Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5

"Whoa, so sassy." A teasing smirk formed at the corner of his mouth as he took a small step forward, mischief glowing in his eyes—it was obvious he was planning something.

"Why… are you coming a little closer?" Rein asked, a hint of panic in her voice. The glint of mischief in his eyes made her wonder what he was going to do to her. " Is he going to force himself on me? I'm not ready. Not that I'll ever be ready to have sex with him,"she thought.

So many thoughts ran through Rein's head within a few second.

Seeing her paranoid expression stirred feelings in Rohan heart that he didn't understand. Taking another step, he glanced at the plate. "I missed you, that's why," He said in a teasing voice. Adjusting the chair then sat down with a smug face. "Mind if I join you?"

"No. I won't be able to eat with you here," Rein said, looking straight into his eyes. Her voice was firm, tinged with irritation. "Ugh, thank God. I thought he was going to force himself on me," she said internally, releasing the breath she had been holding.

"You don't have a choice, you know?" Rohan said, a smirk forming on his lips.

"Goth!" he called out.

Goth was outside guarding the door. "I don't trust that breeder. What if she does something to the master?" he thought, his head pressed against the door as he tried to spy on the conversation going on inside.

Until—

"Goth."

Hearing his name being called, blood left his face instantly. "Did she snitch on me?" he asked, looking at Gabe for help, but instead, he received a pitying glance from him.

"I warned you before. Go—don't keep the master waiting," Gabe said.

Holding his breath, he turned the handle of the door, which created a screeching sound, then took a step into the room. Noticing the atmosphere wasn't a bad one, he let out the breath he had been holding.

Taking a brave step, he walked up to Rohan. "Sir, you called me. Do you need anything from this servant?"

"Tell the maid to get me my dinner. I'm planning on eating here," Rohan ordered. After he was done, he waved his hand. "You can go."

Hearing he could leave, Goth turned his back and took a quick step, happy to leave the room quickly.

"Goth," Rohan called out again.

"Si.r?" Stammered at being called again.

Rohan looked straight into his eyes.

"Nothing. You can go."

"Okay, sir." He then walked out quickly, the door clicking shut behind him.

Seeing Goth, Gabe quickly searched his body, looking for any injury. "Did he punish you?" he asked, concerned.

"No, he only asked for the maid to serve him dinner," Goth said, trying to calm Gabe.

"Ugh, Thank God i thought you were punished. Go quickly before the master gets angry," he said, pushing Goth from behind to hurry him up.

"Why don't you ever listen? I don't want to have dinner with you!" Rein said, glaring at him as she stood with her hands folded around her chest, expressing how annoyed she was.

"You brought me here to this unknown palace," she snapped.

"Despite how many times I told you I didn't want to follow you. I didn't want to be a breeder for you or your brothers." Her hands clenched as she tried to control her emotions.

"Now I'm telling you I don't want to eat with you—I just want to be alone, yet you still don't listen!" Her face was red with anger as she spewed the emotions she'd been holding back. After Rein released her pent-up frustration, she looked at him and steadily stepped back a little, in case Rohan was planning to retaliate.

"Why are you so cute?" Rohan said, accompanied by a soft chuckle. His lips curled, revealing his peerless white teeth. His eyes sparkled with mischief.

"Why… are you laughing?" Rein asked, a little perplexed by the sudden laughter.

"Nothing," Rohan said, surprised by his own reaction. The way Rein blew up was like a kitten trying to be fierce in his eyes. But he wasn't angry about being scolded. Instead, he felt his stomach churn at the expression she made—the way her face turned red, her aggressive look, and how she cutely shifted back. He couldn't lie, he was starting to feel something he had never felt before, and he didn't know what it was.

"Try to laugh again. Genuinely—it's beautiful." She couldn't deny she was attracted to his laughter. Not the mocking one, but the genuine one. Rein could see the sparkle in his eyes.

"You're complimenting me? I'm shocked," Rohan said with a teasing grin. "Should I smile again?" he asked, looking at her with a playful glint.

"Who cares whether you smile or not?" Rein said. "Why did I compliment him even?" Mentally Scolding herself

A gentle knock could be heard.

"Can I enter, Sir Rohan? I'm with your food."

"Mm, you can enter," Rohan said simply, not bothering to look.

A soft click followed, then the sound of a wheeled cart being dragged across the floor. The maid arranged a variety of dishes on the table with the cutlery. Done with the serving, she bowed.

"Sir Rohan, First Master said I should tell you that when you're done with dinner, he's waiting for you downstairs." Facing Rein, she added, "The First Master also said you should get ready for your appointment with the doctor." With that, she turned and left, the wheels echoing in the quiet room, followed by the click of the closing door.

"It's such a pity. I wanted to have some more time with you," he said, looking at Rein with a sad gaze like he was reluctant to leave her.

"I don't care. Eat your food and leave," Rein said irritatedly.

"Okay… won't you join me? Let me feed you." He picked up a knife and fork, cutting the steak that had been served, then pointed a piece toward her mouth. "Ahh," he said, indicating to her to open up.

Rein gave him a stinky glare.

"If you don't open your mouth, I won't leave," he added with a smirk.

Hearing this, Rein sighed and opened her mouth, taking in the food. "Eat fast and leave," she said, eyeing him with urgency.

"You're not eating yours?" he asked, noticing Rein hadn't touched her food.

"I don't eat cold food," she replied. Rein wasn't fond of food that had been left open too long—and her appetite was already gone.

A few minutes later—

"I'm done," Rohan said, dropping his utensils. He adjusted the chair before standing up. "I'll tell the maid to come and clear the table," he added, gesturing toward the dishes, then walked to the door.

"Don't miss me, temptress," he said, followed by the screech of the door closing behind him.

"Ahh, finally," Rein said, standing up from the chair. "I'm alone." She took a step to her bed and laid down.

But her brief moment of rest didn't last long before a soft knock echoed through the room.

"Who is there?" Rein asked, curious about the unexpected visitor.

"It's me—the doctor."

"Ahh, how could I be so stupid," Rein muttered, berating herself for forgetting that the maid mentioned her appointment earlier.

"You can enter."

A soft click followed as the doctor stepped in.

"Good day, ma—Princess Mireya! Why are you the one here ?" the doctor asked, his face filled with suprise, panic and

concern.

"Do I know you?" Rein asked, confused about who he was—and how he knew the original owner's name.
