This chapter doesn't have much combat, but it's important to build the foundation of what Sunny needs to do at this time. For the chapters going forward, I look forward to writing combat, I do have experience in writing it. Enjoy the sunphis moments tho.
================================================================================
A Dark Knight roamed the halls of a cathedral inside the dark city of the forgotten shore, not knowing a treacherous shadow had already set its sight on its life. However, that's not to happen yet.
Sunny, who was watching everything from a high vantage point, let out a sigh, turned around, made his way to the window of his room, and jumped out. He landed on the streets in the shadows and stealthily traveled through them.
He was wearing the [Nebulous Mantle], which was basically a garment he created to suppress his essence as a saint in Bastion, so everyone thought he was a master; now it was going to work in helping him keep the guise of being a sleeper instead of a master.
"I got regressed to 1 month after I left the cohort," he thought and clicked his tounge, "tsk, I thought forgotten shores would be an easy ride with me being an ascended titan, but now that I've planned everything I need to do, the work is overwhelming." he looked down at his shadows, "especially now that I'm not a saint and can't manifest my shadows into incarnations I'll have to do all the work myself," he sighed and looked at the 7 shadows overlapping each other so they seem like one deep shadow, it'll pass of as his normal shadow.
Sunny wanted to kill the fallen devil in the cathedral as soon as he saw it, and it wouldn't have been hard either, after all, their ranks were the same, but Sunny's class was the highest, still-
Sunny's eyes narrowed as he noted his body's condition, "When I first saw my rank, I thought things would be easy." Sunny looked at his hands and body in general, "But, my soul was suddenly changed into an ascended while my body is in the waking world, normally, one would become ascended through the second nightmare, but my situation is unique to say the least." he sighed, "either way, my body isn't use to the shadow dance, I may know what I have to do but my body doesn't, I'll have to train this body from scratch for my sword style." he thought.
Sunny had left the fallen devil in the cathedral alive for his future training. There are only a few fallen abominations he knows of in the forgotten shore, and he was going to use them for his breakthroughs in the shadow dance while using awakened and dormant ones to practice the shadow dance. Of course, if he wanted it dead, he could kill it himself, with normal combat styles, or just his raw superiority in physical abilities, or even send one of his shadows, but that wasn't the point.
Divine creatures like the gods and daemons did not need weapons to become stronger; they used tools and skills to bend the world to their will. Sunny wanted to use the minimum level of weapon augmentations and use his own powers as a way to become stronger.
So, the fallen creatures are for his practice to reach a breakthrough.
Another thing he noted is that his looks hadn't changed that much, even though he is an ascended, his looks were similar to when he was a sleeper.
"Maybe it's because my body is still in the waking world?" Usually, when someone becomes ascended, it happens by the second nightmare, and they come back to the waking world. If they have a body, they wake up in it; if they don't, the spell makes them a new one. "Maybe it's because the way I ranked up was unique to say the least, but my look won't change till I go back to the real world? Actually, will my body work as a tether?"
Sunny shook his head, "I'll focus on what I have to do for now, there's no point in thinking about how I get out till I've secured a way for others to leave."
Sunny stopped at the top of the building and stretched out his shadow senses, as an ascended being, 25 kilometers (15.5 miles). It was almost nighttime, which means Nephis and the cohort will go out for a hunt, and he needed to talk to her before he started putting his plan into motion.
When his shadow sense reached the cohort's base, a smile came to Sunny's face as he felt nephis again, his nephis.
Then a slight frown appeared as well, and his eyebrows furrowed as he remembered her dead body, her lifeless head in his lap. Then, Sunny's eyes narrowed dangerously, and his fist clenched, the shadows close to him started getting deeper, colder.
It was his years of training and battle experience that let him calm himself instantly, "calm down, lost from light, your here, back in time itself, ready to betray the gods that gave you a second chance, doesn't matter what I have to do, I won't let the future happen again, I won't lose anything or anyone." he thought and disappeared in a blur of speed going towards his friends.
When he got close enough, he slowed down and calmly walked to the reception they had made. While walking, he took a look around and saw the state everyone in the slums was living in with interest.
