Chapter 42 - 10

** Chapter 10: The Police and Thief - Deadly hunting under the lights of hope **

When the country's slow morning light reached the extended shadows of the underground island, each beam seemed to whisper unfathomable secrets about the heart of the world. The fabric of the previous challenge, an intertwined despair and triumph, still hung over the shoulders of the competitors. And yet, without a moment of hesitation, the petty and sagazly conceived universe by ** Henrique Nakamura ** persisted in its intrepid and inexorable course.

The master of ceremonies came again, as an inevitable and ubiquitous entity, commanding the attention of the set of indolent souls. His words were the punctuation of fate: stones thrown into a pond of deadly consequences.

- "Fearless and vulnerable souls, it's time to dive into another puzzle created by our imagination. Today, you will engage in the old and venerable game of ** police and thief **. But like all things here on the island, we will exchange the game with something darker, more real, more ... terminal."

He watched, an air of satisfaction hanging around him while expanding his gleaming decree:

- "Again, we will let apparent justice choose your roles. A roulette will decide which of you will be ** police **, armed with the power to literally capture or ... extinguish. ** Thieves ** between you will need speed and wit to reach the finish line. For them, a victory is a whisper of hope. For the police, a resonate victory as a sentence."

---

### ** The Roulette of Destination **

The competitors gathered around the roulette, a macabre and elaborate creation that behaved like a living creature, hungry for the indecisive touch of the gamblers. As it turned, each click reverberated in the souls of the present, each waiting and fearing its fado indomitable.

#### ** The chosen papers **

** Police (armed for hunting): **

1. ** Hardy Nakamura **

2. ** Leerstrom **

3. ** Irene Dellis **

** thieves (those who should run): **

1. ** Drake **

2. ** Calley **

3. ** TowerFall **

The two groups were preparing, just echoing the silent and irremediable murmur that already joined them to their destination.

---

### ** The game starts **

The police were armed with arcs, each arrow glowing in obscurity with a deadly promise. The thieves, elastics and ardent of determination, were prepared for an escape that could lead them to freedom ... or death.

When the sign was finally given by Henry, a crash that sounded almost divine in the cosmos scepter, the game began.

#### ** Hunters **

** Hardy Nakamura **, as much as that function disgusted, was determined to fulfill what was in charge. His conscience a moral compass that always remained, even when the way was dark. He set his sights at ** TowerFall **, knowing well that the boar was able to move as fast as it is brutal.

** Leerstrom **, on the other hand, hunted with a look of pure delight at the ends of the lips, savoring chaos as a source of visceral joy.

** Irene Dellis **, with severe eyes, struggled to balance aggression with compassion. I knew everyone was entitled to life.

#### ** The fugitives **

** Drake **, I felt the savagery in the race, each breathed a fight for freedom. The finish line called him away, promising refuge between the welcoming arms of non-parting.

** CALLEY **, ran with exacerbated ferocity, its indomitable spirit a pulse of lethal energy between the shadows.

** TowerFall **, the most feared of the thieves, knew that his brute strength was as venerated as misunderstanding. The world became a kinetic blur around him as he sought the post-containment line.

---

### ** The outcome of the challenge **

The minutes ran much faster than anyone could predict; The tissue itself seemed intertwined in the game. The arrows zombie through the air, a sharp threat choir focused on the destruction of fugitives.

Near the penultimate curve, ** Hardy ** hesitated, his arrow about to find Flesh, but lowered, a gesture that delimited a line between revenge and honor.

** TowerFall ** stumbled upon suddenly, while ** Leerstrom **, shielded against the weight of moral decisions, caused his gun to slide through the air like a hungry being, directly to his target.

** Drake ** and ** Calley **, the strength under their legs almost failed, found the finish line with their whole souls, a minimal but infinite consummation in importance.

Only then, when the dust began to lower, Henry is again unshakable in his eloquent ferocity throne.

- "They have done the dance, and I'm pleased." He stopped, his smile a masterpiece of mystery and judgment. "Today, the thieves have survived. Police, recognize their impetus ... because he may not be on his shoulders next time."

And so the challenge ended, but its echo continued to resonate through the veins of the reckless ones that ran into the ever -distant thread of hope that separates the living from the lost lost.
