The journey through the forest had been quiet. Ignarax flew low, his molten wings casting flickering shadows across the trees below. On his back, Kai sat silently, watching the world blur by.
His thoughts swirled.
"Igneel... that name. I know it. I've heard it before... but where?" Kai muttered to himself.
Ever since Ignarax had spoken of his half-brother, the name had tugged at Kai's memories. It was familiar—not from this world, but from something deeper. He'd passed it off as coincidence. Just another magical name in a magical world. But the closer they drew to their destination, the harder it became to ignore.
Then he saw the clearing.
A massive red dragon lounged in the center, his golden eyes sharp, yet kind. And by his side—
A boy. Spiky pink hair, a wide grin, and a carefree stance. A scarf around his neck. Fire flickering faintly from his fists as he shadowboxed.
Kai's breath caught in his throat.
"...No way."
It all came rushing back. The names. The style. The energy. The scarf.
"Natsu... Igneel... Dragon Slayer Magic... This is Fairy Tail. I've been reincarnated into that world."
The realization hit like a tidal wave. All the fragmented memories, the subtle hints, his unique magic eye—it all made sense now. And with that, everything changed.
The meeting was brief. Igneel gave a curt nod of recognition to his brother, while Natsu ran up to Kai, curiosity blazing in his eyes.
"You're a Dragon Slayer too?! Whoa, what kinda dragon slayer are you?!"
Kai blinked. "Uh... magma."
Natsu's grin widened. "That's so cool! I'm Natsu! Igneel's raising me!"
Kai smiled awkwardly. "Name's Kai. I guess… our dragons are brothers. So, maybe that makes us cousins?"
Natsu's eyes sparkled. "Even better! Lets fight!"
Before Kai could respond, Natsu had already leapt back, fire curling around his fists.
Ignarax sighed. "They're definitely related."
Igneel grinned. "Let them bond the dragon way."
Mock Battle – Kai vs. Natsu
Natsu dashed forward. "Fire Dragon Iron Fist!"
Kai raised an arm, blocking it with his own burning forearm. "Too slow."
He retaliated with a sweeping kick—"Earth Dragon Stomp!"—sending cracks through the ground and tripping Natsu off balance.
The pink-haired boy flipped midair, spitting flames. "Fire Dragon Roar!"
Kai countered with a move he'd only just started mastering. "Magma Dragon's Claw!" His fist glowed orange, fiery magma trailing as he swung it into the incoming flames. A shockwave burst out as fire met molten force.
Natsu was thrown back, landing hard on his feet, panting.
"Woah... that's like fire, but heavier... hotter."
Kai adjusted his stance. "Magma is fire and earth fused. A step beyond both."
Natsu charged again. They traded blows—Kai's techniques sharper, more refined, his movements practiced and controlled. Natsu fought with raw instinct and wild power, but he lacked precision.
Soon, Kai had the upper hand. He swept Natsu's legs, spun behind him, and tapped a burning fist to his back.
"Yield?"
Natsu growled. Then smiled. "For now."
From a distance, Igneel and Ignarax watched.
"He's strong," Igneel said.
"He'll need to be," Ignarax replied. "Especially if your plan with the Eclipse Gate is going to work."
Igneel nodded slowly. "You're really sending him?"
"I am."
"And he doesn't know yet."
Ignarax looked down. "He will. Soon, unlike your idea of randomly sending the kids to the future with no knowledge I will be informing mine about the plan , he is mature enough to understand the need for it ."
