Chapter 6 - No escaping this fire

DALA.

He yanked my hair, his grip unyielding and tight around dark locks that I feared every strand of hair would be uprooted from my scalp in no time-this jerk.

Now, I was slammed against his broad chest, though trapped between him and a wall. "Are you crazy?!" I shrieked annoyedly, looking up at those honey-brown eyes that seemed to disarm me despite the incredible amount of anger they held.

Unsurprisingly, I would never be able to break free, except he was willing to let me go. "I will scream if you don't let me go right now!"

He flashed me a lopsided smile that displayed the dimple on his left cheek. "By all means, have at it," Knox gestured with his other hand. "I hope someone comes to rescue vou from me."

My stomach curled. I hated him so much, all three of them. Yet, my body reacted in the wrong way to this proximity.

He was too close, his strong masculine scent filling my nose, and I almost melted into him. I needed to snap out of this.

Angling my head to meet his gaze again, my cheeks burned red, and I quickly averted. This mate bond was a dog from hell.

"I am sorry..." I mumbled incoherently. Anything to ensure Knox left. He glared at me like a predator would its prey. "I am sorry, so just let me go! Lady Arya needs me back as soon as possible."

He inched closer, a mischievous glint in his eyes and the lingering ghost of a smile on his plum lips, but before he could say anything more, a screeching sound had our attention.

Immediately, Knox jerked away, his brows furrowing before he could even turn, like he already recognized what the noise was from.

It wasn't until he pulled away I released a breath I hadn't realized I was holding. Suddenly, an emptiness filled me- more overwhelming than I expressed, almost as though I wanted him closer than away.

That couldn't be true. At all. Glancing in the direction of the sound, it's a middle-aged woman in a wheelchair. I immediately took her to be the Alpha's Luna, and the triplet's mother.

Lady Arya had told me about her, mentioning only nice things despite the natural animosity between two women sharing the same husband. I could tell that the triplets had a lot to thank their mother for - visually. She was stunning, glowing like a movie edit in a 90s kind of way, and I couldn't help but stare.

I smiled like a fool until I watched Knox go to his mother; his next move had my mouth hanging open.

This beast of no nation crouched and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. He was ever so gentle, as if he wasn't the same person trying to yank my hair seconds ago.

"Where are you headed?" He softly asked her until we both realized her attention was on me, and I had frozen in place.

"Hey there, do you need something?" She inquired in the silkiest tone.

Prying my teeth from my chapped lips, I propelled closer, my mind spinning out of balance like a top.

If the Alpha had this woman, then why did he marry again? No offense to Lady Arya, but I just set eyes on the most gorgeous person anyone could ever behold.

"N-no. No, ma'am." I shook my head, "I was just leaving."

"You are Arya's maid, aren't you?" Her almond eyes squinted as her lips stretched into a friendly smile. "Dala, was it?"

She knows my name! "Yes, ma'am." I beamed while Knox threw me the dirtiest look that rivaled one you would bestow upon someone trying to seduce your father.

"I hope you aren't having a hard time settling in?"

"No. I am not." Why was I being so terse? I should say something more, right?

"I see where Knox got his looks. You are so... gorgeous."

Wait what? Did I just say that out loud? I expected to be reprimanded, doing my best not to look at Knox. I was pretty sure I would be dead a few minutes after this interaction.

But rather than take offense, she laughed heartily. Heartily, like clasping palms, small coughs and all. "You're one funny girl, Dala.

Thank you. Do you want-"

"Let's get you to the garden, Mom"" Knox cut in, his eyes shooting arrows at me. "We have to talk."

And that was my cue to leave while Knox maneuvered the wheelchair without a single

word to me; he seemed rather engrossed in his talk with his mother. Something about someone returning.

I returned to my room, since Lady Arya, who was my initial excuse, wasn't even in this mansion and wouldn't be back until a few more hours.

The lavish furnishings seemed to mock me, way different from the humble life I'd left

behind.

My mind refocused on the task at hand-setting up my streaming equipment. I'd been absent from the online world for too long, and my fans were growing restless. I unzipped a suitcase, revealing an assortment of lingerie and cameras. My hands hesitated, unsure where to begin.

Just as I started to unpack, a knock at the door broke the silence. I froze, my heart skipping a beat. "Come in," I called out, trying to sound calm.

The door creaked open, and a stern-faced maid entered. "You're needed," she said curtly. "The young alphas are looking for you."

My stomach twisted into knots. The alphas.

Trouble. I knew it. But disobeying them would be even more treacherous. I took a deep

breath, steeling myself for what lay ahead.

"I'll be right there," | said, forcing a neutral tone.

Minutes later, I entered the room and was met with an intimidating sight- the three brothers, Knox, Kael and Kai, each with an air of dominance and raw masculinity.

I needed to get out of here!

I hesitated, my eyes darting between the three men. Knox was the first to move. He stepped closer, his hand wrapping around my wrist before I could turn to leave.

I almost couldn't move a muscle. I could perceive it in the air— the unavoidable smell of sex. Of desire, and it pooled me all the way to my guts like liquid fire.

"Where do you think you're going, Omega?" Knox growled. "You know why you're here."

Kai smirked, his gaze taking over my body.

"She's ours, Knox. She won't run."

Knox's grip tightened as he pulled me towards him, his other hand reaching out to cup my cheek.

His thumb brushed against her bottom lip, sending a jolt of heat through me. "You're ours, Omega. You've known it since the moment you laid eyes on us." His voice was a low growl, his eyes burning into mine. "Let's pick it right where we left off."

I can't escape.

I don't want to.
