was not concerned about what she asked, he just needed time to grow.
"Respect."
She said. Long Tian was immediately dumbfounded, having expected anything but such a simple request.
"That's it?"
He asked, a little unconvinced.
She nodded, sighed and decided to just tell him.
"What I want from you is respect towards my opinion. The Clan decided to punish me after you almost died."
"The way they did it? Basically making me your servant. When you ascend, I will become your follower, I understand that among all the punishments that I could receive, this is nowhere near the worst ones. But even then, I am not happy having to serve another person, as you might imagine."
She explained to him. Long Tian was a bit overwhelmed, not having expected to gain a servant out of nowhere.
"So, while after you ascend I will not be able to do anything to you. Right now, I can report everything I saw, and even though you are the Young Master, you would lose at least your freedom should the clan know about this."
"So, what will it be, can you promise it to me?"
She asked once again.
"Of course, no matter what, I will respect your opinion, never making you do anything against your wishes."
He said. But she just continued looking at him.
Feeling a bit confused, Long Tian finally realized what she wanted.
"Igra Long Tian nefastus nar. Never order or force the woman in front of me to do anything that she does not want or wish, never going against her will when ordering her."
As soon as Long Tian finished, he could feel a heavy feeling in his mind again, but it disappeared as sudden as it came.
This was a Spiritual Promise. Something that only those that entered the sanctuary could do. One put their Spiritual Sea on the line. If they broke the promise, their spiritual sea would collapse, resulting in instant death.
She nodded and then smiled.
"Name's Long Rue, by the way."