"Hmm, they don't have anything yet, but they seem happier and livelier than when I left the place than what I remember. Makes sense, last time I came 3 months after my departure, this time I'm back in a month, they have a lot to do," he thought as he entered a building and reached the reception. It was a young woman who looked up.
"Excuse me, I'm here to see Neph. If you could let me?" Sunny requested politely, basic manners he had picked up long ago, honing them as he served customers in his cafe back in the day.
The receptionist looked up, and a second later asked in confusion, "Ahh, who?" she asked.
Sunny blinked, "Ooh, right, they don't call her that," he thought and spoke again, "I mean, lady, Changing Star, I'm a close friend of hers," he said, that wasn't a lie, but Sunny was more than just a friend too.
The receptionist blinked, "Ahh yes, you used to be around Lady Changing Star and Lady Cassia, I can guide you," she said and pointed in some directions he already knew, and thanked her.
As Sunny made his way, his heartbeat quickened. He could sense his friends inside the meeting room they used; well, it was only Neph, Cassia, and Effie. Kai was missing, but judging by the timeline, he was still in the bright castle, and Sunny didn't plan on meeting him till the guy was in the well, just to make sure their friendship progressed the same way it did in the past.
When Sunny got to the door, he knocked politely. A few moments later, a voice came.
"Come in," it was Caster.
Hearing the legacy's voice made Sunny frown. He already knew he'll have to deal with Caster again, and that he won't be a problem this time, but still, knowing someone wants to kill Neph brought a sour taste in his mouth.
"Calm down, sunny, be logical," he thought, and opened the door dramatically.
When he did, all eyes were staring at him, except one; it was Cassie. She wasn't staring because... she's blind.
They were all standing around a table with seven chairs, with a map on it, and only Cassie was sitting. With 2 cross marks on it, letting Sunny know that Cassie had discovered 2 of the statues by now, in his timeline, they had pinpointed 6, but by the time he returned.
The silence made things weird for everyone, and since Cassie didn't know who was at the door, she asked first.
"Umm, why is no one talking? Who is at the door?" she asked in mild confusion.
Sunny studied the expression everyone had. Caster's eyebrows were raised, and a hidden expression of annoyance was clear to Sunny. Effie was just surprised since she didn't expect the 'Duffus' to return so soon, or at all. Surviving in the slums of Dark City was not an easy task, and to do it alone for a whole month was even harder.
Then Sunny's eyes landed on Neph. Her expression was neutral, but Sunny had known her for a long time, a every long time, which is why he was able to see all her emotions clearly. Well, even if it was Sunny from the past, he would have been able to see some of them, if not most.
Only Sunny could see the slight raise of her shoulders at seeing him after a month, the way she had blinked only once in surprise at seeing him suddenly, how her back straightened at seeing him unharmed, and the gleam in her eyes from the happiness of seeing Sunny again. Sunny also knew if it was the Neph from the future, she would have smiled seeing him, even if only a few hours had passed since they saw each other, regardless of the fact that she and Sunny slept in the same bed every night.
But he couldn't blame this neph, she just didn't have the memories of the futures, he was just happy that even though this version of neph had only spent a few months with Sunny, she still felt any emotion, much less happiness at seeing him, considering how reserved she was back then.
Sunny then finally looked at Cassie, who was still confused, "Right, she can't see us till she becomes a master," he thought, and finally spoke.
"Been a while, Cas, it's me, Sunny," he said calmly, making cassie raise he shoulders, since her eyes were always covered it was hard to tell what she felt, but the surprise of meeting sunny after a month was so great for her body moved, or in this case her shoulder raised and back straightened.
Sunny didn't betray any expression other than neutrality, Cassie is a seer, so of course, she was shocked to see Sunny now instead of 2 months later from now. In her eyes, Sunny had defeated fate.
Sunny briefly wondered if Cassie could see his new attributes, but that was for later; right now, he couldn't let his intentions waver; he was here to put his plans in motion.
Neph was the one to speak first, "Sunny, you're back," she said as she blinked. It sounded like she got a pleasant surprise.
