Chapter 4 - Chapter Four: It's A Crystal!

Mrs Lassi gazed up at the witness standing in the witness box, her eyes a mix of uncertainty.

Her eyes scanned the courtroom, she spotted the witness's daughter sitting in the front bench, looking confused.

Miss Lassi's confusion deepened.

Judge Hemson adjusted his glasses and scribbled some notes on the case.

Miss Lassi, however, was beyond perplexed.

She wished the trial would end soon; this career was driving her crazy.

"Mister Shura, do you have any defence?" Judge Hemson asked.

Mister Shura, a reputable lawyer, was known for his impressive track record.

Mrs Lassi felt uneasy about defending this case against Shura; He was bound to win, but something didn't feel right.

She possessed strong evidence, one that could enable her win the case; but presenting it felt premature, like it should be kept safe.

But she knew it was enough to change the whole situation...

'But then...'

The other party's voices became clearer and Mrs Lassi figured she hasn't been listening the whole time.

"The Neal diamond," Mr. Shura said, drawing Mrs Lassi back to the case. "It isn't a Neal diamond," she corrected.

This case concerns Mrs Harsy, a company worker accused of stealing a precious object.

The company, which dealt with historical issues and researched mining processes, had discovered a rare object dubbed the "Neal diamond"

It resembled a crystal, shaped like a surfer stone from Harry Potter, but with a distinct magnet pink colour.

Mrs Lassi had been skeptical about defending Harsy, and now she felt frustrated.

"This case is been adjourned until further notice," Judge Hemson announced.

Mrs Lassi jumped for joy in her heart.

"Your Honour, this is unfair!" Mister Shura exclaimed. Judge Hemson banged his gavel, dismissing the court at once before Shura could argue further.

As Mrs Lassi stepped out of the courtroom, she locked eyes with her husband. His Leo eyes sparkled with excitement under the dull sunlight.

She walked up to him with a bored look.

"Looks like someone's having a bad day," he said with a sly grin.

"What's wrong Gordey,"

Lassi rolled her eyes. "Not in the mood for pet names, idiot." She said with a thin smile.

Just then, his personal assistant, John, called out, "Mister Lassi!"

"Ah, duty calls. Gotta run!" Mr Lassi said, bidding his wife farewell.

As he walked away, he suddenly turned around like he forgot something. He called out, "Remind me to send Neon back! He's more of a thorn than a son".

"Not if you take Michka in his place"Gorde said with a mild grin Mister Lassi chuckled and waved goodbye before driving off.

Miss Lassi watched him go, a warm smile on her lips.
