The night was cold.
Wind blew through the academy windows.
Most students were asleep.
Eiden was not.
He sat on his bed, reading the glowing book under the blanket.
This world has forgotten true magic.
Suddenly—
BOOM.
A loud sound shook the ground.
Then, a scream.
Eiden's eyes narrowed.
He stood up fast.
---
Outside, lights flashed.
The academy alarm was ringing.
"All students, stay inside! This is not a drill!" a voice shouted.
But monsters were already inside the walls.
Big, dark creatures with red eyes.
They looked like wolves but had spikes and black fog around them.
---
Eiden opened his window and jumped out.
He moved through shadows, fast and silent.
He saw students running.
Some teachers were fighting.
But they were losing.
How did the monsters pass the outer barrier?
Eiden ran toward the east building.
He saw Kai, bleeding, trying to protect two first-years.
---
"Get back!" Kai yelled, holding his sword.
One monster rushed him.
But Eiden appeared behind it—silent as wind.
Slash.
The monster fell in one clean cut.
Kai turned, shocked.
"You—?!"
Eiden didn't answer.
He vanished into the shadows again.
---
More monsters came.
The teachers used fire and wind magic.
But the monsters didn't fall easily.
They were strong—too strong for normal dungeons.
---
Near the library, Elara stood alone.
She blocked a monster's claw with her ice shield.
"Damn it...!"
Her mana was low.
The monster jumped—
Then stopped mid-air.
A sword was inside its chest.
Eiden appeared behind it.
"Are you hurt?" he asked, calm.
Elara blinked.
"I'm fine," she whispered.
But her heart beat fast.
---
Sera was near the healing hall, helping the injured.
She saw Eiden pass by—like a ghost in the night.
He moved with no sound.
His blade glowed faintly.
He's not normal, she thought.
No student moves like that.
---
Far from the others, near the old tower—
A huge monster stood.
It had black armor and four arms.
A boss-level creature.
Even teachers feared to go near.
Eiden walked toward it.
Alone.
He looked small beside it.
---
The monster roared.
It rushed at him.
CRASH!
Its claws hit the ground—but Eiden was gone.
One blink.
He was above it.
A faint blue light wrapped around his sword.
He slashed down.
---
The monster screamed.
It wasn't dead—but it was hurt.
Very hurt.
Eiden dropped to the ground.
He whispered a word.
A spell.
"Manus Gladius."
A second sword of light formed in the air.
He grabbed it and moved again.
Fast.
Deadly.
---
No one saw the fight clearly.
Only a shadow dancing in the dark.
Only a scream and a falling monster.
Then… silence.
---
When the teachers arrived—
The monster was gone.
Its body vanished into ash.
Eiden was not there.
Just footprints on the ground.
And one glowing mark carved into the stone.
A magic rune—hidden unless you knew what to look for.
---
Later that night, the headmaster stood on the rooftop.
Next to him was a man in a black coat.
The same one who watched Eiden before.
"That boy…" the man said.
"He's dangerous."
The headmaster nodded.
"Or maybe... he's what we need."
---
Back in his room, Eiden cleaned his blade.
His eyes were calm.
But his heart beat fast.
Not from fear.
From excitement.
This world is waking up again.
And so am I.