Sunny let a small, casual smile come to his face. "Not exactly, I'm here to talk," he said, making others blink.
"Talk?" Caster repeated.
"Yes, talk, I wanted to, before I leave," Sunny replied, confusing the others.
"Leave? To where? If you don't know, there aren't many places you can go to in the forgotten shore," Effie said, and the others agreed, even if they didn't say it out loud.
Sunny gave a smile, close to a smirk, "Oh, nothing special, just going to places a sleeper would hundred percent die at," he said matter of factly, making the others frown.
"What place is he talking about?"
Only Sunny noticed the slight worry Neph and Cassie got at hearing his words. They knew he wasn't one to lie about such matters.
Neph stepped forward, "What does that mean, sunny? Where are you going exactly?"
Sunny stayed quiet for a second; his flaw was putting him through pain, but he was in the habit of going through some pain to make the right answers. Of course, this conversation was planned in his mind, he was just waiting for dramatics.
Then he spoke, "Oh, not one place, first I'm going to the labyrinth, then back to the soul devouring tree and then the edges of hollow mountains, so I won't be around for a while," he said with a smile like was talking about taking a walk in the park.
The others widened their eyes in shock, even if they didn't believe, just hearing him mention these names as sleepers was shocking enough, and he wanted to go there?!
Cassie was the first to speak, "Huh- sunny! What are you saying? Going to the labyrinth and the hollow mountains?! It's too dangerous, and one of them is a death zone!" she said in worry, then her hands came to her head in fear, "An-and, the sour devouring tree? why go back to that thing!?" she said, her voice didn't raise above the indoor voice but the fear was clear.
Neph walked to cassie and place a hand on her shoulder to help her calm down, but sunny could tell neph was slightly shaken by the memories of that damn tree too, she just hid it very well.
Sunny looked at them and smiled. At this period in time, Cassie was still that little girl who had made decisions that would burden her for years to come. However, this time things won't go the same way; this time, Sunny wanted to save Neph and Cassie both. This time, he knew and acknowledged his own feelings; this time, he had all the knowledge they needed to escape forgotten shore, and most of all, this time, he was strong enough to save everyone.
Neph looked at him, her hand still on Cassie's shoulder, "Sunny, why do you have to go there? What is your reason for doing something so dangerous?" she asked. This time, the worry was detected by both Sunny and Cassie.
Sunny looked at her again. he was glad she was worried about him. "I may have left the cohort, but in the end, we all want to get back to the waking world. I'm going to make some preparations."
Before anyone else spoke, Caster bud in, "I hope you're not here to ask for people or resources?" he asked, with an underlying tone of disdain.
The girls didn't like the tone he addressed Sunny with, including Effie; they didn't know what Sunny wanted, but Caster basically said he came to leech off of them after leaving a month ago.
Sunny smiled, "Don't worry about me, I don't need anything from you guys," he looked at neph, "like I said before, I was just here to talk to my friends, nothing more." he said.
Caster raised an eyebrow, "And what would that be?" he asked.
Sunny felt his flaw work slowly, but there were ways to counter it. If Sunny managed to convince Caster not to want an answer, the flaw would stop working, or he could give an answer that was specifically for him. Sunny decided to mix both.
"That's none of your business, why? Because you're not my friend," Sunny said with a smile, causing Effie to whistle at the remark.
Caster frowned, almost scoffed, but his oh great legacy reputation stopped him from doing so; he turned his head, "suit yourself."
"Would you mind leaving then? I'd like to talk to my friends alone," he said, and Caster looked at him for a second and made his way to the door as Sunny moved out of the way.
Effie sighed and walked to the door. "Guess I'm leaving then," she said. It was clear she meant she wasn't a friend.
Sunny wanted to object and say she was a friend, but it was her statement, not a question to him, and he had no reason to make a conversation he couldn't explain without mentioning his regression and let her pass him and out the door, shutting it before leaving.
Sunny looked at Neph and Cassie for a second and then walked towards them and took a seat at the corner of the table close to them. Keeping an appropriate distance, and unknown to the other two, making sure to stay a distance away from Cassie so she can't see his new attributes. Well, he didn't even know if she could yet, but there was no reason to take the risk, well, no reason yet at least, if he wanted to defeat the dead gods and daemons as well as the creatures of the void and corruption itself then he needed to take his steps carefully.
