Ruby: Why did you even pick that from the mall? How are we supposed to cook it?
Jack: Doesn't matter. Maggi tastes good raw — and we'll eat the seasoning too.
(Everyone starts eating.)
Jin: This might be our last meal.
Jisu: Don't say that. We'll find more food.
Ruby: Water's low too. I've got just two bottles left.
Jin: Roy… is it true they're going to bomb this area?
(Silence falls. Roy, with a pie stuffed in his mouth, nods nervously.)
Fiona (seriously): We'll go to my house.
Jack: Fiona, don't decide in a rush. Take your—
Fiona (cutting him off): No, Jack. Don't talk like we have all the time in the world. We've got maybe 24 hours. Searching for another place might take too long.
Ruby: But Fiona—
FIONA
We can't escape at night. The streets are overrun. If I can give you a chance to survive, I will.
(beat)
But please… don't hurt my parents. Just tie them up. If it gets bad… don't let me see it. Just cover them.
The group goes quiet. Jisu gently touches Fiona's hand.
JISU
You don't have to carry it alone.
FIONA
Then tell me another way.

(quiet but firm)
She's right. What if we sleep and wake up in flames?
RUBY
(sternly)
19 Century!
FIONA
He's right. I already lost them. But I can still save you.
JACK
I promise. We'll do everything we can. No rods, no violence.
FIONA
(tearing up)

(softly)

Jack -
can you walk us through the layout of the building... so we can plan
FIONA
(sniffles, then composes herself)
Okay. The lower floors are risky—probably full of zombies. But I live on the 5th. I can use the keys instead of the digital lock, it won't beep...
She explains while everyone listens closely
Jack:
Alright. Everything's set. We'll finalize our positions tomorrow. For now, everyone try to get some rest.
(They all settle down. Jisu and Jin hold hands as siblings, Jack sleeps against the wall, and the others sleep wherever they can. But Fiona can't sleep. She gazes at the stars. Suddenly, she hears Ruby talking in her sleep.)
RUBY
(murmuring)
Don't worry, Fiona… I'll save you… and your parents…
