I stepped up to the city gates with arms behind my head. My long hair a mess of twigs, leaves, and feathers hung out of the mess of tangles. I had fought a few more Feral Ghouls nothing had come out of it besides a few more of the shiny tiny ammo pieces. They weren't enough of a challenge to level up. According to the Unknownable unlike other classes I can't grind the same enemies for levels. When they become to easy they will simply be worthless to me.
I stopped infront of the city gate guard who asked, "Name And business?"
"I'm Eric. I'm one of the orphans," I said with a smile. "Here to register as a adventurer and hunter."
"Oh yeah? Where did you get that sword?"
"I killed a couple of those strange zombie like things. One of them had this sword on i," I spoke slowly making sure to not let my anger get the better of me.
The guard nodded and hand over Gate Pass, "This pass will work as identification until you register with eather the guilds or the town hall."
"Thank you sir." I gave a brief nod as i stepped threw the gates only for two screens to appear a Plains Walker Quest and a System Quest. I opened the systems first.

Wow those where some amazing Skills and spells. Which probably means what's ever the subject for the quest is going to be terrifying. I sigh as I open up the Plains Walker Quest.

Well that made this even more terrifying. Solo a monster that is being a massive problem for the locals while I'm both fresh and don't have anything to powerful. Well I did I Am Atomic. It Vaporizes everything I don't consider an ally including the town and its civilians. Well guess I'll figure out what I'm dealing with first. Then I'll worry about everything else.
—-Time Skip the Guild—-
"There we go! Eric your now a Copper rate adventure! The quests under the copper plack over there is all the quests you can take. But if you form a team of 3 coppers you can take Iron and if you have a iron in the three 4 person party you can take a Bronze." The guild girl explained with a smile her brown hair done in a fine braid and her soft looking dog ears rested on her head. I smiled as I smoothed out my hair again between my horns that flowed like a crown head to the back of my head. Her skin was tan and her lips painted a nice shade of red that did things to me making my face blush purple.
"Thanks. Umm. What's your name again?"
She giggles into her hand a small blush spreading across her cheeks. "I'm Renai. And im your rep here at this guild building. If you transfer to a new city you will get a new one but until then the better you do the better I have it also. I do make 10% of all jobs you do as your rep."
I nodded but a conversation from a few tables down caught my attention.
"I'm telling you something is down in the sewers. We just got done with a Rat Killing quest and a request to look for the missing kids and town's people but all we found where dead rats."
"Wait you didn't kill any of them?"
"No. They looked like they were ripped apart by a rabid human. Long gouges and human size bites taken out of the skin. It's similar to what's the Iron ranks are reporting they are seeing on the new zombie type out in the forest."
"No shit? Well then it shouldn't be that hard to kill. I've heard that the city guard has taken several out with out casualties and they are only high copper to low Iron rank."
"That's the thing. I already reported this but one of the few bodies we found was a Guard captain. One that was easily Black Iorn or Silver Rank."
I sighed this was going to be a large pain in my ass but that feels like the first two objectives cleared. I take a Quick Look at the system quest and I was right. Well i guess I'm head for the sewer. I walk over to check if there was a guild quest for down there and there was one for rat killing. It's a permanent quest opened. Apparently the city is as built on top of a dungeon so Dire Rats and Skeletons would come up into the Sewers and if they weren't taken care of would come up to the street. So not only did the guild pay for the mana stones but every five low grade mana stones you would get an extra 5 silver pieces. Since the low grade stones sold for 2 silver that was a profit of 1 gold and 5 silver before your rep took 3 silvers. Still a profit of 1 gold and 2 silvers wasn't a bad deal. Not to mention the quest for dire rat fur on the bord 8 pelts for a smith for 3 gold and a open contract for 3 silver per pelt from a seamstress. The fur was apparently fire resistant, Soft and warm so it was a good material for early armors. The skeletons also carried F Grade weapons that could be sold for scrap metal at about 5 coppers a piece.
Since none these actually required you to register them to your self I just head out. I really didn't want to fight in the sewer and i really wanted to get my hair taken care of but there was no reason to get all cleaned up just to fight in the sewer and get dirty again.
It was a short walk to the closet sewer entrance I could see some kids hanging by it with a torch. The little humans seemed worried about the crying coming from the dark. "Kids get away from there. I mean seriously! I'm new and know something killing kids down there."
The kids seem to jump and scatter as I stopped infront of the entrance. The crying is still coming from the dark. The sounds of a woman balling was unmistakable. I'd heard it many time when mom was taken to the main house before our home was burned down.
I breathed in and out trying to calm my nerves and the anger boiling up from deep with in my self. I just growl as I begin to travel down into the dark confines of the sewer my hand resting on the hilt of my blade.
It wasn't to far into the sewer that I saw her. A woman hunched over crying into her hands with long matted black hair in a blood covered white dress. The more I looked though the worse the area became. Dead rats children and guard in plate covered in deep claw marks. Some half eaten and worse I watched as one of the half eaten corpses of a child begin to stand up. As if raised from the dead by a necromancer the zombie child began to stumble towards me.
I raised my left hand and fired my twin bolts of energy blowing its head clean off. The woman didn't stop crying but the other children and some of the rats began to rise. I fired again one bolt striking each child blowing holes threw chest and crushing head. But one of the rats charged running like a hungry pest. I pulled my blade cutting it in half I stepped back trying to keep the blood off me as I slashed at the second zombie dire rat. It didn't die instantly but as it turned back to me its wound exploded with blood and flames. I saw the guards began to twitch hearing bone crack as their forms slowly change. I did wait rushing forward and stabbed down into the twitching bodies skulls. The woman was still crying as if nothing had happened. But it was obvious both the cause of death and the cause of them changing. I slipped into a stance as I triggered the swords seconds ability and I felt my body go threw the movement of the three piece combo. A slash going up from my left hip to left shoulder. The blade bit into the flesh as the thing screamed as a second blade of blood and flame's struck where I'd just hit. The second was as right shoulder to left shoulder digging threw part of its neck blood and flame bursting out right before a second blade of blood and flame stuck. The. Finally a downward cut form left shoulder to right hip and as the blood and flame passed the moster erupted a second time. Now fully on fire she was blown onto her back. The flames of crimson red blackened the ashen paper white skin of the creature. Her cry's of sorrow turned to scream of pain and rage. She lunged with truely horrifing speed aiming, what looked like foot long claws, at my throat. I threw my self to the side the blade of Crimson death cut out as I devided severing the things hands. It crashed to the ground rolling like a feral human. The only problem was her skin looked pristine and besides the very pale death like color she looked like a beautiful human woman. I rolled to my feet and lunged forward. The creature rolled looking at me it threw back its head to probably scream but it was silenced for ever as my blade cut threw the throat and spine sending the head flying into the sewage.

