Several days after the incident, the scene shows a boy heading to a house. His name is Elzan. A determined boy with a highly positive reputation in the village. He knocks on the door and waits for a response. Soon, his grandmother opens the door. Her name is Gloria. Only the two of them live in the house. Gloria has been taking care of Elzan since he was little.
Gloria: "Oh, you're back… What took you so long, Elzan?"
Elzan: "Sorry Grandma… I couldn't find the veggies you asked for. They're quite rare nowadays. I wonder why…"
Gloria: "Oh dear… ever since the revenant came to the west village, people don't dare to go out again. Many farmers are afraid that they might come across him."
Elzan: "The revenant? Pff… I'm not afraid of him… I don't understand why everyone is making a big deal about it."
Gloria: "Don't say such thing… and you should be afraid…We still don't know his true intention."
Elzan: "Alright, alright…"
Soon, they heard children's laughter and footsteps getting closer to their house.
Elzan: "Oh, looks like the kids are here, grandma. It's storytelling time!"
The children came inside the house once a week to listen to stories told by Elzan's grandmother.
Kid 1: "Gran Gran… What story are you gonna tell us today?"
Grandma: "Anything you want, dear… Just name it and I'll tell the most exhilarating story you've never heard of…"
Kid 2: "Oh, oh! Tell us a story about the 3 little piggies."
Kid 3: "No, it's a boring story… What about the lost treasure?"
Kid 4: "She already told us that one a few weeks ago… I wanna listen to a story about a handsome prince." (yes, that kid is a girl)
Kid 2: "That sounds even more boring than mine… No one wants to listen to a story about a prince…"
Kid 5: "Yeah, we wanna hear something more intent…"
The children begin to argue with one another.
Elzan: "Hey, Grandma, why don't you tell a story about Princess Calista? I mean… She was once a real princess of none other than… Kingdom of Elystra…"
He winks his right eye at his grandmother. However, she was speechless and shocked by what he had just said. In the meantime, the children remain silent as they have stopped their argument. Elzan's grandmother pulls him by his arm as she whispers.
Gloria: "What do you think you're doing?! You know it could cause trouble.."
Elzan: "Why not, Grandma? I mean… our house is literally located far enough from the village that no one will ever know…"
Kid 3: "A story about a princess that existed? Here?"
Kid 1: "I didn't know there was a princess…"
Kid 4: "Is she pretty?"
Kid 5: "We'd like to hear about her…"
All the children began to request as they're willing to know the story about Princess Calista. The grandmother sighs as she doesn't want to deny the kids' requests.
Gloria: "Alright, alright… fine…"
She looks at her grandson in despair. She sighs once again as she sits down on a wooden chair. The children sit on a carpet as they're paying attention.
Gloria: "A hundred years ago… There was a princess called Calista. She is known for her kindness and independent behavior. She has three younger siblings; one is a girl, and two are twin boys. Her father is King Valrian, and her mother is Queen Klareth. They were the light for Elystra. The princess is a cheerful person. My mother used to say that she's always smiling, and she likes to bring joy towards the people of Elystra. People started to call her the Happy Princess. Everybody loves her. She gives food to those who can't afford it, doesn't turn her back when someone needs help, and always keeps her people full of joy, just like her father."
Kid 3: "Woahh, is she pretty?"
Gloria: "Well, my mother said she's the purest. A person doesn't need to have a pretty face to be the purest son, remember that."
Kid 4: "So she's more than just pretty… I wanna be like her…"
Gloria: "Of course you can, dear… She was the same age as you."
Kid 2: "Really? She was the same age as us?"
The grandma nods.
Kid 1: "But… where did the princess go? Is she still alive?"
The grandma takes a deep breath before answering the following question.
Gloria: "Well… That's the unfortunate, dears, because after the invasion of King Kronox, no one knows what happened to the royal family. The incident was kept as a secret, and those who knew about it were executed."
The children gasped as they were frightened. The grandma remains silent as she felt sorrow for the princess and the royal family.
Kid 5: "So… King Kronox… Our king… stole the throne?"
Kid 2: "No wonder why we all hate him."
Kid 3: "He does not deserve to be called our king. That name only belongs to the royal family!"
The kids began to rage. As the grandma and Elzan tries to calm down the kids, they heard the sounds of horses marching and getting closer to their house…