"So, the stuff I want to say isn't exactly important. If you guys have any questions, you can ask first." Sunny said.
Cassie spoke, "Umm, sunny, you said you're going to that place to prepare an escape from the forgotten shore, right? why not work together?" she asked, her tone was, reserved. She wanted to avoid Sunny initially because of what she had done to him, but today's situation made it so that they had to talk.
Sunny looked at her as his flaw kicked in, "Yes, I have to make certain preparations and get stronger, and we do have the option of working together, but I don't want to," he said.
A frown appeared on the two girls' faces. "And why is that?" Nephis asked.
"Because I don't want to put you two in danger," Sunny said simply.
Nephis blinked, then her eyes sharpened, "What does that mean? We've been through dangerous situations before, we have worked together before, what's the difference now? I have people on my side who can help us, We can make a cohort and work on this plan of yours? Do you not trust us anymore? Or you think we're too weak to help you?" she asked sharply, her voice didn't have any malice, she just didn't understand why, of all reasons, his was that it was too dangerous? She was... hurt?
Sunny calmly shook his head, "weak? Not at all. in fact, for the longest time, I've looked up to you, tried to chase after you so I can stand as your equal, so no, it's not that you're weak," he paused. he looked up at here with a soft gaze, something h had never done before, "and most of all, I trust you more than anything or anyone in this world," he said
Nephis was taken aback a bit by his words, "he holds me that highly?" she thought in wonder as a strange warm feeling sunny's words brought to her.
Sunny continued, "And it's true that you have people by your side who can make battles easy, however, I don't want that. I want to do this alone," he paused and looked at them both, "in my life, I never had any friends till I met you guys, not a long time has passed for you guys since I left the cohort, but I've realized a lot and one of the things I did learn is that, I simply can't put you in danger, I know this is the dream realm and everyone's in danger, but i want to be selfish, if there is a danger i can make you guys avoid then i will do so." he said, his presence turned calm, completely calm, something he had never done.
Nephis and Cassie blinked. How were they supposed to argue with that? It wasn't that he didn't believe in them, but he cared too much.
More than that, sunny presence, they had never felt this, ever since they met Sunny, there was always a wall he kept between them, both sides had chipped on it over time, but it was still there when he left a month ago, but now? It was like the wall had vanished. Sunny finally started trusting them completely.
Neph didn't know why, but Sunny's words made her happy, even if she didn't let her face show it. Then a sinking feeling entered, "he finally trusts us, but I-I have such a weapon against him, a weapon I shouldn't have, a weapon I don't want to have," she kept her face together but inside a sad expression of pain was present, "I trust sunny, i know he won't hurt me, but when he finds out i know his true name will he keep trusting me? as long as i have his true name will he ever trust me again?" an image of sunny looking at her with hate appeared and for some reason, the sinking intensified, but then, determination reflected in her eyes, "no, I won't let that happen, I'll figure something out, we'll find a way." she thought.
On the other hand, Cassie was looking towards where Sunny's voice was coming from, the atmosphere, or rather Sunny's aura, was completely different than one month ago; she knew whatever had changed Sunny, the boy had started trusting them completely, trusting her completely. Realizing this, pain entered Cassie's heart as tears threatened to escape and drench her blindfold, but she held them in. She had given away Sunny's true name so easily, just because of a speculation, because of a vision she could never be completely certain of, yet now, here he was now, completely certain he was among friends he could trust. in that moment only one thought entered cassie's heart, "I'm utterly disgusting!"
Sunny could read the two like an open book, and was in his own line of self-guilt, but not really, "Hmm! Well, even if I know that my turn name can do nothing this time, I did forgive Cassie last time around, even if it took a while... and it was justified! and I loved neph, and I still do! So yeah! I'm not bad for letting them feel bad, besides- it's important for Cassie anyway. Yeah, haha," sunny thought with a tired laugh at the end.
Then they returned to the topic at hand.