I smile as I quickly chose Lunging Strike and Ear for Detail. They where only C ranks but they where both very good for my current self. That lunging strike would have made this fight even easier. But I'm sure the only reason this was so easy was as the Rivers of Blood it's self. Seemed like the ability to cause the blood and fire explosion really helped me get threw this situation. I mean it did trigger twice in quick secession.
"What's the under over Unknowable?"
(That was Called a Witch. It can turn those it bites into a undead runner or a mutation undead. And since it's now here it could turn them into many different types. It's not from here eather so no crystal. It's definitely the sword. It can tank Most stacks but that blade easily cut threw her. Your very lucky to have gotten it. And now your at 20 points in Charisma you now have the ability to bind a second strong weapon. And with Blade Dancer 1&2 you are have the skill of a seasoned warrior. This is becoming more and more exciting.)
"Well glad your entertained." I said as I looked at the destroyed rats. The one I cut in half I cut its mana stone in half also. So i basically only have one stone and zero pelts. Speaking of pelts I sigh, I didn't bring a dagger or anything to skin the beast with. Not that eather of these creatures would be worth skinning since they are partially eaten.
Roll my rolls.

I watched as a bird like creature larger the. A horse appeared next to me. It seemed to sniff the air before it nuzzled its head into my chest. I smiled as I ran my hand threw its incredibly soft black and crimson feathers. The creature had blazing orange eyes and its legs where covered in crimson scales with black and gold winding patterns in it.
I smiled as I said, "Bind."
{System Notice Binding Seikret as a familiar! Familiar slots remaining 9. Please Name your Beast!}
"You will be Bella." It gave a thrilled chirping roar as a Green light shimmered around us. I could almost feel her emotions. I then noticed that she seemed to want me to ride her and I guess that made sense seeing as she was listed as a Mount from the roll. She didn't have a saddle though. So I'll have to get her one. One that could carry extra items like potions or spare swords or maybe even a bow.
In the meantime I opened a gate big enough for her to go threw to the plain in the Demi Plain. I felt her joy as she saw the small meat creatures I think she was looking at the rabbits. She apparently was going rabbit hunting.
I turned towards the exit I need a dagger or something to skin these beasts with. And maybe something that didn't cause there flesh to catch fire. I loved my Blade but it wasn't great for gathering monsters materials after a hunt.

I stood before the blacksmith at the smith house that Renai had suggested. And I now understood completely why she sent me here and not to the guild store. The woman I was looking at was the spitting image of the Dog beast girl from earlier jest with black hair over her tanned skin instead of the honey brown of Renai.
"Hello I'm Regina! Welcome to Hounds End Smith House what can I get you?" Regina was loud and happy. She wasn't quite and seductive like her sister. And while she was taller she was definitely cuter. That was probably because Renai wasn't cute but sexy.
"Hi! I'm Eric I'm here looking for a bow and Dagger for hunting rats." I explained.
"Oh you learned that we smiths and the tailors won't pay as much for burnt cut up and ruined pelts?"
"No but when I burnt one earlier i figured it wouldn't be worth much."
She nodded her head, "Your smart then. We only pay the price listed for Quality or good pelt. Any poor or ruined pelts we will still buy but as scrap. So you'd be looking at maybe two or three coppers. About 10 times less."
"Wow that much of a drop?"
"Yeah! A full coat of Dire rat fur takes three Good or better pelts. If we have to cut and fix bad pelts we both lose time, resources, and money on the project. But having the scraps isn't worthless because if we need small amounts to fill in spaces or use as lining it more cost effective to use scraps then a full pelt," she explained it to me. Her voice was calm yet exited like someone who was talking about their passion. Which made since what black smith would work and not enjoy their passion.
"Well what's the best way to get the pelts?"
"Crossbow bolts and a Gutting skinning knife not a dagger. While daggers can do the job no problem the Skinning knife is much thinner and sharper able to do the work easier and cleaner. Only problem is can't be used as a weapon do to its thin blade is incredibly fragile." She took out one such blade to show me. It was only about 3 inches long and the blade was only slight thicker then a few sheets of paper.
"How much for that a crossbow and two dozen bolts?"
"That will be two gold. One gold for the light Crossbow 8 silver for two sets of bolts and 2 silver for one skinning blade!" She cheered at the sell as I pass her the money. As I left i slipped one bolt into my armory. 7 days from now I'd have 20 more bolts. In a couple of months I'd have 210. I loved it!
