Wu Chen who felt flattered to hear such blessings, quickly handed out the pills to the vendors who had stalls in that street, a total of ten stalls had received level seven pills, this was unheard of and Wu Chen knew this, even if he didn't have any business experience he had the knowledge for it, when he graduated to Pill Saint at the age of 15, his master taught him the business side of alchemy, how to start and manage a pavilion, how to deal with competitors and many other situations regarding the trade. With this knowledge it was clear Wu Chen was aiming for something beneath the surface, something more than just to make people like him or like his Gold Pill Pavilion.
Wu Chen whom after informing the vendors that he would return within the week, took his leave and flew to the Gold Pill Pavilion.
'i am not even there yet but I can already see it, look at those tall towers and the patches of large land all over, could they be for planting herbs? Why is it so big? even three Imperial Palaces could fit in there' observed an amazed Wu Chen.
Entering through the main gate he directly entered into the outer pavilion where the outer disciples practice and learn alchemy, there he observed a great deal of workstations all with good cauldrons and furnaces.
Although the outer pavilion was very large in size with workstations, herb gardens and dorms, the number of outer disciples was only 50, a big difference to a sect that focuses on cultivating martial arts, with hundreds of outer disciples.
along the path, Wu Chen stopped on his tracks when he witnessed a group of outer disciples all gathered at one station, cheering on two alchemists having a pill battle, no one even cared to look his way, but he was in awe of what he saw, he did not care for their rank, he only saw fellow alchemists practicing art.
"Is this what master meant about pavilions and sects, the unity in persuit of the Dao" with his eyes glimmering with admiration he too wanted to cheer for the alchemists.
There were about thirty outer disciples surrounding the two alchemists, standing from a safe distance.
With Wu Chen in the crowd he heard the cheers more clearly
On the left with a green cauldron was Liu Yanfei, a level 5 alchemist from the Liu clan, a humble clan that had a good reputation and a high status in the city, although they were known for martial arts their daughter liked alchemy and through connections got in the pavilion.
On the right with a blue cauldron was Ye Xun, another level 5 alchemist but from the Ye clan, a small merchant clan who were very successful in business.
These two twenty-year-olds were the best rivals in the outer pavilion even if they were just level 5. To enter the inner sect you had to be at level 7 and that required one's cultivation be at the Fire Cauldron stage and since most of the outer disciples were from rich families they started cultivating late.
With the two alchemist nearing completion the cheers got even louder.
"senior sister Liu Yanfei go for it!" Screamed a crowd near Wu Chen.
"senior sister Ye Xun go for it!" Shouted another group on the other side.
The cheers had rhythm. It was as if the two cheering parties took turns to shout, Wu Chen hearing this rhythm joined in on it, however he joined on the transition pause where both groups would be silent.
"senior sister Ye Xun you are so beautiful!" screaming with all his chest Wu Chen disturbed the rhythm, accumulating looks his way, all thirty disciples turned their heads with most of the group's gazes turning to raging glares, but all slowly backed away from him, even the two alchemists couldn't help but just pause refining and just glare at him.
With the gazes piercing him he had but one thought, 'damn it' standing there hopeless looked upon with foul intent, it was as if he could hear the insults coming.
"You...You are courting death!?" asked a furious disciple among the group.
"That's right! you boy are you flirting with death!? are you a mad man?" asked a tall male screaming at the top of his lungs with his finger pointing at Wu Chen "just looking at your clothes we know you are not from our pavilion, well I'll tell you something. Our senior sister Ye Xun is to be married to level 9 alchemist Hao Tian,an authentic disciple studying directly under Elder Hao Bei, senior brother Hao Tian is also son of the Hao clan that serve in the royal family's force!!" Gasping for air while still pointing at Wu Chen.
With a turn of his head facing Ye Xun"Then congratulations to you senior sister Ye Xun on your engagement" said Wu Chen with a bright smile that hit the nerve on Liu Yanfei.
Her anger flared and she snapped "are you studpid? Do you think she wants to get married let alone go to a bastard like Hao Tian?" shouted Liu Yanfei, her blood boiling like the hot cauldron Infront of her.
Fellow disciples sympathising with her anger began to curse Wu Chen for being an unlucky idiot, questioning where is from, some telling him to leave while some remained silent, every breath they took was smooth and calculated, in sync with their freightned heartbeats, they recognised Wu Chen from the time he disturbed the cheering rhythm, he sat a cold rhythm in their hearts, they froze unable to move and unable to speak only lost in their thoughts.
'is this how i am going to die? no crimes committed, I didn't offended no one I just got here myself and these idiots decide to offend a Pill King, I just saw senior sister Ye Xun, and came here to cheer her on, now, I won't even be able to help her break her engagement with that bastard Hao Tian, not even telling her my feelings' one disciple among the group starring into space, his heart heavy, his thoughts deep he didn't even realise that tears were running down his face.
With the crowd cursing Wu Chen and even getting aggressive, Liu Yanfei saw the crying disciple In a state of despair, "Qin Yan why are crying what's the issue?" Liu Yanfei shouted, her voice louder than everyone else, the others turned to look at Qin Yan, the silence was as loud as a bell, nothing could be heard except the sobs of the despairing Qin Yang.
Feeling as if that question had set him free from his cage of silence he pleaded with tears still running down his face and his voice weeping , "Pill King Wu please show mercy, don't kill us please, at..least..if..." Still sobbing while he began pointing towards the green cauldron "at least if you kill someone kill this arrogant girl, no... no...Lord Wu forgive me, I will do it for you!" he pleaded as he suddenly turned and charged toward Liu Yanfei behind the green cauldron.