Nephis's face was calm, but Sunny could see worry in her eyes. "Sunny, it's still not safe to go to all those places, think this through-" she was cut off.
"I've made my mind, I will go, which is why I wanted to meet you guys in case something bad happens," he said. He knew he could deal with everything, but one never knows what can happen, so his statement stays true. He also wanted to see their reaction, or rather Nephis' reaction.
Now, the look in Nephis's eyes was clearly a worried one, while Cassie's face also turned worried.
"Sunny, I don't want to be rude, but you've changed quite a bit. Not in a bad way, though, did something happen?" Cassie asked.
For a single moment, Sunny's eyes wavered, something Nephis did not miss, "What was that?" she thought. Then-
Sunny looked at her for a moment and turned his gaze to Nephis with a certain look in them.
Neph was startled at the look she received.
"I know, it's... It's because I've finally realized and acknowledged certain feelings I have," he said as he looked at neph with a soft and warm gaze.
"h-huh?!" right now, sunny was looking at her with a very soft, warm look in his eyes, as if looking at something, or someone precious to him, the gaze from sunny made neph feel warm in her chest, suddenly she looked down, a confused look in her eyes, that almost reached her face too. "what's happening? What's this feeling?" she questioned herself. She did not know what sunny was making her feel, but it was a welcome feeling. In that moment, for some reason, sunny made her happy.
She calmed herself and looked up again at Sunny, who had turned his head.
Cassie was about to ask something, but Sunny cut her off, "Please don't ask what feelings I'm talking about, it's not the right time yet," he said.
Cassie was about to ask that exactly, but after hearing Sunny, she nodded, respecting his wishes. "That's the least I can do," she thought sadly. Noticing this, Neph put a hand on her shoulder to comfort her.
Sunny looked at Cassie, he knew what Cassie was going through, and he was making her suffer on purpose, "The Cassie I met at the beginning of the forgotten shore was a naive little girl with no hope of surviving in any world, and the cassie that left the forgotten shore was so drowned in guilt that it haunted her for years to come, till she gave me a way to the well of wishes, after that saint cassie knew she had done something but couldn't remember it, then she died alongside us all"
Sunny calmed himself, "But this Cassie? I won't let her suffer in guilt for the rest of her life, I won't lose my little sister this time," his thoughts paused for a moment, "but I can't let her stay naive either, or she won't survive. Putting her through this pain is the best way I can think of to help her become strong; that's not an easy task. Then again, nothing ever is for me," he thought and sighed.
The sigh got everyone's attention. Sunny looked at Cassie, "Hmm, I wanted to talk to Neph about something, in private, if you don't mind... could you?" Sunny left the question hanging.
Nephis' shoulder raised a little as her eyes widened just a little, "talk to me?... in private?" she thought in wonder as her mind ran back to Sunny saying his realization about certain feelings and the way he looked at her.
Cassie's eyes were covered, but her facial reaction told that she would have most likely been blinking in confusion, but then she nodded and got up, summoning a memory Sunny recognized as the dancing sword, and watched as Cassie left the room, closing the door behind.
Sunny turned his head to look at Neph but was startled by what he saw, "...what?"
There, nephis was, her shoulders were stiff, eyes slightly wide, back straining, fist clenched, a strange look in her eyes. To her, her chest felt warm, her throat felt just lightly dry, "huh?! what's he going to say?!" her mind again went back to what Sunny said about his feelings, "what feeling was he talking about?! is he going to tell me?! What's this strange feeling!?" she did not know what sunny was going to say, but in the back of her mind, she was expecting something, something she didn't even know, like something her instinct knew but her mind didn't, she kept looking at sunny.
She may not have known what she was feeling, but Sunny identified her current feelings as flustered.
Sunny blinked as realization settled in, making him happy, "so she started liking me since then," he thought in joy.
In the past, Sunny had accepted that he loved Nephis since before reaching the dark city, but back then, he was too selfish to care about anything or anyone in his life, and Nephis was too socially withdrawn and burdened but her responsibilities and goals.
