Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Uchiha Yu

[1 Hour Before the Night of the Massacre]

A full moon hung high in the night sky, its bright light casting a silver glow over the buildings and streets of the Hidden Leaf Village in the Land of Fire.

Uchiha Clan District.

Police Force Detention Center.

On the rooftop, blood flowed like a river. The corpses of Uchiha Police Force members lay strewn across the ground. Blood dripped from their eye sockets—each had lost their Sharingan.

In the center of the pile of corpses—

A young man stood in the uniform of the Uchiha Police Force. He had short black hair, a handsome face, and held a ninja blade. His posture was upright and calm.

[Side Mission: Evolve the Sharingan]

[Requirement: Absorb the ocular power of 50 pairs of Sharingan]

[Mission Complete]

[Reward: Yasakani no Magatama – Mangekyō]

Uchiha Yu panted heavily. Suddenly, the three tomoe in his eyes spun, transforming into the sharp, triple-blade design of the Mangekyō Sharingan.

A surge of power erupted in his brain—wild and chaotic, like a waterfall forcefully flooding every nerve and pathway in his mind, overloading his senses.

Blood vessels spread across his eyes. He breathed through both mouth and nose, and within just over ten seconds, adapted to the destructive and violent mental energy.

His aura turned ominous.

An explanation of his new ability surfaced in his mind.

Yasakani no Magatama:

"Chakra from the Mangekyō can imprint itself on others through eye contact or physical touch, regardless of distance. Once marked, you can control their mind and chakra at will through the imprint!"

Yu's lips curled into a smile.

He crouched down.

Using both hands, he carefully transferred a large number of Sharingan into a cylindrical liquid container.

The blood-red eyeballs were packed tightly, their gazes fixed in all directions against the glass—like some indescribably eerie, forbidden object.

Then—

He sealed the container into a storage scroll.

It had been one week since he arrived in Konoha.

With the help of the system missions, he had finally acquired proof of power in the ninja world: the Mangekyō Sharingan.

Though the Mangekyō's abilities still needed to be tested, he now qualified to defect from the Leaf.

At that moment, someone was still alive in the corner.

Uchiha Inaho leaned against the wall, covered in blood. He glared with his remaining three-tomoe left eye, witnessing the entire scene, and trembled as he shouted:

"Uchiha Yu! As one of the captains of the Police Force, you slaughtered your own clan to awaken the Mangekyō—you'll never meet a good end!!"

Yu tucked the scroll into his robe, glanced at the time, and walked toward Inaho, crouching before him.

"The Uchiha patrol teams should arrive in about one minute."

"I can spare a moment to chat."

"Inaho."

"You reported me for communicating with an S-rank rogue ninja."

"Then threw me in prison."

"After that, you took over all my duties in the Police Force—and finally, you came here to provoke me."

"That must've felt pretty good, huh?"

Inaho lowered his head in silence, his whole body trembling.

He had come to the detention center tonight—

To use the clan's torture devices on Yu, who appeared polite on the surface but had secretly colluded with rogue ninja and was now a prisoner.

As long as he didn't kill him, Fugaku, the clan leader, wouldn't mind.

But when Yu saw him, he lost control, activated his three-tomoe Sharingan, and massacred his way out of the prison.

With just one blade and himself alone, he butchered every Uchiha Police officer guarding the cell like a demon unleashed.

Yu's strength was beyond anything Inaho had imagined.

"You're mistaken. I didn't kill them just to awaken the Mangekyō. Normally, even killing them wouldn't have been enough."

Yu paused for a moment, then smiled and added:

"Oh right. The letter you intercepted—the one showing I was in contact with the rogue ninja? I let you catch that."

Inaho's pupils dilated. He replayed the events in his mind, connecting the details one by one. His face went pale with dread.

"The guards on duty tonight were all your subordinates. And the three patrol teams rushing here—led by Izumi, Minami, and Tamao—they were all arranged on shift before I was imprisoned."

Yu stood up slowly and continued:

"I knew that with your personality, you'd only make a move if both the inside and outside of the detention center were under your control."

As the two spoke on the rooftop under the moonlight, nine shadowy figures leapt rapidly across the rooftops, quickly approaching.

"What are you really after?!"

Inaho roared with all his strength.

He was trying to stall.

Trying to buy time for reinforcements.

Yu turned his gaze away from the incoming figures and gently patted Inaho on the shoulder—as if saying farewell to an old friend.

"To survive in the ninja world."

