Chapter 3 - Misunderstanding

Upon arriving at the academy, sure enough, Iruka was in class teaching basic ninja theory.

They could only remain silent by the door, waiting for Iruka's signal to enter.

He looked at the two of them and gave a faint, wry smile.

"You two, come in!" he ordered.

They entered the classroom, almost in sync with each other.

"Ino, go ahead and sit down first..." Iruka thought perhaps Ino had a different reason for being late than Naruto.

Hearing that, Ino smiled brightly and quickly went to her seat.

"And Naruto, what's your excuse for being late this time?" Iruka asked with a sigh.

Observing his face, Naruto remained calm. He then shifted his gaze toward Ino.

"Sorry, Sensei. We went shopping earlier in the clothing district. Ino and I were picking out clothes and lost track of time. That's why... we're late."

Naruto explained it calmly.

Iruka glanced at Naruto's outfit and, as he said, it was indeed new and suited him well.

Iruka finally nodded.

On the other hand, Ino pouted a little. Damn it, why did he drag me into this? Her fists clenched, itching to hit him.

"Ino, Naruto, wait outside until the practical training begins. Stand by the classroom door. Now," Iruka said firmly.

Reluctantly, Ino got up and walked toward the door.

Dragging Naruto, who stood still as if mocking her. We're both late, so why am I the only one punished? Somehow, Ino could hear that in his expression alone.

Ino eventually pulled him out.

"Look at that. Why does Ino seem close to him?"

"Could it be that they're dating?"

"No way."

A few students began voicing their thoughts and gossiping until Iruka had to scold them.

But of course, gossip once sparked is not easily put out.

Choji asked Shikamaru, "Why were they late together? And they went shopping?"

"Oh, maybe they're dating. Well, it's a shame Ino likes a loser like him. I mean, I'm way better than that guy," Kiba interrupted.

"I see," Choji concluded.

"No, Choji. That idiot Naruto still likes Sakura. People don't change their feelings that quickly. There might've been some troublesome situation between them," Shikamaru sighed. "Whatever... girls are such a pain anyway."

Choji nodded in agreement.

"Ah, my potato chips are gone."

Outside the classroom.

They glanced at each other, and suddenly Ino struck Naruto's stomach.

Naruto saw it coming and dodged.

"Hey! Why did you dodge that?" Ino protested.

"And why should I take the hit?" Naruto replied.

Ino didn't respond. She folded her arms and looked down.

She didn't want to argue anymore. She felt drained, and Naruto noticed.

With Ino's silence, the atmosphere grew still. Naruto didn't speak either. He just stared into space, thinking about how he could grow stronger. In this world, strength meant everything. But the more he thought, the more confused he became.

Eventually, Naruto pushed those thoughts aside and looked at Ino beside him.

Her blonde hair, her emerald green eyes, and soft pink lips. She was quite pretty—even enough to rival Sakura, the girl he liked.

Even though he knew that in the Boruto series, Sakura was incredibly beautiful and could rival anyone.

Still, Ino's beauty was undeniable.

After a while of staring, Ino noticed his gaze. She frowned.

"Why are you staring at me like that? Is this your first time seeing such a pretty girl?" she said confidently and teasingly.

She tried to bring Naruto down and attack him personally, but of course, Naruto wouldn't back down.

"You are pretty, Ino. But sadly, your beauty is wasted on your foolishness," Naruto shot back.

"What do you mean?" Ino flared up and demanded an explanation.

"You're a fool... for liking Sasuke. But unfortunately..." Naruto lowered his head slightly and spoke in a quiet tone, "Sasuke likes boys."

"You bastard! Watch your mouth!" Ino took a step closer, ready to hit him.

Naruto just shrugged. "Believe what you want."

Ino couldn't hold back. She grabbed Naruto by the collar.

But just as she was about to hit him, the classroom door burst open and the students came pouring out.

From their perspective, it looked like Ino was kissing Naruto because of how close they were.

"I knew it—they're dating."

"Really?"

"Yeah, seeing this… I finally believe it."

More gossip began to spread like wildfire.

"Ino… just because you couldn't get Sasuke, you turned to him?" Sakura said with a hint of pity.

"Shikamaru, didn't you say they weren't a thing?" Choji asked.

"Yeah, maybe I was wrong. This situation is seriously troublesome..." Shikamaru said, walking away and motioning Choji and the others to follow.

To be honest, he was just as shocked. Naruto and Ino… who would've thought they had a secret going on?