This time, this time things will be different, because lost from light have his own objectives to achieve, and this time not only will Sunny stand shoulder to shoulder with Nephis, not only to help her but because his own goals will need him too. "This time I'll have to make the shadow clan earlier, to make sure I take down Asterion before he's corrupted, I will have to make the shadow clan much earlier, and stronger than it ever was," he thought.
"But for now," he looked at Neph, "I have to make it clear this isn't a love confession, it's too early, not only are we busy, she doesn't even know what she feels about me yet, not to mention it was only recently she got the confirmation that caster was the assassin sent to kill her, not me." he thought.
"Neph, I want to apologize," he said, getting to the point.
Hearing that, the weird feeling left Nephis' body, then she blinked, "Apologize? for what?" she wondered.
Sunny stood up from the table he was sitting at and walk closer and stopped at an appropriate distance. "before I left the cohort, I was really rude to you, a little too rude, I still don't think we should sacrifice people for victory but still I could have used better words, I want to apologize if I hurt you feelings." he said calmly, it was true, back then sunny did feel that he was a bit out of the line for the way he talked to nephis he just didn't apologize the last time, though sunny did make sure to let her know he was still against sacrificing people. Plus, Sunny believed, showing his honest care for Neph would make their relationship grow faster. That was also important for his grand plan, "And it's not like I can lie, so my words are genuine, I wonder how she'll feel when she realizes in can't lie and meant everything I ever say," he thought.
Nephis blinked, "he wants to apologize for that? he was feeling bad for hurting my feelings?" she thought, the idea of Sunny thinking about her for the past month and worrying about her feelings brought the warm feeling in her chest again.
She shook her head, "It's fine, I also want to apologize, I was rude to you as well. I'm sorry," she said.
Sunny smiled, "That's fine," he paused for a moment, "so things are good between us again?" he asked.
"Yes." She nodded, a hint of a smile reached the edges of her lips for a moment, but happiness was clear in her eyes.
Sunny was happy and smiled a little more, "This is good, the fact that she apologized means she's started to see me as something close to an equal, whether she realized that or not." he thought, the progress was good already, not only between them, but for the future when he talks the spotlight for himself, the two will be recognized as humanities new hope of their generation.
Sunny shook his head, "theirs time in that," he thought and looked at Nephis.
"Well then, it's time for me to leave," he said.
Her eyes turned a little worried, "You're not changing your mind, are you?" she asked again, even if she knew the answer.
"I'm not, but I promise, we'll see each other again soon he said, and they walked out of the room.
Outside the room, Cassie and Effie were standing a bit further, talking about something.
Then they two looked at them and Effie grinned, "So, you two had fun in your private time?!" she asked suggestively, causing Cassie to cough in her fist as a blush spread on her face.
Nephis tilted her head in confusion.
Sunny managed to keep himself composed, he had been on the receiving end of her teasing for a long time, but he was surprised, "She started already?" he thought in annoyance and spoke.
"Nothing of the sort happened, Effie. We just had a conversation that was overdue," he said.
"Meh, you're no fun," she said.
Sunny looked at Cassie and the nephis, "Well then, I'll head out now," he said with a smile.
Their expressions changed, and Cassie stepped up, "Be careful on your journey, sunny."
Effie also spoke, "These lands are dangerous, but a runt like you managed to survive the slums. I'm sure you'll crawl your way back when something humbles you enough," she said. It was her way of saying good luck.
Sunny tilted his head with a smirk, "Yeah, someone once told me a cockroach like me is hard to kill," he said, and Nephis and Cassie smiled; it was their inside joke. Sunny spoke, "But about being humbled, I highly doubt that. I plan on winning all my battles in this little trip," he said.
Effie raised her eyebrow, "Oh yeah? And what makes you think an abomination won't kill you?" she asked in amusement.
"Because it's my will. So who dares stop me?" he said with a wide smile as Nephis and Cassie seemed surprised. Then Cassie smiled, and Nephis seemed happy too.
sunny turned around as he made eye contact with nephis for a moment. they didn't need to exchange any words; everything needed was already said.
"Be careful, Sunny." Nephis thought.
Sunny walked towards the door as he took a side glance to see Caster staring him down from the first floor.
Sunny paid it no mind and walked out, he had work to do.
