Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

"Are you okay?" Xavier asked.

"No, I broke my wrist. So how can I be okay? It hurts so badly, Xav," Iris said, crying.

"Did I ask you a question, you dumbhead?" Xavier replied coldly.

Deyna and Iris were both stunned by his words.

"Yes, I'm alright," Deyna said with a sly smile tugging at her lips.

"Xavier, how can you do that? She hurt me. So how can you act like she's okay instead of taking me to the hospital?" Iris cried out in disbelief.

"See, woman, if you're done with your drama, you can leave," Xavier said. "Alright, you're exhausted. I won't leave here today nor tomorrow unless you punish her or send me to the hospital," Iris said, clenching her jaw.

"We can do it the hard way, Ms. Holloway," Xavier said darkly. "Marcus, Lucas, come here. I have a job for you."

Lucas entered, followed by Marcus. "Whoa! Sister... Oh, I mean Ms. Deyna. I never thought you were this beautiful," Lucas said as he stepped closer, his tone teasing.

Those compliments made Iris burn with fury even more.

I am the one that should be complimented. I'm the one they should be looking at. But all this didn't happen because of this so-called secretary and fiancée. I don't know much, but I know exactly what to do next, Iris thought.

"Xavier, please, would you help me up?" Iris asked sweetly, her tone suddenly gentle.

"Who is Xavier? Who is this maluddy vixen?" Lucas asked, blinking in mock confusion.

"Iris," Xavier answered curtly.

"Do you mean your childhood friend, Iris Holloway?" Lucas asked again, just to be sure.

"Yes," Xavier responded lightly.

"But I think she resembles Chloe from Immortals. Or better yet, Chloe is way more beautiful than her," Lucas taunted.

"Iris, I think you should use less makeup unless your goal is to resemble a ghost," Lucas added without mercy.

"Lucas, take Iris away," Xavier commanded.

"No, no, no, no. I don't want to get infected by her!" Lucas exclaimed dramatically. "But I don't know how to make her get out either."

With a heavy sigh, Lucas walked over, grabbed Iris by the hair, and yanked her to her feet. Despite her protests, he pulled her away, grumbling the whole time.

Marcus gave a polite bow before leaving as well.

Now, only Xavier and Deyna remained in the office.

"You can go continue your work," Xavier said calmly.

"Wait, Xavier… do you have a fiancée?" Deyna asked, her voice filled with curiosity.

"Yes. But she doesn't know me," Xavier replied, a small, amused smile playing on his lips.

"What?" Deyna blinked in surprise. "What a coincidence… I also don't know my fiancée."

"So, what's her name?" she asked, tilting her head slightly.

"You'll know later who she is," Xavier said, keeping that same mysterious tone.

"And you? Do you know your fiancée's name?"

"I don't even know his name," Deyna admitted, her expression softening. "It was a huge shock when my mother told me I had a rich fiancé. I knew they just wanted to use me… like some kind of lucky charm or prophet. So, I ran away from home. I wanted to make my own way in the world. And I've never even met the guy."

So that's why she ran away at such a young age… Xavier thought. I always assumed she eloped or something…

"I am your fiancé," Xavier muttered under his breath.

"What did you just say?" Deyna asked, eyebrows furrowing. "I thought I heard something like 'I'm your fiancé.'"

"Oh… I was just saying your fiancé will surely love you," Xavier quickly covered, trying not to let the smirk take over his face.

Deyna narrowed her eyes at him. "Weird… maybe there's a ghost whispering nonsense in my ears," she said before turning around. "Anyway, I'll get back to my work."

She walked back to her office, unaware of Xavier's amused expression and the truth he was holding back.

Xavier shouted for both Lucas and Marcus. They entered quickly and stood beside him.

"Let's watch the video and see something," Xavier said.

"You know the kind of eyes Deyna has? They're very rare," Xavier pointed out.

"Those electric blue eyes. And I swear I've seen those eyes somewhere before. Maybe in the underworld. I'm not trying to make any accusations, but she does resemble someone… maybe she's a spy." Lucas concluded.

"Just shut up and watch the video," Xavier cut in, eyes fixed on the screen.

All three focused on the footage. Suddenly, Marcus shouted.

"Pause it!"

Xavier looked at him, brow raised.

"I'd like to say something, but please don't get mad," Marcus said hesitantly.

"Speak," Xavier ordered.

"I think she resembles… I mean—" Marcus stammered.

"Just shut the fuck up if you can't say it," Xavier snapped.

"I think she has the same eye features and body structure as Stormy Thunder," Marcus finally said, swallowing hard.

"What? That can't be possible," Lucas blurted.

"I have a picture of Stormy Thunder's eyes," Marcus added.

"Bring it. Let's scan the eyes," Xavier instructed.

Marcus quickly pulled up the image and ran a scan, comparing it to the footage. The results fluctuated neither confirming nor denying a match.

"Xavier, this can't be possible," Lucas said. "Because the day you anyway, every time you ask me to check on Deyna, you always end up seeing Stormy Thunder at those underworld meetings. And I've been watching her closely at college. I don't think there's a connection."

Xavier leaned back, thinking hard.

"There are three possibilities," he said finally. "First, the eyes are just rare and it's a coincidence. Second, she and Stormy Thunder resemble each other. Third—"

He paused.

"Third possibility is that Deyna is the missing twin sister of Stormy Thunder," he finished seriously.

Marcus nodded slowly. "That's all we can think of for now. But I still don't believe Deyna could be Stormy Thunder. She's too innocent to be that ruthless. And we all know how brutal Stormy Thunder can be. She never lowers herself to guilt."

Xavier said nothing, his gaze still fixed on the frozen screen, a storm brewing in his eyes.
