''Jaune… umm, where are you heading to?''
Pyrrha hesitantly asks when noticing Jaune was about to walk out the door while spending the last half-hour freshening up and putting on new fresh clean clothes straight out from the drying machine.
And despite Pyrrha asking him where he was going, a large part of her already had the answer to the question, as this was just one out of many times that it happened. But not knowing why, she still asks anyway. She felt maybe it was a way to comfort herself from the fact her partner and crush was secretly dating another woman… and clearly more than one at that.
Jaune grab on the doorknob came to a halt midway. He turned to his partner, rubbing the back of his head; something he grew to unconsciously do when awkward, embarrassed, or being asked a question out of the blue.
''...Err, I'm heading out to meet an old friend from my hometown, Ansel. Apparently, he's coming to Vale for a visit for a few weeks and is asking me to give him a tour around the place.'' Quickly pondering on what to say, Jaune directly uttered a story that popped into his mind.
''I-I see. A friend from your hometown.''
If it's just meeting an old friend then why dress up? Even now… Honestly, just like Ren, Pyrrha also couldn't understand Jaune's reason for hiding the fact that he's apparently dated Blake, Yang, and even the innocent Ruby who claimed she wasn't interested in romance.
...furthermore, Pyrrha hated the fact that… a part of her was glad he chose to hide it. Though she knows it's just her wishfulness, it allows her to pretend that Jaune hasn't really dated any of their friends and there was still a chance for her.
''Uhh, I'll be going now. Don't wait-up, I might be late coming back.'' Seeing that there was no more question from his partner, Jaune made a quick exit, leaving behind those words ringing in Pyrrha's ears.
''Might? You will…'' Those words made her heart bitter when knowing what he's up to and who he's with, and that he'd definitely be late because of it.
After Jaune makes his exit, Nora, sitting lazily with a headphone over her ears, pulls the headphones down and sighs. ''There he goes. Honestly, why does Jaune-Jaune feel the need to keep hiding his relationship from us. Does he think we're going to judge him for practically dating almost all the members of team RWBY? Renny, Renny, don't you think Jaune-Jaune is just being dumb?''
Nora shifted her head to the ever calm-looking long black-haired, blank-looking boy, who was quietly and neatly folding his clothes freshly out of the drying machine and placing them atop his bed in an orderly manner.
''Maybe but I believe our leader has his reason for not telling us,'' Ren coolly said without halting his movement. ''Ahh, like what!? Pyrrha, do you know!?'' The hyperactive, orange-hair asks her other teammates.
Nora admitted she had significantly become more comfortable talking about the topic of their captain's relationship with the redhead.
When they first discover Jaune's apparent relationship, obviously with Pyrrha's crush on him, talking about the topic is a big No No to any of them! But that was awhile ago and while Nora wasn't the brightest out there, she knew it wouldn't be good to keep avoiding the topic and letting her friend continue to dwell in her despondent.
''I- I don't know why either.''
That short line was Pyrrha's only response. Although she appreciated the gesture, the bubbly and playful girl was just trying to help her get over this. Clearly, she was not completely comfortable with the topic.
''While Vale had no laws forbidding getting more than one partner, having more than one is still not something that is typically seen. Maybe either Jaune or the other feel self-conscious about it. Just my guess though so don't take my words as certainty. Afterall, it could easily be a reason as simple as not feeling the need to disclose their relationship.''
Ren coolly chimed in next, explaining his thoughts to them.
''Wait Renny!''
''Hmm?'' Ren lifted his brow.
''Is that true!? Does Vale Laws really not forbid someone having more than one partner!?'' Nora petite's yet developed body jolted in surprise, jaw-dropping from the new information she just found out. ''Pyrrha, did you know about this as well!?''
''Mm, I did.'' Pyrrha nodded, seemingly more despondent at the admission of it being true.
''Ohhh,'' Nora's little mouth opened wide in an 'O' shape. ''No wonder fearless leader is dating so many girls at the same time!!''
''Why does that suddenly surprise you?'' Ren inquired with confusion. Years with Nora clearly didn't completely help in figuring out his partner's unique train of thought. And he doubted it ever would either.
''Well—it's just—I kinda always wondered what Jaune-Jaune would do when he eventually faced the problem of marrying any of the girls. Y'know, that kind of stuff~! Hehehe...'' Nora sheepishly rubs her finger against her cheek.