***
Once he was far enough, he went into a back alley and used Shadow Step and made his way to the bright castle.
Crossing the guards without alerting a single one, he made his way to an empty room where he detected Gunlaug.
Sunny's sharp memory made sure he remembered Gunlaug's presence.
As he effortlessly passed the people in the castle, he looked at the ruins of his second true name.
"Why give me a second true name?" he thought calmly, as his shadow moved smoothly.
"Why do I need a second true name? My aspect is no longer a hindrance," he thought as his shadow moved on the floor, wall, and roof whenever needed.
"Weaver gave me a second true name to be known by people, but why? Does it not go against the rules?" he thought.
"The forgotten god must never be known, must never be worshiped, must never be loved by humanity. If only a few know of his or his heir's existence, then things are fine, that's how I lived, and things still went into chaos."
In his shadow, Sunny's eyes narrowed, "The second true name, it's a counter to the forgotten god's lineage, if people know me by that name, then maybe the seal on the void will not open? In the past, I believed Weaver saw something in the void that made them create the spell so gods can nurture their heir's and once the heirs become divine, they can strengthen the seal. The nightmare spell was supposed to work as a training simulation," his brow furrowed.
"But then why did the weaver create a lineage and spread it through the tapestry of fate? He definitely knew that if his lineage was inherited and known, then it would awaken the forgotten god. Then why?!" Sunny's mind was going into overdrive trying to understand Weaver.
"The more I learn, the more I'm confused, every theory I make about weaver and weaver's goals is contradicted by something else weaver did." Sunny thought as he got close to Gunlaug.
"regardless, one thing I do know is that weaver doesn't want the creatures of the void to escape, his and shadow gods conversation mad that clear, and my gut tells me, being know by my real true name won't be a good idea, at the same time I need to be known in order to gather strength, which is why weaver gave me a fake true name. So that's what I'll do, just this one thing, where my goals align with the weaver, I'll use the tools they gave me, and if the weaver tries to kill me," sunny thought darkly. "I'll destroy the weaver in his eternal slumber."
In the fairly large room with a large bed in its center, Gunlaug was lying on soft white sheets, his armour still on him, covering every part of his body. Some women were in the room with their heads lowered in fear.
Sunny's eyes narrowed, he knew that Gunlaug had this system, but seeing its victims firsthand and his changed personally from the time he saw the evil sleeper brought more anger in Sunny they he expected.
A scoff escaped his lips, "that damn changing star thinks she can over throw me?! keep trying bitch! soon you and her blond bitch will die at my-" his sentence didn't finish as fear entered his heart.
Suddenly, the shadows got deeper and colder, and then they moved.
Gunlaug got up on his bed as the women also looked around in fear, "What the!- what's happening!" he yelled as a pressure settled over him, on instinct, his head snapped to the door of the room as the two large doors pushed open... by the shadows?
At the entrance, for some reason, the shadows were there like a wall hiding everything beyond the door... except the two cold, dark eyes that stared into Gunlaug's soul.
Gunlaug composed himself, his Armor hid it, but some fear did leak out from his voice, "w-who are you!?" he shouted.
The eyes moved, sending shivers down Gunlaug's spine as he got ready to fight somewhat, the women were not as much afraid. Did the pressure not fall on them? This thing was only targeting Gunlaug.
Then the owner of the eyes stepped out of the shadows, it was a young man with black hair and dark eyes, he was wearing a black armour [Puppeteer's Shroud]. His skin was pale, the boy was somewhat handsome but nothing special. However, his eyes were filled with coldness and intent to kill.
Gunalug acted tough, "Who are you?" he shouted.
Sunny looked at him for a moment, "Who am I? I'm the one who will put an end to your rule, gunalug, I'm the shadow of death that will engulf you into my soul," he said coldly as fear shot down gunlaug's spine.
Once more, Sunny looked at his true name, and the other translation could be read in as.
He looked up again as shadows stirred and he disappeared, "I'm sunless, the Heavens chosen Emperor."
Then a small torrent of shadows covered sunny, and he disappeared.
It was time to set events in motion that would change the history of this world.
