Chapter 2 - Darwin: please no

She kicked the book aside and laughed. "Fetch!"

Darwin fought the urge to roll his eyes. He didn't know her and didn't want to.

He bent down, grabbed the book where she'd kicked it, and stood up.

By the time the bell rang, she was already gone.

He was so annoyed, his mind couldn't focus.

Why did people enjoy ruining someone's day?

He walked down the hall to class C, his class for the whole of second year.

He took a deep breath, muttering to himself, "Dear any deity, please don't let there be dicks in this class."

The door opened, and the familiar boots walked past him.

"Amen," she said, her voice dripping with amusement.

He frowned, gritting his teeth. Yep. He absolutely already freaking hates this class, and he hadn't even stepped in."

He walked into the room, and there she was again, spraying something on the teacher's desk.

She gave him a dark glance, he quickly looked anywhere but at her.

The class seemed normal, everyone busy with their own thing. He took that as his cue to claim his seat in the back, where he could look out the window at the trees.

He pulled the chair out and sat down, unpacking his bag to organize his books and stationery.

Then the teacher walked in.

"Okay, welcome students to a new year," he said in a voice that suggested he wasn't excited about it. "I hope we can tolerate each other for as long as this year lasts."

The almost bald man sighed, but his voice trailed off when the girl from earlier walked back into the class, a smirk on her face.

"Oh no," the teacher groaned under his breath. Even he knew she was trouble.
