Konoha Training Grounds - Genin Selection Arena
A massive circular arena had been set up on the eastern edge of Konoha, under the shadow of the Hokage Monument. The ground was cracked, scarred from years of battles. The air buzzed with chakra.
Around the ring stood the hopefuls. Fifty students.
Most came in teams.
One stood alone.
Naruto Uzumaki.
He didn't speak. He didn't smile.
He watched. Every movement. Every shift of chakra in the air.
"He shouldn't be here," muttered a girl from the crowd.
"They say he's a curse made flesh."
"He doesn't even use chakra properly… freak."
The proctor walked into the center — Iruka Umino, still carrying the weight of his own trauma from the night of the Black Storm.
"You know the rules. This isn't a game," Iruka said. "Pass this trial… or you go home. Forever."
PHASE 1: 1-on-1 Combat Trials
The first match was drawn randomly.
Naruto vs… Shinji Dazuno — a taijutsu prodigy from the Nara side branch.
Shinji laughed. "They're feeding me the cursed one first?"
The match began.
Shinji dashed forward, chakra pulsing in his fists — a mix of Leaf-style and modified Gentle Fist.
Naruto didn't move.
As the first punch came… time slowed. At least, that's how it looked.
Naruto stepped aside, like a falling leaf caught by the breeze.
Then—
BOOM!
A pressure burst sent Shinji flying back, skidding across the dirt, unconscious.
Nobody saw Naruto strike.
Iruka's eyes widened.
"What… was that? That wasn't chakra."
Naruto turned, eyes glowing faintly violet, and walked off the ring.
Whispers across the arena:
"That wasn't a jutsu..."
"Did he just bend the air?"
"What the hell is 'Void Style'?!"
Iruka scribbled something on his clipboard.
"Uzumaki… passes."

A forbidden art from before chakra was discovered. Allows the user to manipulate the "in-between" — space between seconds, chakra pulses, and even thoughts.
Void Step: A silent movement technique that disrupts time perception.
Hollow Palm: Sends out a concussive blast that feels like nothing, but hits like gravity itself.
Breathless Field: Removes all sound in a small area — perfect for stealth.
