Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

"Kazuki, be careful!"

Professor Oak, still paralyzed from the shock, hurriedly pushed himself halfway up as he watched Kazuki reach out to pet Pikachu.

"Pika~ka~!"

As expected, Pikachu let loose a jolt of electricity.

But unlike Professor Oak, Kazuki didn't collapse—he remained standing as if nothing had happened.

"Pika?"

"No paralysis?"

Both Pikachu and Professor Oak wore identical stunned expressions.

"Well, Pikachu, how about it? Ready to acknowledge me now?"

"Pikachu~~"

Of course, Pikachu, the proud Electric King, wasn't one to yield so easily. It immediately amped up its power and fired off a second electric shock.

This time, Kazuki did feel some tingling numbness,

But thanks to the 50% boost to electric resistance he'd received earlier,

he still stood tall before Pikachu.

In fact, he even reached out and picked Pikachu up.

"Hey, Kazuki, don't!"

Professor Oak, who had just scrambled into a corner from the previous shock, stood up in fright at such a reckless move.

"Pika~ka~!"

Electric sparks still danced on Pikachu's cheeks, but it didn't release another jolt.

It seemed to be running low on energy.

"Pikachu, does this mean I've earned your respect?"

"If you're willing to come with me…"

"You won't have to stay cooped up inside a Poké Ball. You can travel the world at my side and see all the beauty it has to offer!"

Kazuki's physical toughness had already made an impression on Pikachu.

Now, armed with knowledge of the story, Kazuki perfectly appealed to what tugged at Pikachu's heartstrings.

Pikachu instantly softened up, rubbing its head affectionately against Kazuki in approval.

First Pokémon Acquired: Pikachu has joined the team!

"Oh my goodness! Kazuki, you actually got Pikachu to accept you just like that? That's incredible!"

Professor Oak stared at Kazuki in disbelief, still recovering from the numerous times he'd been zapped.

"And your constitution—how are you still standing after two electric shocks? That's insane!"

He patted Kazuki's sturdy shoulders, but upon seeing Pikachu in his arms, he quickly pulled his hand back.

"Hahaha, you flatter me, Professor Oak. I just train a lot with Delia on the regular," Kazuki replied casually. ( iykyk )

"That's great! A strong physique will save you a lot of trouble when traveling in the wild! I have no doubt you'll make a fine Trainer!"

With an approving smile, Professor Oak handed over a Pokédex and a set of Poké Balls.

After accepting them, Kazuki exchanged a few parting words and left the lab.

Once outside, he immediately checked Pikachu's stats to plan for future training.

[Potential: Champion Tier]

[Ability: Static – 30% chance to paralyze when hit by contact moves]

[Hidden Ability: Fifty-Fifty – Regardless of the opponent's strength, there's always a chance to force a draw!]

[Moves: Quick Attack, Thunder Shock]

That hidden ability immediately brought a grin to Kazuki's face.

If it activated against powerful high-level Pokémon, it'd be amazing.

Though against weaker ones, it might backfire—still, the potential being Champion Tier was more than enough to delight him.

For a new Trainer, it was rare to get a starter Pokémon with Champion-level potential. Most were Gym-tier at best, and even Quasi Elite Four-level were uncommon.

After all, starters were mainly meant to help Trainers get through the early stages—ease of training and utility were top priorities.

But with the script in hand, this Champion-tier Pikachu was as good as guaranteed for Kazuki.

Just then, he also received the mission reward: Special Grade Light Ball,

bringing him one step closer to dominating the Pokémon world. Kazuki's spirits soared.

"Pika! Pika!"

Sensing Kazuki's excitement, Pikachu hopped up onto his shoulder and chirped with joy.

[Ding! You and Pikachu are now in sync. Perfect Goal Mission Triggered: Win the Indigo League Championship with Pikachu!]

[Mission Rewards:

- Thunder Stone – Evolution item

- Hidden Ability Change Potion – Used to modify hidden abilities

- Advanced Rare Candies ×5 – Instantly raises the level of any Pokémon below level 70 by one!]

These rewards were extremely valuable.

The Thunder Stone could be used to evolve Pikachu,

but keeping it in its current form might be more fitting for the perfect story.

Kazuki decided to set the Thunder Stone aside for another use.

Among the three rewards, what Kazuki valued most was the Hidden Ability Change Potion.

While it wouldn't enhance power directly, it could be used to tweak Pikachu's "Fifty-Fifty" ability—

specifically, to remove the "weaker against weak opponents" drawback.

With a stable baseline and limitless ceiling, Pikachu might one day even challenge Legendaries!

With such rewards in hand, Kazuki felt more confident than ever in the path ahead.

Without delay, he and Pikachu set off from the research lab together.

Just as they stepped out, Kazuki saw Delia waiting for him, all dolled up for his departure.

Her skin was fair and delicate, her lips tinted a soft red, and she'd put on light makeup just for him.

A pink jacket paired with a pure white form-fitting top that accentuated her full curves.

Below, she wore a tight blue miniskirt that barely covered the plump hips Kazuki had kneaded countless times.

Finishing the look were her shapely legs and a pair of high heels.

She looked nothing like a 28.9-year-old young widow.

The moment she spotted Kazuki, Delia waved excitedly...