''That's what you've been thinking hard about this whole time?'' Ren deadpen, and even Pyrrha sends the hyperactive girl the same look.
''W-wha! Isn't it only logical to think about it!?'' Notice the way they were gazing at her, Nora's mouth parted to defend herself. ''Besides, Renny, you better not be thinking of taking advantage of Vale's law and think of forming your own harem like fearless leader!'' Nora furrows her brow at Ren and huffs. ''I'm watching you, mister.''
''Wha-! Why would I be thinking of forming a harem in the first place?'' Despite being able to maintain his composure most of the time, Ren willingly admits he also had times when he would lose his bearing. And this was one of those times.
Nora shrugs, ''Many reasons, Renny, many reasons.''
''Okay, Nora. First of all, answering a question by saying 'many reasons' doesn't really answer anything, and also, I never thought of forming a harem like Jaune.'' Ren squatted his eyes and said with a serious expression.
''Hmm, if you say so Renny…'' Nora hummed, eyes shifted away from him.
Ren eyelids twitch but maintain his silence, not wanting to prolong the subject.
''Heheheh…''
The pair immediately darted their attention towards the redhead when they heard the soft laugh.
''Pyrrha…? Do you find Renny forming a harem amusing?'' Nora pouted, as she asked the redhead, who was trying to hide her smile but failed to do so.
''I- I, excuse me, sorry.'' Regaining her bearing, Pyrrha habitually apologizes. ''It's just—It's rare to see you two bicker since most of the time Ren would just accept whatever you say with a calm stride.''
Ren and Nora met each other's eyes and both faintly smiled. Seeing Pyrrha smile and laugh at them was preferable to seeing her gloomy and sad.

Time flew by slowly but surely.
The semester was quickly approaching its end and most students were already preparing for the long break ahead where they could visit their families and have fun. Taking the time to relax their mind and body for the next year.
Over at team JNPR dorm quarter, likewise, the group were preparing and discussing what they were going to do over the break.
''So Pyrrha, are you staying or going somewhere during the break!? Me and Renny here are going to visit a few towns that we took shelter under after our, oops—you know, just reliving some old memories from when we were young and all...!'' Nora excitedly spoke about Ren and her plan for the break to Pyrrha.
Pyrrha holds on to every word despite the long string of dialogue one after another. When Nora was finally done and eagerly waiting for her to speak with anticipation, her smile was slight as she parted her lips to say.
''I...uhmm, I'm thinking of going back home to Mistral for the break,'' Pyrrha began, beaming gently as she did. ''My parents are urging me to head home and visit since they haven't seen me in months except through video call.''
''Oh, I forgot Pyrrha, you haven't really talked much about your family! How are they!? What are they like!?'' Hearing Pyrrha mention her parents, Nora excitedly shoves her head closer in anticipation of the chance to learn more about her redheaded friend.
''Nora…'' Ren sighed and said from the side.
''What Renny, I'm just very curious that's all!'' Nora made an unhappy face his way.
''You can't just casually ask others about their family and—''
''I don't mind. It's not something dramatic so there's no big deal in telling her about them, Ren.'' Pyrrha interjected before he could finish the sentence. And Ren glanced her way before nodding.
''See Renny, Pyrrha doesn't mind telling us about her family!'' Nora remarks, staring unhappily at Ren while the boy in question can only helplessly accept her dissatisfaction and placate the girl. ''I want to know, I want to know, tell us now Pyr!'' After seemingly dealing with the boy, Nora switches her attention back to the redhead; eyes twinkling with stars.
''Alright, alright, I well.'' Like many of their friends, it's sometimes hard for Pyrrha to deal with Nora's energy.
''As you knew I grew up in the city of Argus, locating at the northern region of Mistral…'' Pyrrha began, retelling her past to Nora with a slight melancholy that could be felt from her.
Just as she told Nora at first, her past wasn't anything dramatic or had a tragedy like many others in Beacon, notably the two friends before her. Pyrrha grew up in a family that was well off and had loving parents who always fully supported her in whatever goals she chose to pursue, so she believed herself to be quite lucky in that category.
