Chapter 2 - The Omniversal Hub

The whiteness lingers. You blink once, twice, and then it's gone. Your body still feels strange—like you've been altered on a molecular level, but you're still you, right?

Right?

You stand, and gravity finally feels like it's settled, though it's heavier than you remember. Your breath catches in your throat as you take in your surroundings.

It's hard to explain at first, the place where you find yourself. The space around you is not quite… real. It's like being in a dream, but sharper, defined. The colors are too rich, the light too pure. Everything vibrates with cosmic energy, pulsing like a living thing. The air feels alive, like it has a heartbeat, a pulse you can feel beneath your skin.

You can't escape the feeling.

You take a step forward, and the ground beneath your feet doesn't quite touch—it hovers, just a hair above your skin. But it's solid, nonetheless, and as you move, it shifts. The floor is a translucent surface of liquid light, shimmering with every step you take.

Then, as you glance up, you notice them—floating islands, massive and infinite. Some flicker, others are translucent like shards of broken glass. In the distance, you see stars, or what you think are stars—distant lights blinking, sending ripples through the space around them.

The sound is… different. You can't pinpoint it, but it feels like everything is moving around you. The space is fluid, like it doesn't belong to just one reality.

You walk further, your mind scrambling to grasp what you're seeing, but you can't—you shouldn't. It's as if this place wasn't made for human eyes.

Then, a voice. Quiet. Calm. Otherworldly.

"Welcome."

You turn, startled, only to find no one. The voice echoes in your mind, not from a direction, but from within you. It's… you. But not.

"You have been chosen."

Your heart skips a beat. Chosen? You're just a guy. An ordinary twenty-year-old with too many hours spent on web novels and wasted thoughts of what ifs. This doesn't make sense.

Then, the space around you bends. A portal opens, sudden and seamless, right in front of you. Bright, endless, and beckoning.

Your first instinct is to step back. The voice comes again, stronger now, reverberating like it comes from the very air around you.

"Step forward. Enter, and explore. The multiverse awaits you."

The words hang in the air like an unspoken promise. Something you feel deep in your chest. Your heart thuds, heavier this time. The weight of the words. The possibility.

You walk toward the portal, each step faster, almost involuntary, as if something outside yourself is pulling you in.

And before you know it, you're through.

You're falling. Or maybe you're flying. The world around you warps in strange shapes and colors—a kaleidoscope of shifting realities. Each blink, a new universe; each breath, a different dimension. The gravity here is non-existent, and you feel weightless, suspended in this chaos of worlds.

A world. No, a thousand worlds.

And then, you land.

With a thud.

Your eyes snap open, and the world around you stabilizes. It's… darker here. Dim. You hear the sound of wind rushing past you, and as you lift your head, you see towering structures ahead. Metal. Glass. Ancient stone. They blend into the sky, twisted, surreal. The city before you isn't real—not in the way your mind understands reality. It's a hybrid of a thousand different influences.

A faint, strange hum vibrates through your chest, like the city is breathing, and somewhere, in the distance, you hear the low roar of a monster.

You take a step forward, the ground beneath your feet solid now, but still disconcertingly smooth. Something about this place feels… alive. It's almost as if the city itself is a creature, watching you, aware of your presence.

But it's not the city that draws your attention.

It's the figure standing near a large archway just ahead of you, looking like a silhouette of a being made from pure light. Its body shifts like liquid, the edges blurring and flowing, but you can feel its gaze.

And the voice returns, this time softer.

"You've arrived."

You swallow hard, your throat tight.

"Where am I?" you ask, your voice strange to your own ears, as if you weren't entirely sure of your own existence.

The figure tilts its head, and for the briefest moment, its features flicker, revealing a form, something humanoid—maybe male, maybe female. It's not clear. It seems to be beyond what you could even conceptualize.

"The Omniversal Hub."

You feel a chill run through you. The words hit you like a punch to the stomach. The Omniversal Hub? What the hell does that mean? You've never heard of anything like this. There's no handbook, no story explaining the rules. The air is thick with confusion and unspoken answers.

You glance around. The figure's eyes gleam now, like they're watching you closely.

"Who are you?"

The figure blinks, once, twice. The sound of the wind picking up, the distant roar of something too big to be a natural beast. The figure stands still, letting the silence hang in the air before speaking again, this time with weight, as though it knows more than it's letting on.

"I am the Guide. You have much to learn."

The ground beneath your feet shudders slightly, and you feel your body hum with a strange energy. You look down, your breath catching as you see a faint glow wrapping around your hands—flickering, like it has a mind of its own.

The figure steps forward, gesturing toward the city ahead.

"Every world you visit will bring new challenges, new abilities, and new truths. You are not bound by the limits of any single world anymore."

You understand. Just barely, but you do.

This is your new reality.

The Omniversal Hub is no longer a mere concept—it's the beginning of something you cannot yet comprehend. And you? You're at the very center of it all.

"Ready to explore, Mussy?" the Guide asks, a faint smile on its liquid face.

You nod. It's time to make your mark.
