At Titan Tower, Kori was pacing up and down, Damian was checking the security scanners and trackers while Nightwing and the others were suited up. They were worried about Raven. The Justice League asked for their help to bring down some villains. Garfield saw her being hit by the villain she was fighting against. Then the villain lying unconscious close to a shop but they never saw her. Robin tried to find her with the tracker he placed on her, but it didn't work. It was like the trackers stopped working. Then he suddenly saw the tracker revive on its own about the same time a portal opened up in their Titan living room. He looked at the screen and then the girl who came out of the portal. Kori rushed to her and hugged her. "Are you okay? Were you hurt"She asked. Raven chuckled at the older girl's motherly antics. "I'm fine. Don't worry"she assured her. "Where were you? We've been looking for you"Kori said making Raven cringe. Damian noticed this from his position. "I was in the middle of a fight when my powers got drained and I fell. I got saved by someone who helped me regain my strength before coming back. I'm fine, there's no need to be worried."Raven explained. Kori sighed in relief and hugged her again."Don't do that to us again. You could have called us." Garfield said. "We're glad you are back"Nightwing said patting her back. She turned to Damian who gave her an unconvinced look ' Only he can tell when I don't tell the complete story ' she thought.
Damian was sure that there was more to the story than she was letting on, he wanted to ask who saved her but refrained from that when he saw secret pleading look which proved she was hiding something important, what important detail she refused to talk about was unknown to him. He was sure it had to do with the mystery person who saved her.
After getting her head full of her teammates chatter and questions except for Damian's which she was grateful for, she decided to take a shower. Walking to her room she saw the said boy with arms crossed waiting for her. She chuckled at the sight. Her healing him kind of linked them together.
"I don't understand how you could tolerate that much physical contact without snapping at them."he said "So Damian Wayne was worried about me"she said making him snicker. "You wish, I just didn't want my capable teammate to disappear."he said. She looked at him shocked "Very well then. Thanks " she said. "For what"he asked but she shrugged. "See you tomorrow. I need to take a shower" she said, giving him a smile before going into her room.
Damian shook his head. ' Why does her smile affect me. I know she's trying to keep me from asking her for information' he thought. He knew at one point or the other she'll talk to him so he decided to wait for then and watch her closely.
The next morning Raven got up very early to meditate. For the first time in months she slept well. It was like her powers were refreshed or renewed. She didn't feel her father weighing her down. It felt nice.
"Can I join you"a voice called behind her. Damn it, she knew that voice. She nodded then he sat down close to her. He was holding two cups of tea and gave her one. "Thank you"she said and he nodded. They sat down in silence for an hour without saying anything. She was meditating slightly hovering above the ground while he just looked at the skies quietly sipping his tea.
They were always the first to wake up and it wasn't the first time they have been in a position like now and it won't be the last. Damian stared at her with the corner of his eye. She looked peaceful and calm. She wasn't struggling to keep her calm it was already there.
Raven felt his stares but shrugged it off. It was already 6, meaning the sun 🌞 will appear soon so she had to stop meditating.
After some minutes she felt the sun's energy. Opening her eyes she watched the best part of her mornings, sunrise. "Beautiful isn't it" he said and for some reasons he looked at her when he said 'beautiful'. Her eyes widen a little "Yeah. It is"she replied.
She looked back at the sun then felt his stares again only turning to find him smacking his head. She was amused and concerned at the same time. "Are you okay"she asked "I'm fine"he replied waving her off.
' What's wrong with you Damian. You can't stare at her like that. Control yourself' he thought. "Will you join me for training" he asked. She looked at him then his face turned to a grin "Except you are scared that I'll win" he said. It was Damian Wayne and he always had to say something snarky. "I accept your challenge"she replied with a matching grin.
After combating for an hour "Next time I won't ask for a match when you're in such a mood. In fact, remind me to be on your side and not against you."he said. "Nice choice, Damian Wayne" she replied with a smirk. "But you still haven't beat me yet" he replied smirking also. "Whatever, it's a tie" she said. Then she grabbed a towel and headed for her room leaving him to continue his training.
An idea sparked in her head. She showered and put on her uniform walking towards the kitchen she got some snacks for the fridge. When she turned she ran into Damian and lost her balance. His hands held her waist stopping her mid fall. She looked up at him, his eyebrows furrowed as he stared back at her. They already had a connection but that position they were in was deepening that connection. That was the time the alarm decided to beep breaking that perfect moment. "Thanks" she said. Raising her up before gently releasing his hold on her waist he said."No problem. Are you okay. It seemed you were rushing somewhere".
She couldn't lie to him and she knew it. The only thing she could do was nod a yes. "Oh" was all he said. She sat down as she ate pizza. "Is that what you're eating for breakfast" Damian asked. "Um yeah. Starfire is not up yet. Neither is the rest of the team apart from you. I need to go somewhere so I can't stay to prepare food" Raven replied. "Looking at you, I don't think you want the team up" he said knowingly. ' Of course he'll know. Sometimes I hate this bond I created. It makes it easy for him to see through me and I can't hide some things I naturally want to hide ' she thought.
Quickly finishing her meal with Damian seating opposite her with arms crossed she cleared her plate and met him back there. "If there's any problem, call me" she said. She smiled at him before walking into the portal. When she walked in he brought out his tracing device, he lost track of her again. His guess the so-called person that helped her.
Raven walked into the alley a girl stood backing her. "I knew you would come back, Raven."the girl said not for once turning back. "How did you know I was the one, I never for once made a sound"Raven asked. The girl finally turned. "I have my ways" she said. Then she walked into the light. Raven was stunned by what she saw. The girl's hair was in a bun with few strands left undone at the sides. She was wearing a pink flare gown a little bit above her knees, white fancy sandals and butterfly hair pin, it was simple but beautiful. "Wow you look amazing" Raven said. "Thanks" she replied. "One question. Did you sleep here"Raven asked. "No, but I wish I did. The hotel was noisy and all. I prefer it quiet" she said. "You should know why I'm here" Raven said after some minutes. "I can guess. Sit" she said. Raven sat on the rock "I want to take you somewhere but we need to blend in. So I think you need to change your outfit starting with your hair" the girl continued. "What's wrong with my hair"Raven asked. "Nothing. Just that we need to blend in and your hair is a little short but that's not a problem" she said walking closer to Raven, she started messing with her hair. "What are you doing"Raven asked when she felt a glow in her hair. "Restyling"the girl answered. After few minutes, "Here, done" the girl said giving Raven a mirror.
Raven look at herself in the mirror. She stared at her reflection for what felt like hours. "You might want to close your mouth or you'll catch flies" the girl said smirking feeling proud of her work then she realized she was gawping. Of course, another Damian. "You killed my hair" Raven said in feigned annoyance. "No, I fixed it." She said. "Thanks"Raven replied. "You are welcome. Now take this and change" she said handing her a a fancy bag.
Raven change into the dress. As expected she looked beautiful. Her hair was longer and styled like the girl's own. Her clothes were like the girl's but blue and purple.
"Beautiful. Can I take a picture"she said bringing out a phone. Raven looked at her in surprise. "Yeah. I guess."she said. Then she took some shots. "Let's go"the girl said.
