Cherreads

Chapter 2 - A menacing red sword.

"Come on out .... Honedge!"

i open up the extra information to confirm my guess...

Aegislash(Shiny)(Level 82) (LM:A+)(MC:A)

XY:

Aegislash(Shiny)(Level 80) (LM:A)(MC:A+)

"It really happened."

I fell to my knees while i looked at Honedge in awe... It really did happened in my generation... This Honedge.

"Henry!... This Honedge it's a .."

"An S- ranked Honedge yes."

Henry said calmly as he smiled at me and gave me a round of applause, while the other servants also join in

"Congratulations on becoming the first Longevity Candidate Owner of the Chevalier family young master."

Longevity... The term when a Pokèmon reaches Level 90..

While only few legendary Pokèmon are naturally at the S rank in terms of Talent. The rest of the other Pokèmon species can only go up to A+ rank....

Despite the Multiplier Cap on Honedge being Level 85... Because it's a shiny, its lifespan is naturally longer than non shiny Pokèmon..

Shinies get their Coloration from an abundance of lifeforce, So Shiny Pokèmon with A+ talent in both Level Multiplier and Multiplier Cap are Treated as S- Talent Pokèmon... As it's almost Guaranteed that they'll be able to Reach Longevity.

But that doesn't mean non shiny Pokèmon, nor Pokèmon at just A talent can't reach Longevity... It's just hard to achieve...

I approached Honedge and it flew to my level... I raise my hand to it for a handshake, and it shaked my hand with the cloth part of its body

"From today on... We're partners,"

"Groo-"

Grookey jumps and down for Honedge to fist bump it, and I show Honedge how to do it. And then Honedge fist bumps Grookey with its cloth.

"You're very quiet aren't you Honedge..."

I looked at it curiously as i feel such a noble aura... And another aura, something more intimate..

It's expected, as this Honedge's and my Bloodline had been closely tied for centuries so we naturally have a bond pulling us together..

"Okay now you two.. it's dinner time.."

The two Pokèmon, acting like newborns as they should. started running around the dining table.. they then stopped at my order, being already hungry they settle down..

The three of us had a great celebration and great time bonding as trainer and their Pokèmon...

After the dinner i went back to the briefcase... I took the two Eviolites and gave one each to Honedge and Grookey.

I also requested for Henry to fetch me a specialized Level Limiter and the Level Transmitter(working on a name give me some ideas..)

Once Henry arrived with the bracelets, i put the Level Transmitter on Grookeys left foot, and the Level Limiter on Honedge's handle.

This makes it so Honedge doesn't overlevel Grookey. Apparently in my father's generation, level limiters weren't a thing yet, so his own Honedge couldn't even battle much to avoid overleveling my father's Grookey.

The level limiter works by storing Experience in it, If for example, Grookey levels up to level 9 Honedge can now gain expirience from the Limiter up to Level 9.. but can't gain expirience to level up to level 10..

Though the Experience gained is not gone. It is merely stored, after beating my City's gym leader the Level Limiters are disabled and all the stored Exp will be gradually absorbed by the Pokèmon, ensuring no wasted time in training...

Its proven to be 99% efficient in storage, though like mt Honedge's limiterz higher Level Multiplier Pokèmon require more specialized Limiters. It's also already proven to not cause any growth defects..

Though sadly it cannot revert expirience. For example... If i catch a level 10 Ekans it doesn't go back to level 8 after capture.. that's one of the exceptions when you can have Pokèmon higher leveled than your Starter, though your starter needs to be at the same, or higher level as the caught Pokèmon for it to be legal to use in official battles...

"Gotta love modern convenience..."

Time skip, 7PM. University of Sovaria.

For our first day we have a tour of the University.

I quietly followed the line in the crowd while i had both Grookey and Honedge out.

I look at my other classmates and see atleast 10 of them already having two Pokémon while they minded their own businesses, the rest of my classmates keep glancing at my Honedge. But they stay silent while looking at it, wondering if the Chevalier family finaly struck gold with a Longevity Candidate.

Though Julia walks beside me. Her own Litten and Mawile following behind her, i then scanned both of her Pokémon.

Litten (M)

Level: 11

Ability: Intimidate

Tera Type: Grass

Nature: Sassy (Sdef +, Spe-)

Taunt

Will-O-Wisp

Flare Blitz

Parting Shot

Hmm... Though Julia could have Picked a better talented Litten, i assume its because she wanted a Litten with both Parting Shot and Fake Out egg moves. Since Litten is very high in demand, its not surprising that she had a bit less options as her Surname starts with a T

Mawile (M)

"Shoto, also wanna add my Mawile's extra info while you're at it?"

she shows me the Legacy info from her own Pokédex.

Mawile (M)

Extra Info:

Legacy:

XX:

Absol(Level 75) (LM:A)(MC:B-)

XY:

Mawile(Level 81) (LM:B)(MC:A)

"Ohhh. So your Mawile is from your Mother's Absol?"

I think back at that very Absol that i used to pet and play along with Julia when we were kids.

"Yep! and i lucked out. My family lucked out on having two succesive talent increases to our Legacy Pokémon!"

Julia said exitedly as she rocks me back and forth and stoped as the was curious about something..

"Hey your Honedge.... just from looking at It... It does seem to resemble Champion Chevalier's Aegislash. It looks so cool!.."

She looks at the Honedge in awe while the Mawile stared at the Honedge Jelously...

"Hey now... I'm also here no? A floating sword is no match for the great Mawile..." Julia's Mawile said internally as she continued staring at Honedge.

Meanwhile Litten and Grookey became instant best friends and starting playing together.

"heyyyy now Shoto~ Its been 3 Generations since the last time The Chevalier Family's Legacy Pokémon had a boost no?."

She said as she looked up Honedge's Info kn her Pokédex.

She read through it until she got to the Talent Section and Almost dropped the Pokédex.

"do-do... DOUBLE A+... wait hold on. Its a 40x Level Multiplier... thats, the maximum at rank A+! wait. Doesn't this mean..."

I nod and smirked at her, growing a long nose as i scratched it in arrogance.

"kekekke, I really did luck out no? I.. Shoto Chevalier! The first owner of a Longevity Candidate Owner of Sovaria. Now... Kneel before me! as i am the greatest of all time!!!"

I said dramatically as everyone in the class began staring at me, and started bursting out laughing from my performance."

"Whoa. Shoto really did become the first Longevity Candidate Owner of The Chevaliers..,"

Another classmate checked my Honedge's status and then another...

In awe the tour suddenly stops as my classmates started cheering for me.

"Congrats on making family history Shoto! i can't believe my childhood friend really became a first Longevity Candidate Owner..."

She said and wiped away a fake tear as the cheers continued.

no use trying to hide my Honedge's potencial... it's bound to spread like wildfire soon anyways. Thanks to the Pokédex's talent display function, just one curious look will make the information spiral out of control.

of course not only that, everyone is curious if the scion of the Chevalier family got the Longevity Candidate, as it was only a matter of when, not if it would happened.

The Chevalier family was already on the verge of breaking through 3 Generations ago. Starting from Shoto's Great Grandfather, though in the last 3 Generations there was bad luck as the offspring of his Great-Grandfather's Aegislash had a little less talent than it before it passed away.

The Chevalier Family owns multiple lines of the Honedge Bloodlines, to avoid inbreeding and so that the line remains 'purely Honedge' my family periodically captures High Talent wild Honedge,Doublade, or Aegislash and it happened to be his father's time to catch one. The mate to his own Aeigislash... and it was shiny to boot.

thus the pairing of them resulted in the very Honedge i own today... thank you Father for such a wonderful gift!