As for why she chose to become a huntress and attended a huntsman academy? Pyrrha couldn't really say it was out of a pure desire to help fight against the creature of Grimm at first. The thought of becoming one was because her parents were also once a huntsman and a huntress and she thought doing the same was only natural despite their insistence that she could choose to be whatever she wants, and not need to follow in their footsteps.
However, she convinces them that's what she really wants because… it is what she wanted at heart. While the thought of becoming a huntress may have first formed from knowing about her parent's history, at the end, she genuinely wanted to be one because she believes it's right to defend humanity against Grimm. Most importantly, when she had the capability and talent for it…
Looking back on her past, Pyrrha truly believes her life was smooth sailing compared to most. The only problem was the fame she had garnered from a young age due to her talents, which made forming any meaningful relationship with others quite hard.
That was also the reason she came to Beacon Academy despite the many persuasions from others for her to attend Haven, the huntsman academy in Mistral. And she met Jaune because of that and was immediately interested in him after finding out he knew nothing about her except, well… her being a mascot for a cereal commercial that one time.
If only I was braver… things might have turned out very differently.
Pyrrha Nikos immediately shrugs off the thought that had frequently popped into her mind and finally finishes narrating her past to the bundle of energy before her, gazing back at her with twinkling eyes resembling the shining stars in the night sky while holding onto her every word.
''Whoa! Your parents sound amazed and so supportive of you, Pyrrha!'' Nora exclaims loudly, clearly happy for her friend born with loving parents. And Ren also added, ''Yes, they sounded like very good people.''
''Yes… they are.'' While narrating her past, she suddenly misses seeing her parents in person, as much as they wish to see her as well.
''How about your parents, Nora?'' Ask Pyrrha, eager to learn more about her friends she has known for almost a year. However, she didn't expect to see the drastic shift in the hyperactive girl and the quiet boy exterior after asking that.
''Uh uh uh—I'm sorry for asking! Forget I ever asked!'' Pyrrha wasn't the clueless type, when seeing their drastic chance in facial expression she instantly guessed that her question was insensitive to their situation.
From what she knew about Nora and Ren's background from what was revealed before, a Grimm attacked their village and they were the only ones to escape from it. Asking a friend who lost her family at an early age about her family was obviously quite an insensitive topic.
Pyrrha wanted to berate herself for such carelessness!
But contrary to her nervous and fidgeted self, though it lacked the usual flare Nora shook her head slowly and squeezed out a smile. ''It's fine Pyrrha, I was taken by surprise at the question that's all. Besides, isn't it only fair to talk about myself when you told me yours.''
Noticing her friends quickly reverted back to her usual self after the sudden shift in her exterior just now, Pyrrha breathed out a relief.
''N-no, Nora, you don't have to tell me if it's uncomfortable just to level the planefield.'' Pyrrha said, not wanting her friend to open up a wound in order to satisfy her curiosity.
''Nah, fair is fair Pyr-Pyr~!'' Nora said, and proceeded to utter after turning her head briefly to Ren. ''Right right, Renny!?''
''Right Nora.'' Ren sighs and utters in brief acknowledgment.
''See, Renny doesn't mind at all! Unless… Pyr-Pyr doesn't want to learn of our epic tale of how we end up here anymore~'' Nora flashes a teasing smile to Pyrrha.
The redhead softly bit her lips in slight hesitation, then nodded as she said. ''If- if you are sure then of course I want to hear more of your story.''
''Okay, this is how I and Renny's epic tale first started…'' With dramatic hand gestures and facial expressions, like Pyrrha, Nora began narrating her and Ren's story from when they were kids and how they were forced to live in different orphanages due to circumstances after the Grimm attack on their village.
With Nora's knock for dramatic flair, the narration lasted much longer than when Pyrrha tells her story. But despite the slow passing, time surely flows by without their noticing.
The story comes to an end and the three settle down before Nora suddenly asks a question that causes the group to raise their brow in interest.
''Sooo… is anyone going to ask about where fearless leader is? Don't y'all think he's been gone for quite a bit of time now.''
''Yes… he has been gone for quite a while…'' Now that Nora mentions it, Pyrrha also begins to wonder about their captain's whereabouts. ''Maybe he's doing something important that really needs his attention. I mean—why else would he be gone without telling us, right?''
''Ohh, Pyrrha…'' Nora sighed at her friend's words, and the redhead flinched immediately. ''There's no need to defend him, we all know he's definitely hanging out with one of them or… all.''