Sasuke simply walked off, followed by Sakura.

Kiba, still unconvinced, also left.

Soon, only Naruto and Ino were left.

Even Iruka gave them a little lecture about their "relationship."

Looks like everyone misunderstood, they both thought.

"This is all your fault!" Ino kicked Naruto in the shin and stormed off toward the training field, leaving Naruto with a bubbling annoyance in his chest.

"Ughh… you could've just left, why kick me..."

Naruto sighed and rushed after her to the field.

At the training field.

All students were gathered. Before starting the training session, Iruka called the roll to ensure no one had snuck off.

Afterward, the first activity began: shuriken and kunai throwing.

The rules were simple—throw the weapon accurately at the target.

On his first try, Naruto failed. He assessed his technique and tried again. Still, he missed, though the weapon landed closer.

On the final try, he focused all his strength, combining it with a smooth but powerful motion.

Swiifft...

The shuriken flew fast, slicing through the air—finally hitting the target dead center.

Naruto got a perfect score on his final attempt.

"Well done, Naruto. You're improving," Iruka-sensei praised him.

"Hehe, of course," Naruto grinned proudly.

"But don't get too cocky. This is just the beginning. If you want to become a great ninja, keep training," Iruka added with a serious tone.

Naruto gave a dry smile. He didn't argue. His body was still weak—even throwing shuriken made him tired.

After all students completed their turn, it was time for sparring practice.

"Alright, next... Naruto, you're up against Yamamoto!" Iruka called out.

"Hey, Yamamoto! You're lucky you get to fight him!" shouted a student.

"Yeah, I wish I were his opponent," another mocked.

A few students laughed. Naruto was often last in these matches—and rarely did well.

"Just take it easy, Naruto. No need to overdo it," said Shikamaru.

"Yeah, just try your best," added Choji.

Naruto looked at them and gave a faint smile.

Shikamaru and Choji... you guys are good friends. Even when others look down on me, you still support me… But it still hurts, he thought.

"Damn, this is touching… but painful," he muttered.

Naruto and Yamamoto stepped into the arena. After bowing, they charged at each other.

Yamamoto aimed a punch at Naruto's face, but Naruto dodged with ease.

"I wanted to play around a bit… But I'm already tired. So take this…" Naruto's voice was cold in front of Yamamoto.

Yamamoto didn't understand, but a bad feeling washed over him.

He jumped back to gain distance, but Naruto had already vanished.

Suddenly, a chill ran down his spine. He turned—and Naruto was in the air, spinning and kicking down toward his head.

Bughhh!

The kick landed perfectly. Yamamoto collapsed, unconscious.

Naruto had used a spinning technique—like Newton's motion—combining speed and constant force to strengthen the kick.

Phew… glad that worked, Naruto thought, wiping sweat from his forehead.

He looked around. Everyone was stunned. Their faces showed disbelief.

"No… no way…"

"Yeah, must've been a fluke… Yamamoto? Lost?"

"Ugh… Still don't believe me? Well, heroes always show up late," Naruto mumbled.

He glanced around. Hinata was staring at him—then quickly looked away. Ino looked irritated, and Naruto gave her a smug smile.

Sakura looked surprised. Her eyes followed Naruto, but when he winked at her, she immediately looked disgusted.

What the hell? Is he showing off in front of me? Sakura grumbled internally.

Naruto winced slightly, but calmed himself quickly.

Today, I might be hated by all the girls. But just wait… One day, when I have everything—even Tsunade will be mine. I mean… anyone will, he thought with a small smile.

The sparring matches continued until the session neared its end. Iruka stood in front, ready to give closing remarks, when suddenly a loud voice came from the edge of the field.

"Sensei! I want to challenge Naruto to a match!" Ino shouted boldly.

Alright, this is the longest and most time-consuming chapter I've written so far, but I really like it—especially the conversation between Naruto and Ino, which turned out quite well.

Also, Naruto and the entity of his previous life are one and the same. This world was created from humanity's desire for that anime. Well, it's just a concept, but I hope you understand what I mean.

In this fanfic, I intend to create a plot that isn't boring, overly drawn out, or actionless like many Chinese fanfics. I want to write a fresh story that truly satisfies my own desires.

In this fanfic, the main character might sometimes act silly, other times serious or even cruel—but one thing is certain: he's a jerk.

Oh, and one more thing—I'm not very good at English, and all of this was translated with ChatGPT, so I apologize if there are any mistakes.
