Chapter 5 - Ambush!

A small pack of Goblins riding Tyr wolves appear from the underbrush. Jumping out to meet us, arrows wizz out of the trees and a firebolt is launched in our direction.

"Ambush! Battle Formations!"

The four adventurers formed a circle around the carriage, 3 of them had Fighter classes whilst Elle was a Priestess, and apparently also a Monk.

I dash into the forest, leaving the others behind and activate , before using  to sense the locations of the Goblin Archers and Mage.

gets activated several times as I rush behind each goblin, piercing through their hearts from the back. Until I reach the mage, which somehow (probably using magic) senses my presence, creating a bolt of poison and casting at me. I retaliate with a bolt of my own whilst rushing at it. It dodges quickly, turning to face me once more, but I am nowhere to be found, finally it notices my shadow, growing larger and rushing towards it. The dual wielded daggers in my hands glow with a menacing crimson light  a large splurt of blood comes out of the now gaping wound in its chest, the creature barely conscious, and yet still holding on. It opens its mouth, likely trying to chant, but too slow.

I tap it lightly on the head with the pommel of my dagger and the creature collapses, eyes empty, undeniably dead. I move back through, collecting the corpses for later use.

...

I return to the carriage where everybody stares at me, I casually stroll out of the forest after having killed a lot of Goblin Archers + a Goblin mage with what seems to be no effort.

We continue on our journey after a few minutes of silence. We reach the mountain pass itself a short while later.

activates, warning me of approaching enemies, although this time they seem far larger in number and far stronger.

"Ambush!" I shout down to my companions, a large group of bandits appear on either side of the mountain pass.

A large gruff man can be seen at the back of the group, clearly their leader. A status window pops up in front of my eyes.

So... his level is pretty freaking high, he's almost at max level for the Bandit Job, so I'm guessing that this won't be very fun. For now at least I should deal with the smaller fries.

...

I rush around active, using a lot, I notice my starter Daggers begin to get worn, starting to chip, as I take down more and more of the enemies. (This happened a few times but let's just ignore it)

The other fighters are each on their respective sides, whilst holy flames are coming out of the Priestess' staff 'damn that's scary.' All of a sudden I sense Killing intent from behind me, and I try to turn around but was too slow. A flame infused sword pierces out of my front, as my HP drops rapidly into the 10s. I turn around to see the newbie, smiling.

'Die, DIe, DIE, DIE,DIE,DIE,DIE! Decay! Dissappear you rat bastard! If I just had a little more time then you'd be dead!'

A bright glow begins emanating from my left hand. A bright light flashes, 'my Embryo!'.

A large Scythe appears in my hand.

-> Phantom Wielder: Passive skill, Whilst equipped as a weapon a Phantom wielder can hold onto it, allowing it to attack according to your instructions.

"Let's Goo!!!" I shout "" My physical state recovers instantly, the damage from the blade of fire forgotten.

My eyes blaze with Fury at the traitor.

a massive vertical slash rushes towards the traitor, turned completely to dust.

I turn to face the now gobsmacked and fearful Bandit troupe.

...

The Bandit's leader is the only one brave (or dumb) enough to step forward. I throw the scythe towards him, and he dodges, grinning.

I pull my hood off and use all of the weaker bandits collapse and die, immediately, unable to do anything, my fellow adventurers and the carriage protected by the priestess' holy energy.

The Bandit Leader himself coughs up blood, and as the Scythe moves back towards him, he stares in shock at the upturned scythe blade that subsequently protrudes from his chest.
