Lunchtime Encounter
Throughout the second day, Duru tries to focus on her classes, hoping to cross paths with Melis again. Her thoughts often drift to Melis' smile and that soothing voice. When the lunch bell rings, her heart starts to race. Could Melis be waiting for her?
As she moves through the crowded cafeteria, her eyes search for Melis. She spots a few familiar faces but Melis isn't in sight yet. Just as she starts to lose hope, she spots Melis sitting alone at a table in the corner. Once again, she's wearing her striking style: a black t-shirt and ripped jeans. Her hair is slightly tousled, and a thoughtful expression is on her face.
Duru hesitantly approaches Melis' table.
Duru (nervously): "Hi... Is this seat taken?"
Melis (looking up, a slight smile appearing as she sees Duru): "Hi! No, it's free. You can sit." (Her voice still carries that soothing, subtly alluring tone.)
As Duru pulls out the chair and sits down, she feels an odd sense of excitement. Being close to Melis makes her both happy and a little nervous.
Duru: "Thanks for texting me on Instagram."
Melis (shrugging lightly): "No problem. You're new here, I didn't want you to be alone." (Her eyes gently scan Duru.)
Common Ground and Differences
They sit in silence for a while. While Duru is intrigued by Melis' mysterious, cool demeanor, Melis seems to find Duru's naive and excited nature interesting as well.
Duru (curiously): "You... seem really into music. That Metallica t-shirt..."
Melis (smiling slightly): "Yeah, it's an old passion. What kind of music do you listen to?"
Duru: "I... mostly listen to pop and indie."
Melis (understandingly): "Different tastes... but music has a universal language, right?" (A meaningful glint appears in her eyes.)
As their conversation progresses, despite their differing music tastes, they realize they both value art and expression. Melis mentions the school's music club and invites Duru to join. Duru is thrilled by the invitation.
An Unexpected Invitation
Throughout lunch, their conversation continues pleasantly. Melis gives Duru some practical tips about the school and offers to help her out. Duru is impressed by Melis' warmth and sincerity.
As the bell rings, Melis suddenly turns to Duru and makes an unexpected suggestion.
Melis (casually): "Actually... after school today, I'm practicing with a friend. If you want, you can come watch. You might get bored, though..."
Duru's heart races with excitement. This is a great opportunity to spend more time with Melis.
Duru (eyes sparkling): "Really? I'd love to!"
Melis (smiling pleased): "Great. Then let's meet in the school's backyard after class."
At that moment, Duru feels like the happiest person in the world. The second day has replaced the nervousness from the first with a sweet sense of excitement and curiosity. This unexpected closeness with Melis will bring a new dimension to Duru's school life.
