Chapter 28
"Awesome Gwen! Even after practicing for so long, your drumming is as powerful as ever."
After one song finished, Mary Jane looked at Gwen in surprise. It was hard to imagine how such a slender girl could possess such strong stamina and explosiveness. Her surprise was accompanied by joy because Gwen was the drummer of their band.
"I could do this all day," Gwen said casually, twirling the drumstick in her hand.
"That drummer from Midtown Band is no match for you at all," Betty said with a slight sneer, a hint of disdain in her voice.
"He's clearly a boy, but his drumming is so weak. Forgive me for being blunt, but Gwen's stage presence alone blows them out of the water."
"The most important thing for a band is the live performance. I believe that once they see our performance, even those old fogeys in the School Administration will know who should perform at the Dance."
Glory looked very confident, as if victory was already in her grasp.
"And we even have such an amazing Practice Room," Betty said, placing her hands on her chest, looking like a lady from an old movie.
"I'm so happy I could faint."
"We have to thank Mr. Osborn for his help," Mary Jane said with a smile.
Originally, Mary Jane was worried about finding a place for the band to practice. In her distress, she remembered Mr. Osborn's promise, so she tried mentioning it to Harry to see if they could rent a place. Unexpectedly, Mr. Osborn directly lent them a Villa to use as a Practice Room.
"My dad said you can use this Villa as you please, and don't worry about breaking anything inside, it's not worth much anyway."
When Mary Jane took the Key from Harry, she could tell that Harry really didn't care about this Villa. Judging by his expression, you'd think he was lending out an Eraser.
Of course, even though the Master said so, Mary Jane and the others couldn't be so unrestrained. They had always practiced only in the Villa's Garage and rarely went inside the Villa itself.
"How is everyone's rest? If there are no problems, how about we do it again?" Mary Jane clapped her hands and suggested.
"No objections."
"Ready when you are!"
Betty and Glory agreed, while Gwen on the side slowly raised a hand.
"Gwen?"
Mary Jane looked at Gwen in confusion, who seemed like a primary school student who had made a mistake.
"Sorry, I have something to do next. I need to leave a little early," Gwen said apologetically.
"Of course, no problem." Mary Jane didn't mind. It was mid-September, and the Homecoming Dance was in mid-October. They had plenty of Time, and besides, their Practice just now was very effective. There was no reason to refuse Gwen's request.
"But what are you going to do? Today is Sunday, and there are no classes," Betty asked curiously, looking at Gwen.
"Habby is moving Home today, and I'm going to help."
Since Yang Le confessed his identity as a transmigrator to Gwen, Gwen also knew that Yang Le was an Illegal Resident without an Identity. Gwen even teased Yang Le.
"You actually confessed to a Police officer's daughter that you are an Illegal Resident."
However, immediately after, Yang Le transformed into Upgrade right in front of Gwen, and used Upgrade's Ability to create a Legal Identity for himself through the internet.
With a proper Identity, Yang Le certainly wouldn't choose to continue living in the Sewer. He found a Bank, opened an Account, and then used Upgrade to hack into the bank system, learning from senior Cyborg, adding a small sum to his Account. Then, he chose a nice Apartment near Gwen's Home and bought it.
After a short period of renovation, today was the day Yang Le moved into his new Home.
"Oh, Habby," Mary Jane looked at Gwen with a smile that was not quite a smile. Even Betty and Glory's eyes became strange, making Gwen's heart palpitate.
"That's it, I'm not chatting anymore, everyone. I'm in a hurry, so I'll leave first." Feeling that the atmosphere was wrong, Gwen directly chose to escape. She put away her Drumstick, and with her superhuman speed, she ran out of the Garage in a few steps, leaving without looking back, giving Mary Jane and the others no chance to tease her.
Watching Gwen flee in panic, Mary Jane and the others could only pack up and end today's Practice.

"Habby, your Living Room television is so big, it must be awesome for playing Games," Peter said enviously.
"If you want to play, you can wait until my Game Console arrives, and we can play together," Yang Le's voice came from the Study Room. He was neatly arranging Books on the Bookshelf in order.
"Really?"
"Of course, when you're tired of playing, you can just sleep here, no problem."
"Awesome! Thank you, Habby."
'If you knew what Meme I just played on you, you might not be so happy.' Yang Le walked out of the Study Room and looked at Peter, who was working hard. He suddenly felt like he was tricking a child.
Speaking of working, there wasn't really much to do. It was just cleaning and arranging things. Everything else had already been done.
"By the way, when is Gwen arriving?" Peter asked Yang Le curiously.
"You two live so close, why are you asking me this question?" Yang Le looked at Peter in confusion.
"Huh? Aren't you two Lovers?" Peter scratched his head and looked at Yang Le in surprise.
"Gwen and I were just putting on an Act for you, you haven't forgotten, have you?" Yang Le's expression was a bit helpless, as if he couldn't believe that Peter had forgotten about the fake Lovers thing.
"Of course, I remember that, but in the past half month, Gwen has been coming to find you whenever she's free. I thought you two were really together."
'That's to help Gwen adapt to her Superpower.' Of course, he couldn't say this. Yang Le could only hold it back in his heart because Gwen had asked him not to tell anyone about her Superpower, so Yang Le could only keep it to himself.
As for why Gwen didn't want Yang Le to tell anyone, Gwen's answer was Intuition. There was always a voice in Gwen's heart telling her that the fewer people who knew about her Ability, the better.
Yang Le guessed that voice should be Gwen's Spider-Sense. Although he didn't know why Spider-Sense was warning about this, considering the all-powerful Spider-Man's instincts, Yang Le still chose to believe it.
Looking at the silent Yang Le, Peter became more interested and continued to Inquire.
"Seriously, Habby, what do you really think of Gwen? I can feel that Gwen should have Feelings for you."
"You haven't even gotten your own love life sorted out, and you're already worrying about others?" Yang Le curled his lips. "You should worry about your Mary Jane. The number of people pursuing her at Midtown High School is so large that even I, an outsider, know about it."
"Please, Habby, don't mention it." Peter scratched his head in pain. Since his conversation with Mary Jane at Gwen's Home last time, he thought there would be some progress. Unexpectedly, the next day, Mary Jane was still the same as usual to him. Peter didn't dare to ask proactively. This was already painful enough, and now adding a bunch of suitors, just thinking about it made Peter want to faint.
Yang Le looked at the pained Peter and smirked. 'You little brat still want to gossip about me? You're not qualified yet.'
Just as Yang Le was about to further torment Peter, the Doorbell suddenly rang. Peter seemed to see a savior and ran towards the Doorway.
"The Bell Ring saved you, kid," Yang Le said with lingering interest.