Although she didn't explicitly state who is 'them', both girls knew that it was referring to team RWBY.
''... don't you think 'all' is a little exaggerated? After all, Weiss couldn't possibly be involved with Jaune in any romantic ways.'' Pyrrha honestly didn't know her reason for adding this, especially when he was already dating three girls, the addition of another woman wouldn't really make it better for her.
''You're probably right, Pyr, with how much she rejected him in the past. But I don't know about that when...'' A shit-eating grin that would normally be found in Yang surface on the petite girl's face. The champion was immediately curious at the words which were left unsaid and tersely asked. ''When what?''
''Well, in the past the thought of him and the ice queen may be an impossibility but when you think about how popular Jaune-Jaune had been these few months. Is the thought of him also going out with her really impossible~''
Pyrrha stares at the hyperactive girl with a dubious gaze. Something the shorter girl obviously picked up on it but chose to ignore the gaze in an effort to maintain her grin.
At that time, Ren chose to add in his own little input. ''I don't know if I should mention this, but this might be helpful to the topic you two are on.'' The quiet boy put down the book he had grabbed under his pillow not long ago and turned to the two girls. ''He mentioned Weiss was going to help him practice with different types of dust so they might currently be at the drone room.''
The girls stare at him in shock at the bombshell he casually dropped on them, unable to form a word to say for a while. And during that stretch-out silence, Nora, regaining her bearing, directly went to bombard Ren with questions.
''What, Jaune-Jaune is with Weiss!? Why didn't you tell us this sooner, Renny!!? This could be such a great scoop to find out if he really is dating the entirety of team RWBY, and we could totally have missed it all!!''
''Y-yeah, I agree with Nora. This- this could be a great chance to find, find out more about him.'' Seeing that even Pyrrha was agreeing with his partner, Ren suddenly felt like he was doing something wrong for not telling them. ''I, I thought it wasn't anything important so I didn't think to bring it up.'' He tried to explain, losing his cool somewhat.
''How can it not be important Renny, when the subject of our gossip has been about Jaune-Jaune's romantic partner for the past months!? I can't believe we have to tell you this!? Ahh, what has happened to the smart you!?'' Nora sadly said, looking genuinely concerned.
Staring at her while mulling over her words just now, Ren couldn't help but thoughtfully think in his mind. When she said it like that, it actually made sense…
''Alright you two, we got to hurry now before they're done with their business!''
''Huh? Wait I- I was curious but spying on them is a bit…''
''... sigh.''
Before the two notice it, Nora had already grabbed onto them and pulled them along despite their clear reluctance.
...
''There's a lot of boom and bam going on, what do you think they're doing inside?'' Nora whispers to the two beside her.
''It's the drone room so… Aren't they just using it as a practice target for what Ren mentions Weiss helping Jaune in the utilization of dust.'' Pyrrha replied, clearly still uncomfortable with the thought of spying on her captain.
Especially the other time ending in her witnessing something very, how to say… impactful. Which she was still feeling guilty for, and the many pictures on her scroll only serve to enforce that guilt. Unfortunately, despite wanting to—she couldn't bring herself to delete those pictures.
As for Ren, having been dragged into this, sighed but still uttered his own little helpful input like usual. ''I say the loud explosive sounds are clearly from the dust and the impact is from the drone being destroyed. If you're that curious though, we can sneak a peep inside.''
''Great idea Renny! I've never doubted you! Despite always complaining about not being curious, you never stop coming up with good suggestions.'' Nora gives a thumbs up to the quiet boy, looking proud of him for some reason. ''If I don't know better I think you are actually the most curious about Jaune-Jaune romantic relationships out of all of us~!''
Ren rolled his eyes at his childhood/partner antic.
As for Pyrrha, seeing how loud the hyperactive orange-haired was, nervously utter. ''Please don't speak so loud Nora, what if they notice us.''
''Heh heh~ No need to worry about, with how much noise they're making inside, how can they hear us?'' Nora chuckled at her worries.
''Still…'' But still nervous, Pyrrha wanted to say more but ended up holding her tongue when Nora blatantly ignored her and sneaked a peep inside after pushing open the door slightly.
Pyrrha then lowered her head slightly in a curious manner. And while looking disinterested moments ago, Ren couldn't conceal his curiosity either.
