After that small disturbance, the hundred or so participants stepped forward, crossing the barrier, eager to receive their beginner gifts.
Unfortunately, not everyone was lucky enough to obtain those mystical abilities.
Out of the first 30 beginner Divers, only 3 managed to receive any gifts and each of them only received one. Still, even that was enough to make them feel exhilarated.
"Sigh… this batch is so unlucky. Only 1 out of every 10? That's just ridiculous," a parent in the crowd muttered in disappointment.
"Yeah, my son didn't get anything either," another man with a thick beard added.
"Husband… do you think that 'Bringer of Misfortune' could be the reason?" a woman asked seriously.
"Yes, you're right, wife," the bearded man growled. "That cursed bastard should never have been allowed here. Our son's failure is all his fault."
Not only were the participants' relatives growing tense, but the participants themselves were growing more and more anxious after witnessing the odds.
They all began to glance toward Igor with hatred in their eyes.
But Igor paid them no mind. He moved forward in his wheelchair, completely indifferent, as if they didn't exist at all.
"Hey look! It's finally the four Young Masters' turn!"
Someone from the crowd shouted, drawing the attention of Igor and the others to the front.
Under everyone's watchful gaze, Adrian—the tall, confident Young Master—stepped forward with a calm smile. His expression radiated self-confidence, and he seemed to enjoy the applause and cheers erupting from the spectators.
He gave a subtle wink toward Aluna in the line before placing his hand on the transparent eggshell.
The moment his palm touched it, a sudden surge of energy pulsed from the egg. And then, the smaller colored eggs inside began to spin rapidly.
"Ooh! It's happening. Young Master Adrian is definitely going to get a Yellow ability egg!" someone exclaimed excitedly.
"Hmph… Just Yellow? He'll get a red one for sure," another sneered.
Inside, there were four known types of ability eggs: Blue, Yellow, Purple, and Red.
Each colour represented a specific rarity: Blue was Common, Yellow was Rare, Purple was Epic, and Red was Legendary.
However there were rumours that there used to be m a 5th kind. It was Black eggs that contained forbidden abilities.
But those were now just myths, long buried in history.
Unbothered by the crowd's excited chatter, the spinning continued for several moments before coming to a sudden stop.
Then, to everyone's astonishment, a single Purple egg floated out of the shell, hovering right before Adrian's face.
His smile widened instantly. But if one looked closely, a faint flicker of disappointment passed through his eyes. It wasn't a Red egg. He couldn't obtain a Legendary ability.
Now, anxiety crept in. What if Lucius or one of the two girls received a Legendary Talent? That would humiliate him completely.
As for Igor? He didn't even cross Adrian's mind. To him, Igor wasn't even worth being acknowledged as a rival.
Next up was Lucius.
He went forward and flashed a confident smile at Daisy, clearly hoping to impress her.
But internally, he was anything but calm.
He stopped and placed his hand on the Eggshell.
It pulsed again, and the eggs inside began to spin once more.
After a few tense seconds, a yellow egg materialized in front of him.
This meant Lucius would receive only a Rare ability once he entered the Dream World.
He was slightly disappointed but forced a smile onto his face.
"At least I got something," he told himself. "That cripple won't even receive an ability."
Behind him, the waiting participants and the crowd clapped, though the applause was noticeably less enthusiastic than what Adrian had received.
Standing beside him, Adrian let out a quiet sigh of relief. For a moment, he had worried that Lucius might surpass him. Thankfully, that didn't happen.
The two young masters turned their attention forward.
Next were the Heiresses—Aluna and Daisy.
As soon as Aluna, the cold beauty, placed her hand on the eggshell, a blinding light erupted from it, bathing the area in a crimson glow.
Everyone stood frozen in awe.
"Could it be… what I think it is?" one participant murmured, his eyes wide as if witnessing a miracle.
"Yes… it's happening!"
"A Legendary Egg!"
With a wave of intense red mist, a vibrant red egg materialized in front of Aluna.
A Legendary Egg—the kind that granted one of the rarest abilities in the Dream World. Only one in every ten thousand participants ever received one.
"Ooh, ooh… Princess Aluna got a Legendary Egg! She's going to be unstoppable in the future!"
"Yeah, just as expected from our goddess. She's going to be a powerful force in the future."
"Goddess Aluna is mighty!"
Aluna calmly picked up the red egg, which dissolved into her body the moment she touched it.
Then, she turned her gaze toward a particular figure in the crowd. Her cold eyes were filled with condescension and silent pride as she stared at the man.
The man simply smirked in return.
After her came Daisy, full of nervous energy and pressure. Unlike Aluna, she struggled to hide her emotions.
With trembling hands, she reached toward the eggshell to receive hers.
Just then, a cheer caught her attention.
"You can do it, Daisy!"
It was Igor's voice, encouraging her with a gentle smile.
In the past, that same smile had made her heart flutter.
Now, she felt only disgust and scorn.
Snorting softly, she turned her focus back to the glowing transparent eggshell.
Still, that brief interaction somehow helped her nerves settle a bit.
She waited quietly, her wide eyes reflecting the chaotic spin of the eggs inside the shell.
Whoosh!
Suddenly, a yellow egg shot out of the shell and hovered before her.
Just as disappointment began to show in her expression, something astonishing happened next.
Whoosh!
Another egg flew out, and this one was purple in color.
In total, Daisy had received two ability eggs: one Rare, and one Epic.
The crowd fell silent in shock, before gasps and murmurs of astonishment rippled through them.
"Oh man… am I seeing this right? Someone actually got two ability eggs?" a participant muttered in disbelief.
"Someone pinch me, please."
"Haha… No need. We're all seeing it too," another replied with a chuckle.
"Damn! A Legendary egg is one thing, but two different eggs? That's insane! How many have ever pulled that off?"
"Only a handful of people, ever… Meanwhile, the rest of us get nothing. This isn't fair at all," someone grumbled.
Daisy beamed with joy and quickly scooped up the eggs, afraid someone might try to snatch them. Although, it was impossible to snatch them.