"Don't worry."

"I don't like owing favors. From now on, as long as I, Uchiha Yu, am alive—

The Uchiha name will continue in this ninja world with dignity."

After saying that, Yu didn't linger. He sheathed his ninja blade on his back, walked to the edge of the rooftop, spread his arms wide, and fell backwards off the ledge, leaving behind a final statement:

"Inaho, open your last remaining three-tomoe eye and watch clearly what's about to happen in the Uchiha district!"

As he fell, Yu flipped mid-air, landed in a crouch with perfect balance, then used the Body Flicker Technique to vanish across the streets, heading toward the forest on the village outskirts.

"He killed so many clan members… and claims it was for the Uchiha... He won't get away. Clan Head Fugaku and Itachi won't let him go!"

Inaho's heart sank into despair. His lips trembled as he muttered weakly.

Whoosh—

Nine ninja clad in Uchiha Police Force uniforms landed one after another beside Inaho.

Among them were both men and women. As they looked around, their scalps tingled with shock and confusion. All of them froze in place.

The corpses of their clansmen were scattered across the rooftop, the stairwell, and the streets around the detention center.

The stench of blood filled the air.

Most of the bodies had been killed with a single precise strike—clean, efficient, without any excess wounds.

This was the first time any of them had seen the Uchiha pay such a devastating price in combat.

Inaho widened his one remaining three-tomoe eye and recognized the leaders of the three patrol teams. His heart completely sank.

Leading the squads were none other than Uchiha Izumi, Uchiha Minami, and Uchiha Tamao—the very names Yu had mentioned.

"What… what the hell happened here?"

Izumi stood frozen, her face pale. She seemed on the verge of breaking down.

She had waist-length hair, large expressive eyes, and a teardrop mole beneath her right eye. At this moment, her gaze was filled with disbelief and terror.

"It was Yu," Inaho said weakly.

Izumi trembled all over.

In her mind, she pictured the one who had mentored her—the warm, gentle, always-smiling captain who felt like a spring breeze.

"That's impossible… Captain Yu would never kill so many of his own clan!"

Uchiha Tamao's forehead bulged with veins. He grabbed Inaho by the collar, drew his ninja blade, and held it to Inaho's neck, growling:

"Even if Captain Yu did kill them, he was doing them a favor—freeing them!"

Tamao had a baby face, but when he got angry, he was like a wild beast ready to devour anything in his path.

Inaho stared at him coldly.

After a pause, Tamao said firmly, "Even if Captain Yu killed all those people, it was to give them peace!"

"Heh… No wonder—you're the lunatic Yu rescued from the psych ward. He could kill your parents and you'd still defend him?"

Inaho glared at him with his remaining eye and growled through his teeth.

"Captain Yu doesn't like killing people!"

Inaho: "???"

He'd forgotten—Tamao's parents were already dead.

Everyone paused in confusion.

Just then, a black shadow rushed forward and shoved Tamao aside—it was Uchiha Minami, the one wearing glasses.

"You bastard!!!"

Tamao turned to lash out, but Izumi stepped in to stop him.

Unlike the others, Minami wasn't one of Yu's former subordinates.

"Enough! Everyone shut up!" Minami snapped, turning to Inaho. "Which direction did Uchiha Yu escape in?"

Inaho lifted his hand and pointed toward the forest at the edge of the village.

"After him!!"

Minami's face was dark with anger, but before he could move, Tamao, already anxious, had leapt ahead with two teammates, flickering toward the forest.

No matter what had happened—

As the patrol squad on duty tonight, it was their responsibility to pursue the perpetrator.

Izumi and Minami exchanged a glance, then followed with their teams close behind.

Inaho still couldn't understand Yu's goal.

The others surged forward, full of confusion, frustration, and fury. Nine silhouettes flickered under the moonlight, diving into the forest.

Whoosh—

A flock of birds scattered in alarm. The nine Uchiha leapt from branch to branch when suddenly—

A chilling danger washed over them. They stopped in their tracks, faces grim, hearts pounding, and drew their blades.

Moonlight filtered through the trees onto the ground.

From within that dappled light, a tall and familiar figure emerged slowly. He looked up—his eyes blooming with the triple-blade Mangekyō pattern.

"Everyone. Long time no see.

We'll catch up…

Later.

For now—please help me test out my new Mangekyō."

Uchiha Yu smiled. His Mangekyō spun silently in his eyes.

"Yasakani no Magatama—"
