Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 - Poison

Chapter 8 - Poison

"Eight Gates Release—Third Gate, Gate of Life—Open!"

With a silent command, Nathan's entire body flushed red as blood surged through his veins. His speed and attack power surged dramatically.

Seeing Nathan's body shift, Hannyabal swallowed hard and gripped his trident tightly, preparing for the brutal fight ahead.

"Game over—Hidden Lotus!" Nathan roared.

In the next instant, Hannyabal felt a blur pass before his eyes. Before he could react, Nathan's fist shot upward—

Smashing straight into his chin.

Hannyabal flew into the air like a rocket, his face twisted grotesquely from the blow.

But it didn't end there.

As Hannyabal soared into the air, Nathan bent his knees and launched himself skyward after him.

He reached Hannyabal mid-air—then brought his foot down in a devastating kick.

Boom!

Hannyabal was driven straight into the ground, smashing a crater into the floor as the stone cracked outward from the impact.

Ding! Congratulations, Host has defeated the enemy. You have received 15,000 Reputation Points.

Hearing the system's announcement, Nathan knew—Hannyabal wasn't getting back up.

In the surveillance room, Magellan watched in silence. Then he let out a heavy sigh, stood up, and straightened his black suit before walking out of his office.

With Hannyabal down, the jailers on Level Three fell into complete disarray.

Many were beaten to death by the raging, desperate prisoners.

But just as many inmates also lost their lives in the bloody conflict that tore through the halls.

Now, as if injected with adrenaline, the riotous prisoners surged into Level Four—Blazing Hell.

This level was the most crucial in the entire prison. Magellan's office was here, as well as the kitchen and food storage. The ambient temperature was unbearably high.

At its center was a massive blood pool, like a giant iron cauldron, bubbling with boiling flames.

But when Nathan reached the entrance to Level Four—he froze.

Countless inmates lay motionless on the floor ahead.

The air was filled with thick, deep-purple gas.

Realizing what was happening, Nathan immediately retreated to Level Three.

There was no doubt—this was the power of Magellan's Devil Fruit.

The Doku Doku no Mi, a Paramecia-type fruit, allowed Magellan to produce deadly purple poison from any part of his body. Sweat, saliva, breath—even sighs—could become lethal gas.

His venom could paralyze nerves, cause immense pain, hallucinations, or even death. It was so potent, it could even dissolve stone.

And only Magellan himself held the antidote.

However, the downside of using his abilities too frequently was... uncontrollable diarrhea.

Still, it was this very power that allowed Magellan to dominate Impel Down and suppress even legendary pirates.

"Hahaha! Kid, I don't care how strong your attacks are. There's no way you can overcome my poison!"

Magellan laughed triumphantly as he wreaked havoc on Level Four.

Seeing Nathan flee, he couldn't help but sneer.

Back on Level Three, Nathan wasted no time.

He opened the system shop and began frantically searching.

There was no question—Magellan's power stemmed entirely from his poisonous abilities. If Nathan wanted to defeat him, he needed a character capable of resisting or neutralizing poison.

Might Guy was clearly not enough.

The first person who came to mind was Hanzo of the Salamander, the "Demi-God" of the ninja world.

Hanzo could emit toxic gas simply by breathing and wore a respirator to avoid poisoning others. Nathan thought this ability might work.

But then he remembered—Magellan's poison could also invade through direct contact, not just inhalation.

Hanzo wouldn't be immune either.

At that moment, he heard footsteps approaching from the stairwell.

Someone had returned from Level Four—

And the fact that only one person had made it back alive made it clear who it was.

Nathan tensed.

But then—his eyes lit up.

He'd just spotted a new character in the system shop!

A member of the Akatsuki, master of puppets—Sasori.

Unlike living beings, puppets were unaffected by poison. Even if exposed, there was no biological system to be harmed.

But the exchange cost: 50,000 Reputation Points.

Nathan cursed under his breath. "Damn scammer system…"

He didn't have enough.

Still, it sparked an idea.

There were other puppet masters in the Naruto universe.

He scrolled again and saw a familiar name:

[Chiyo] (Character Card) – Cost: 30,000 Reputation Points.

Perhaps due to her old age, her card cost less than Sasori's.

Nathan checked his balance. After defeating Saldeath, Sadie, and Hannyabal, he had just over 30,000 Reputation Points.

Without hesitation, he made the purchase.

Ding! Successfully exchanged [Chiyo] (Character Card). 30,000 Reputation Points deducted.

As the system confirmed his choice, Magellan stepped onto Level Three.

"Well now… still planning to resist?"

Magellan sneered as he approached, deep-purple gas swirling around his entire body.

"You're going to die a very painful death…"
