Yes the only cure for this disease was to get into the Academy. Now one may wonder why getting into the Academy help with the contracted disease. Because the disease was actually not a disease inherently but a bodily condition where there is an urgent need of spiritual energy. In these world a human or any living being for that matter could become powerful only by cultivating spiritual form of energy. It was the highest form of energy available in the universe. There were many levels in the cultivation namely: The first stage was Body Metamorphosis Realm which was further divided into 9 stages and after that was Ascending Realm which was again divided into 9 stages and the last commonly known realm was Arcane Spirit Realm which was divided into 6 stages.
So what Kian needed was not some sort of medicine no. He needed spiritual energy in his body to counter his foe and only after surpassing Arcane Spirit Realm he would be free of this ailment. Now the family were very poor at the moment no matter their family background in the past. The past won't feed them. So the only viable option in Avian's and Anaya's mind was to get Kian into the Academy as they were aware of their kid's talent. Atleast the talent he exhibited in his school subjects and other activities were tremendous and why won't he be talented for he was the eldest son of Avian Alvarez and Anaya Sumak.
The couple wanted for their son to join the Academy when he was just about to become 12 anyway because for some reason they knew that he would easily get accepted in the Academy and ofcourse they want to spend time with their child but because of the circumstances they were in he would have to leave early now. Now one may think how were they so sure that Kian would get into the Academy which had an acceptance rate of less than or equivalent 0.00001 percent. The Medes continent was for humans and here lived trillions and trillions of humans and Arban Academy was their leading institute and surely there would be tough competition. Even though the acceptance rate was low the number in the academy exceeded millions.
The academy had entrance exam at all time of the year. One just had to get into the province of Nara where the Academy was situated but because of the distance was millions of kilometres from here they would have to travel atleast for 15 days in a high speed rail of the empire. And from this part of the empire there were only 2 such trains per month. So again after 15 days they would need to catch that 'minibus' to get into the nearest high rail station which was only one in the provincial capital. The distance from here to provincial capital was 10000 kms and it would take 3 hours at max to get there by the minibus.
Now about 'The Academy' was called The Arban Academy named after the first emperor of the Akila empire was a multidisciplinary academy which was most sought after academy amongst humans as well as other races. It made a student transform his life by elevating his status as well as his strength to unprecedented levels.
The most important thing was that this academy was backed and protected by the Imperial Family under the First Imperial Decree of the Akilian Constitution because of its existence the empire has reached higher grounds never touched before in every possible branch of human endeavours. The most important reason the Academy was so highly revered among common folks and even the nobilities and royalties was because of its meritocracy policy. The empire itself was meritocratic monarchy but it couldn't prevent all the backhanded dealings of the influential families as they were too powerful for such detailed scrutiny and ofcourse because of the vastness of empire the imperial family did not control too much to other noble families and overlooked some of the things they did but the academy was an entirely different subject because of the meritocracy in the academy the empire as whole benefitted and this was non negotiable even if someone from royal family wanted to change that because it was non ammendable from the constitution. It was like a basic right of the citizens of the country to be able to enter the academy with merit alone. You don't need to have money you don't need to have background you just need pure talent and by the virtue of this Article in the Constitution the Akila Empire had a long standing in the Annals of Time.
The admission criteria for the academy was just potential and character. They wanted to know if they invest something on someone will he be able to reciprocate that with good virtue and till what extent will he be able to contribute to the empire. These were the two most basic questions asked before giving someone an admission to the academy. They were judged based on their character as well as their potential. Character because they wanted to know if he will have a change of heart after gaining power status and potential because they wanted to know to what extent the said person will grow and cater him accordingly.
Kian curiously gazed towards his father and asked" Dad is it necessary for me to go?"
Avian replied " Yes dear you need to go because only than you will be stronger and will be able to protect us ."
One may think that why the father and son duo talking so maturely since one was just an 11 year old. But, that 11 year old has seen what many kids have not even dreamt. Others kids nightmare was his life. And it was not because of his parents incompetency because they were helpless and bound by their words. Here words meant everything. It doesn't mean that there is no deceit or falsehood. They were there but the people who had unbreakable characters did not exhibit these kind of
actions. Once a promise is made or word is given taking up an oath he was bound by the will of the nature itself and going against nature is not something everybody did.
As the father and son duo were conversing, Anaya called them for dinner. The family of three sat on the floor as Kaia was asleep in the bed. The mother had prepared a whole lot nice dishes today as she was aware that Kian would have to leave early than the arrival of train because he was not going by train to the academy but was being escorted their by someone Avian knew because even waiting for 15 days would be detrimental to Kian's health as they had no means to counter the disease in this backwater place of Rova. If he went to the academy he would not have to worry about the disease as mankinds best and greatest people were present at the academy and they would surely help him supress the disease and once he starts to cultivate his body would resist the disease with the spiritual energy and will eventually cure him. But for that he need to be in the academy.

Morning 3 am
Avian returns from the night trip hoping that everyone would be asleep. Without making any noise he entered the house and wanted to go to sleep but as soon as he entered he was met with a glare so sharp that if seeing would cut something he would be cut into billion pieces. He was locked by a primal aura of a beast and he smiled weakly and saw his wife glaring at him.
"Hehe baby you are up already, I didn't mean to wake you up hehe."
Anaya was so angry that she almost screamed and wanted to beat the shit out of the man but she knew that it would serve no purpose. But nonetheless she asked while gritting her teeth "Avian Alvarez where the fuck were you for the whole night"?
The man shivered and answered everything truthfully, he didn't wanted to test patience of the woman because he knew the woman all too well. A lion can challenge any other apex predator and win but would be scared shitless by his lioness and this was the sole reason Avian was fearful of this crazy woman.
The woman suddenly dropped her angry demeanor just as changing her clothes and smiled and said" Ohh baby you could have told me before going right."
"You slept in my embrace remember" said the man.
Anaya giggled and again embraced Avian and said in a somber" So when will we send Kian with Rafael for the Academy?"
"Day after Tomorrow " he replied.
"Then I shall feed my child with all of his favourite dishes, go and get all the ingredients."said Anaya
"Yes Ma'am" replied the man.
And he left for the bazaar to get ingredients for the dinner they wanted have with their child as they would not be able to meet with their child for the first 5 years because this was the policy of the academy once you entered the premises you would not be able to leave the academy for the first 5 years in any case because of the following reasons:
1) The first five years the most arduous time in the academy. The student becomes so busy that he could not afford breaks due to the curriculum and all those activities.
2) The second reason is that the students safety as they would not be able to defend themselves and once they enter the academy they become the cremé dé la cremé of the human race so any rival race would like to harm these children to weaken the human race.
3) The third and most important reason was to have a tempo of an elite who is not swayed by emotional bonds and ties. He should be able to reign all this things as they could be detrimental to their job if not handled properly.

The family of three had dinner and went to sleep waiting for a new day and new opportunity ahead.