Thereafter moments passed, as Nora took her time peeping inside. Pyrrha was unable to stop herself from asking as curiosity creeped into her tone. ''Umm. Do you see what they're doing, Nora?''
However, Nora didn't immediately answer her. And Pyrrha, waiting for a reply, became more curious, and different strange thoughts began to float around her mind as her cheek flushed a deep shade of red.
Is Jaune doing the exact same thing he did with Yang that day with Weiss or maybe… more? No way, right!?
Blushing in mortification at the thought going through her mind, Pyrrha desperately shook her head to rid herself of them. Which had helped a bit until Nora, head turning back to her, said with a mischievous glint hidden beneath a sly grin.
''Well… Renny was correct when he said they're just practicing dust and using the drone as target practice but… they were rather touching with each other, and the atmosphere felt quite ambiguous. Want to see for yourself, Pyr-Pyr~?''
Ren merely raises his eyes at that. On the other hand, Pyrrha seems absolutely stunning as her mind again conjures up a different image, and even the ones she never expected them to do popped up, flashing through her mind like the turning of a page in a book.
''Wh-wha-what did you say they're doing!?'' Stuttering, Pyrrha asks with a beet-red face the same color as her hair.
With the same mischievous glint going unnoticed by the redhead, Nora took a step back to make room for Pyrrha, motioning her to see for herself instead of asking. Pyrrha hesitates for more than a brief second before seemingly strengthening her resolve and looking through the barely open door.
Pyrrha took a quick breath and braced her nerve for whatever sight she would witness behind this door.
Time ticks slowly but surely as Pyrrha pulls back after getting a final glance. Beside her, the orange-haired Nora, tried to stifle her laugh while avoiding gazing at the redhead, who seemed quite puzzled.
''Everything looks normal to me, or am I overlooking something from their interaction?''
Pyrrha had tried observing for any sign of ambiguous atmosphere Nora mentioned, including them being touching and stuff, but all she saw was Weiss earnestly demonstrating and teaching Jaune about the different properties of dust and berating him when he wasn't getting it. In return, the boy seems earnest in trying to absorb the knowledge she imparted while looking embarrassed when messing up and getting an earfold from the pale-skinned, snow-white-haired Schnee.
''Heh heh—hahaha...!''
It started out as a giggle and quickly became a full-blown laugh. The redhead, realizing that she'd been tricked by her friend, pouted slightly while the embarrassed feeling of actually expecting her partner to be caught being intimate with Weiss began to settle inside. A deep crimson red reminiscing of her hair colored her entire face as smoke seemed to steam off from her head.
''N-Nora! That's not funny!!'' Pyrrha's voice raises, the embarrassment not easing in the slightest.
''Sorry, sorry, I shouldn't have done that Pyrrha! With your crush on our fearless leader and all.'' Nora said, trying to placate the Mistral Champion.
Pyrrha expresses ease but instantly reverts back to embarrassment when Nora mentions her unrequited crush on their captain. ''Serious Nora, let's not talk about this any longer!'' She said a bit of heat could be felt from it.
''I—right, sorry.'' Realizing she might have gone too far with that, the hyperactive girl apologized right away.
''Since we're here because of it in the first place, you two might want to see this.'' Ren calmly said, interrupting the two.
''Huh? Renny, what is so—'' Hearing Ren, Nora directly pushed him aside to look. And what she saw had her jaw drop, mouth and eyes wide open.
''Uhh, Nora…?'' Pyrrha said, gazing quizzically at her friend's abrupt silence.
Nora ignored her, paused to massage her eye, and went back to looking. After a minute or two passed, she retracted her gaze and directed at Pyrrha. ''You should look for yourself, Jaune-Jaune and Weiss is quite something~''
Confused and skeptical of another trick, Pyrrha hesitates briefly before eventually relents because of her own curiosity. Moving aside for her, Nora smirks, watching the redhead peep inside the currently occupied drone room.
The image was clear and impactful for the redhead. She saw Jaune and Weiss, who not long ago were practicing hard with dust, now sharing a deep passionate kiss on the lips. And the one that seemed to initiate the kiss was surprisingly Weiss, with how she seemed to be in control.
''I had a feeling this may be the case, but we still underestimate Jaune-Jaune, he managed to collect the entire team RWBY. That's fearless leader for ya!'' Nora said, wiping an imaginary tear with a proud expression.
