As I look into the void around me I wonder how the hell I got myself into this. The last thing to remember was going to a movie theater. Then I got a notification on my phone about a new serious posted by the author of soul land. Probably one of the few cultivation systems I actually like that come from the cultivation of genre. But I digress as I got this notification I suddenly felt an extreme heat wash over me before everything turned black and I ended up in this void. I then saw a entity up here before me it was a giant blob of flesh pulsing and contorting constantly with one big guy in the center of the mass and so far I can see it looked like a beholder from dungeons & dragons except for there was a giant skeleton connected to the backside of it leading into some kind of dragon skeleton crossed with a spider's exoskeleton.
Then I heard the creature speak even though I did not have a mouth whatsoever.
"My oh my this is rather interesting a human soul able to exist within the void rather peculiar but entertaining. Greetings little soul I don't believe you can understand my name or comprehend it so I'll just simply introduce myself as one."
I worked my eyebrow or at least I feel I have quirked my eyebrow at the creatures introduction but I decided to push most of the questions I have outside of my head for the simple fact that I probably won't be able to get answer for most of them. So I decided to simply asked the one question I will probably get answer for.
"Judging you refer to me as a soul I assume I am dead and judging from the first part of your sentence I am assuming I'm not meant to be here."
I heard a rather amused chuckle from one. And I personally didn't know how to describe it since it sounded like it was both feminine like jingling bells but also masculine like a deep gravelly voice right disturbing but ultimately given I don't understand a thing about this creature I will just throw it up to something being normal.
"You are correct little soul on both accounts and there are several options for you to be dealt with and typically I just erase your mind memories and all that and send you off to the wheel of reincarnation. But you're rather interesting so I'll be generous and give you several options to choose from."
I nodded my head to signify I understand and wait for one To begin speaking the options.
"Option one is that I send you to the wheel of reincarnation wiping your memories and making you a blank soul and you go the natural way like everyone else... But I'm guessing you won't choose this option so we'll move on to option two."
I soon saw the number one crossed out. Then I saw four other numbers being 2 through 5. Up here before me the number two began to Glow.
"The second option is to reincarnate into a world of your choosing but you won't be able to really get anything of real value since you'll be sent to a timeline that has branched off from the main story so you won't be guaranteed any real advantages and even if you do gain some it will be very minor."
Nodding my head understanding this if the other three options weren't good this one will probably be the one I picked.
"Option 3 this one is similar to option two except for you will be guaranteed it to end up as related to someone from the main cast of your favorite anime, TV show or series. But you're not guaranteed to really be able to change anything in the story besides maybe some minor things such as a supporting heroin falling in love with you instead of the main character and such."
Listen to the third option I couldn't help but shake my head and it seemed as soon as I did The entity crossed out option 3 and it went with the first option on the side.
"Option 4: I send you to a timeline of one of your favorite shows anime or series regardless of any of those three categories that timeline is considered a dead timeline meaning it is reached its end and it'll basically be trying to prolong the existence of that timeline with a system. That will add you in the extent of that purpose."
I just waited for him to list off the final option I guess honestly option four doesn't sound all that good.
"Finally option 5 the one where I believe you'll choose most likely of these options. Which is to be transport to a blank world. In this blank world will be of your creation you'll choose the power system that the world will follow and since it'll be an empty world besides yourself you'll be given a system to plunder other worlds of around equal threat level to your own. You'll be able to summon characters from various shows animes and series that you like. They would lose all their powers from their original world or their powers from their original world will be converted into equivalent of your power system. I will give an example let's say you summon a character from a text sci-fi oriented series and your world is a magical cultivation world their abilities would basically be converted into something that will fit that world's setting."
Hearing this I immediately pointed my finger at option 5 as all the other options represented by numbers disappeared as one speaks.
"Very well now begin explaining your power system and because you've been rather more patient compared to the others I've encountered before I'll let you choose 4 people to be summoned alongside of you and they will be made aware of their circumstances or you can go with the random pool option and at the center of your starting area there will be an altar and you'll start off with a house but the altar will only have a single charge which can only be refilled by obtaining resources from you know what I feel gracious you have a challenge tower along with your starting area."
Nodding my head I rub my chin like I always have when I was thinking before speaking up after a while.
"All right the power system I'll choose is the one from soul land and I'll go with a second option having a house summoning alternate and the challenge Tower."
One nodded his head calmly before his eyes flash and I disappeared from the void and appeared in the blank world as I look around I know that there was a nope strap to The house's door I pulled it off and began to read.
"Hey little soul. I forgot to tell you something the Tower is relatively weak and won't be able to help you much. And I may have lied about a few things such as you're not the only one who received this opportunity there are a few hundred others and you and them are entering a big old war against each other it's something me and the others. Do quite often because we find it entertaining."
My eyes shrink after reading this part shaking my head quite quickly I then start to read the rest of.
"Basically how the challenge Tower works is that it gets stronger with each new world you assimilate adding new floors new enemies and refreshes the previously cleared levels. Updates them and make some stronger to compensate for your ever growing strength. And the two choices I gave you about having four people with you or just spawning in by yourself with a starting kit was offered up to each and every competitor In this war for our entertainment. And only approximately 20% of all competitors had chosen the same as you. So vast majority of your fellow competitors have the advantage in numbers but honestly not everyone should end up choosing the same power system. So don't need to worry there's a possibility that even if your opponent has the advantage their power system makes them very much weaker than you so maybe you'll get lucky anyway hope you enjoy however long you survive will be enjoying ourselves with some popcorn and watching you all kill each other so have fun. Oh and before I forget again inside the shack in front of me there is a marshall soul Awakening array just step on it drop a bit of your blood and you can awaken your martial soul. Oh and you are more likely never to awaken anything you saw in the soul land series but as compensation you will be able to instinctly know if something is the ultimate variant of an element or not"
After I finish reading the note I sat down quietly staring off into space feeling quite annoyed. But soon enough I shook my head and walked inside my house to find the array that was mentioned in the note as I stand in the middle of it I bit my thumb hard enough to draw blood and let the blood drop onto the array and soon it glowed as I felt something seems to grow within me until it finally manifested into my right hand.
It was a long sword about 4 ft for the blade and a foot and a half for the handle. As I hold it in my hands I saw it sparking with electricity but not normal electricity nope because I recognize this type of lightning from a game I played before this lightning is Frost lightning. Basically a fusion between lightning and ice and that just has high damage but also can freeze an opponent give them frostbite. Rubbing my chin I decided to name this martial soul Frozen storm blade. Because why not I was bad at naming things anyway.
After a few minutes I found a tingling in my body wants more soon emerged a spectral beast or those familiar with soul land a beast type martial soul as I looked up I see it was a large ice blue demon with electricity crackling around it. The same lightning that is crackling around my blade. As I felt it I nodded my head as I simply decided to call the frost thunder demon. And I feel that both it and my sword both have a fusion of ultimate lightning and ultimate ice which meant my Frost lightning is an ultimate element.
