Purple flames burst as Jacob propelled himself at the men. He shot himself at the men with incredible speed. He caught one of the men by surprise, head butting his nose with such force that it broke. The other two men turned around and shot energy balls at Jacob, but he dodged them with ease. He danced around the men, his purple flames flickering around him. Their smug faces now turned to angry faces, they continued to fire energy balls at Jacob, and eventually, two of them hit him at the same time. Jacob's shirt lit up, if he didn't have fire powers he would've died. But he didn't, he dismissed the flames with a swipe of his hand.
Just as he got up, one of the men with a broken nose swung a kick at his head. Jacob was sent flying backward and landed on the ground with a sickening thud. He lay there for a moment, struggling to breathe. The men approached Jacob, their faces once again twisted into cruel smiles. Jacob didn't like these men, first time he met someone other than him with super powers, but instead of sharing stories, doing cool stuff and other friendly things these men are here to kill him, why? He doesn't now. "Pathetic," he heard his other self say.
"I know he's just a kid but didn't expect him to put up a fight," said one of the men.
"Of course he can Ralph," the other one said.
"He's the kid that killed one of the test subjects by lighting the sky up," said the third one with a broken nose.
"Okay, okay whatever let's kill this kid and get this over with," Ralph said.
The man with the broken nose stood over Jacob grinning, "I'll take care of him."
He pointed his hand at Jacob's forehead, his fingers slowly glowed yellow. Jacob was too dazed to even do anything. Before the man could fire, something caught their attention, someone from behind, Jacob heard Ralph cursing. Whoever is there, must be a big deal. All three men advanced towards the figure, ignoring Jacob. He managed to see who they were going to kill, a woman. A very good looking woman, what is she doing here? Doesn't she now she's in danger? What is she, a good Samaritan? He tried to warn her but his tongue lay heavy.
"What are doing here? How did you find us?" one of the men asked.
"It's pretty simple," Beatrice said.
"Damn you woman, we know a lot about you. Don't you think just because you did some shit in Cape Town..." Said the other man with the broken nose.
"We don't fear you," finished Ralph.
Beatrice said nothing she just smiled, and her smile dropped when magic crimson tentacles erupted from her back. She reminded Jacob of Dr. Octopus. The tentacles lashed out at the men at such speed, the men didn't get the chance to ready themselves. The men struggled to break free, but the tentacles were too strong. They squeezed tighter and tighter until the men started to loose conscious.
"Damn…you…woman…" were the last words Ralph managed to say before his head lolled forward.
Jacob watched in amazement as the woman single-handedly defeated the three men in black. He had never seen anything like it before. Beatrice left the men on the ground then knelt beside Jacob, her green eyes peering into his. She was remarkably beautiful. Jacob couldn't help but think of a way to charm her, but now is not the perfect time…not when he's looking like this.
"Are you okay?" she asked.
Jacob nodded, still struggling to catch his breath. "Yes, thank you for your help."
"I'm glad you're still alive I thought I wouldn't make it in time."
"Who are you by the way? Why were these men after me?"
"I'll answer all of your questions later, but for now let's go somewhere safe,"
Beatrice helped Jacob get to his feet, she wrapped his arm around her neck and helped him walk. Suddenly Jacob's day turned out to be better then he'd expected, he'd never been helped like this by anyone let alone a hot chick who saved his life from those three men.
"What will happen to those three?"
"Don't worry about them, they'll be taken care of."
"Like in a prison?"
"Yep, don't worry…everything is going to be okay."
And just like that, Jacob trusted her.