Pyrrha couldn't muster a single word to that, eyes unable to tear away from the sight. As for Ren, nodding, he remarks with clear amazement at his brother all but blood. ''He really is remarkable.''

At Team JNPR's dormitory.
Packing most of his clothes and necessities together in a suitcase, Jaune relaxed and slumped down on the bed.
As this was the last week before the long break ahead of them, the team had thoroughly prepared themselves, gathering their belongings and packing their things to take back home since they wouldn't be back for a few months.
Seeing Jaune slumping lazily down, Nora sat down on her own bed, kicking her feet like a little child, and said with no small amount of curiosity. ''You never say what you're going to do over the break, fearless leader!? Well, other than visiting the family of course!''
That got the other two attention. Both Pyrrha and Ren rear their head, gazing at the blonde raising himself up after hearing Nora's question.
Jaune rubbed the back of his head out of habit, and sorted his thoughts, he suddenly grimaced before responding with a sigh. ''Like I mentioned before, I'll just be going back to the village where I grew up, Ansel, and stay with my family throughout the break. But… I probably have a lot of explaining to do, hehe…''
''Like what!? About running away to attend a huntsman academy, without training at that~!'' Nora exclaims with confusion at first, but a thought suddenly dawns on her as she smirks playfully while saying.
''...that too,'' Jaune cleared his throat out of embarrassment. Her words had hit the mark. ''However, it's also about a different matter as well. I mean—I'm sure they won't judge or anything like that but the thought of telling them about it does feel awkward or… better way to say is plain nerve-wracking.''
'''Nerve-wracking'? what could be more never-wracking than running away with your family heirloom and cheat— I mean attending Beacon without telling them for almost the entire year?'' Ren chimed out of surprise.
And who can blame him? Their team knew that one of the major problems that had always eaten away at Jaune was the situation with his family, as he had mentioned it to them many times after they all got closer as a team. So to hear him say that there was something which made him more nervous than that, came as quite a concern for the quiet young man.
Naturally, the two girls in the dorm also reacted the same.
''Wait, wait, it's not something bad or anything!'' Jaune notices their growing concern and quickly explains.
Jaune exhaled and inwardly thought, I knew the day when I told them about it would come eventually, but it's making me more nervous than I thought. Jaune opened his mouth and was about to say but words couldn't properly slip out, leaving him uttering incoherent words that Ren, Pyrrha, and Nora couldn't understand.
Noticing their clear confusion, with the obvious glaring one being Nora tilted her head cutely while staring at him. ''I-I-I'm dating team Rwby! And I… I plan to introduce them to my parents!!''
After finally confessing his biggest secret to his team, Jaune releases a breath he didn't know he was holding, ready for the big reaction yet to come. However, strangely… the reaction he was expecting never came.
Instead, there was only a complete silence, an unsurprised expression on his team's face. The lack of reaction completely caught him off guard and left him, the one dropping the bombshell, confused.
''Ugh… fearless leader, we already know about that. He…'' Nora said, rubbing her left cheek.
''Y-yeah, Jaune, we kinda noticed for a while.'' Forced to come to terms with things for the last few months, Pyrrha was faring much better.
''W-wait! Hold on a minute! You guys knew about me—me dating team RWBY!? How!?'' Shocked, Jaune asked.
While Jaune knew Ren saw him kissing Ruby and already believed that boy likely believed he was already dating the cookie-loving team leader. However, he didn't know that Ren would also know about his relationship with the other members of Team RWBY
''Well Jaune, you and them weren't very discreet.'' Ren bluntly answers, even deadpanning at his friend somewhat.
At Ren's blunt reply, Jaune thought back to his interaction with the girls in Team RWBY and immediately realized he was basically shouting to the world that he was dating them. Jaune's shoulder slumped down, the so-called secret might as well have been no secret!
''But why did you bother hiding it?'' Ren asked the question that the rest were eager to know.
''Well, y'know—dating more than one person is not exactly the norm.'' Jaune turned his head sideways, rubbed his cheek with his forefinger, and revealed why he didn't tell them.
''You shouldn't Jaune-Jaune, Vale has no laws against polygamy! I found out about it recently as well!'' Nora said, excited to share her knowledge.
