Chapter 9 - Chapter 8 – The Headmaster’s Secret

In the highest tower of Zenith Academy, beyond the eyes of nobles and professors, sat a man known only by title.

Headmaster Caelum Wraith.

He was said to be the founder of Zenith. A mythical figure with no public record of age, lineage, or allegiance.

And yet—he knew everything.

The Tower of Law

Harvey stood before a massive door inscribed with archaic runes. Each one pulsed with a different frequency of magic—blood, time, soul, and something… unknown.

"Enter," a voice whispered.

The door creaked open without touch.

Inside, the room was filled with levitating relics and ancient scrolls sealed in crystal. At its center: a desk made of petrified dragon bone. And behind it, the man himself.

Draped in silver robes, his face shadowed by a hood, Caelum Wraith did not look up as Harvey entered.

Instead, he gestured.

"Sit, Regression-born."

A Conversation of Truths

Harvey didn't sit.

The headmaster finally glanced up—and in his eyes, there was no shock. No curiosity.

Only certainty.

"You are not the first to return," Caelum said.

Harvey didn't respond.

"You are, however, the first to retain your core—the only one the system failed to wipe clean."

There was silence.

Then the Headmaster continued:

> "Do you know why your magic disrupts this world's laws?"

> "Why your spells trigger warnings even the system can't contain?"

Harvey's eyes narrowed.

Caelum leaned forward.

"Because you're wielding magic from a time that no longer exists."

The Codebreaker Theory

The headmaster slid a folder across the table. Inside: reports. Images. Diagrams of spells Harvey had never cast yet.

"Time doesn't flow as you think," Caelum whispered. "Every spell you use—every skill you forge—it bends this reality. Because you are not using the world's system."

He tapped a page titled CODEBREAKER CLASS – UNCONFIRMED.

"You're writing your own."

Harvey's hand clenched slightly.

Caelum smiled faintly.

"That's why they'll come for you. The Gods. The Upper Council. Even the System itself. Because you're not just an error, Harvey…"

> "You're the beginning of a rewrite."

---

An Offer and a Warning

Caelum stood, robes falling to reveal arms covered in tattoos—each one a different spell circle, pulsing.

"I will not protect you."

"But I will delay those hunting you—for a price."

Harvey raised an eyebrow.

The headmaster's voice grew low.

> "There's a sealed archive beneath Zenith. Only one person can open it."

> "The last Codebreaker. Your predecessor."

> "Find his key. Survive the trial. And uncover what he left behind."

He turned away.

"Fail, and history will erase you again."

Harvey walked to the door—but before leaving, he asked quietly:

> "Why help me at all?"

Caelum didn't look back.

"I lost someone once. Someone who tried to rewrite fate."

"And the world burned her for it."

Closing Scene

Outside the tower, storm clouds gathered. Far above, in the astral layer where even gods rarely tread, a fractured mirror pulsed.

A voice echoed from within.

> "He lives."

> "The anomaly… remembers."

And somewhere, in a realm untouched by time, a divine executioner opened her eyes.
