Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 :The Exam fate

The sun rose over Tokyo, but hidden beneath the city's ordinary surface stood a place only a few knew existed — Tokyo Magic School, where the extraordinary began.

Standing at the school's iron gates, Ryker Tensai gazed at the massive structure ahead. His jet-black hair danced with the breeze, and his calm, unreadable eyes watched the entrance like a battlefield. Beside him were his two childhood friends — Sol Yoshida, confident and calm with a hand on his sword, and Celica Sora, the ever-supportive and sharp-eyed girl.

It was finally the day they had prepared for.

The entrance exam.

As they stepped into the courtyard, a crowd of new students buzzed with nervous excitement. In contrast, older students from the second and third years stood tall and silent, like veterans ready to crush anyone in their way.

From a tall stone platform, the principal stepped forward. His long black coat fluttered behind him, and his voice rang across the courtyard like thunder.

"Welcome to Tokyo Magic School," he began. "You're the next heroes. Now this world is in your hands.Your entrance exam will begin shortly. But first, a warning..."

He raised his hand, pointing toward the second and third-year students standing at both sides of the courtyard.

Each of you must face one of them in combat. If you won — you pass. If you lose — you're out."

A wave of gasps and murmurs spread across the students.

"However, those with healing powers are automatically accepted. We don't waste rare talent."

Celica smiled and turned to the boys.

"Well, I'm a healer, so I'm already in. You two better survive."

Exam Rules:

1. Use of magic and weapons is permitted.

2. Matches last five minutes. Survive until the end, and you pass — even if you don't win.

3. If you are out of ground then you are out

The exam began.

Magic flared. Metal clashed. Screams echoed. Dozens of students were eliminated in minutes.

Sol Yoshida stepped forward next. His opponent was already waiting.

A tall second-year student stood at the center of the battlefield, his presence alone overwhelming. He wore no expression, only a silent confidence.

"That's him," a student whispered. "They call him King. Last year, he defeated every other student in the entrance exam."

The referee raised his hand.

"Match — begin!"

Sol charged in, sword drawn. Fire surged from his blade, exploding forward. But King dodged effortlessly, appearing beside Sol in a flash. His punch landed clean, and Sol flew back, skidding across the ground.

"You're too slow," King said, expressionless. "You're not ready for this world."

Sol wiped the blood from his mouth and smirked.

"Neither are you."

He unleashed his full power, his blade glowing white-hot. They clashed mid-air, metal against metal, flame against flame. The crowd was in awe — the two warriors fought equally, exchanging blows like gods.

King summoned a massive fireball and launched it, but Sol cut through it and leapt forward. A flash of light.

"Sol was almost out of the arena, but King caught his hand at the last second"

"Time's up!" referee shouted.

"You're strong," he said. "The world needs strength like yours."

On another field, a name caught everyone's attention.

"It's Aisa Nakamura," someone whispered.

"She's beautiful... an terrifying."

Match starts

Her opponents rushed and Aisa deflected the attack with ease, stepped behind him in one swift move, and swept his legs from under him.

"Aisa Nakamura!"

The final match.

Ryker Tensai stepped onto the field.

Whispers spread through the crowd.

"He's so handsome…"

"Is he strong?"

"He looks… different."

His opponent attacked first, launching shards of ice into the air. Ryker dodged, calm as ever. The student lunged with his blade — but Ryker caught the sword with one hand.

His other hand moved in a flash.

Cold steel pressed against his opponent's neck — then Ryker slammed a punch into his face for good measure.

"Match over! Ryker Tensai wins!"

The crowd fell silent.

And in that silence, something dark stirred in Ryker's eyes. Behind them — pain."

Or

"...his eyes reflected pain only few could understand."

Ryker walked off the battlefield without saying a word.

No cheers. No smiles. Just silence trailing behind him — and eyes that couldn't look away.

Even the upperclassmen glanced at him with interest. Not because he overpowered his opponent… but because of how effortlessly he ended it.

Celica caught up to him, her eyes scanning his face.

"You okay?" she asked.

He gave a small nod.

"Yeah."

But something was… off.

Sol joined them moments later, a proud bruise on his cheek.

"So," he said, stretching. "We all made it. Not bad for day one."

"You got punched into the ground," Celica teased.

"Yeah," he grinned, "but I didn't die. So that's a win."

The principal's voice rang out again.

"All first years who passed, report to the Great Hall in one hour. Welcome to Tokyo Magic School."

The crowd began to scatter.

But then—

BOOM.

An explosion echoed across the east wing.

Smoke rose. People screamed. A few students rushed toward the noise, but most froze in fear.

Ryker's eyes narrowed. Sol had already drawn his sword.

From the smoke, a figure emerged — tall, cloaked in black, with a jagged crimson mark running across his face.

"Intruder!" a teacher shouted.

But before anyone could move, the cloaked man raised his hand. The air itself warped — a shockwave blasted outward, knocking several guards unconscious.

The crowd panicked.

But Ryker didn't move.

The man's eyes locked onto his — sharp, unwavering. And for just a second, the chaos went quiet.

"You," the man said. "You're the one."

Ryker's breath caught.

"Who are you?"

But the man didn't answer. He just smiled — a strange, haunting smile — and disappeared into smoke.

In the distance, the sirens of the school defense units echoed.

Sol turned to Ryker.

"What the hell was that?"

Ryker didn't answer.

Because deep inside, something told him —

That wasn't the last time they'd meet.

And whatever path he thought he was walking…

It had already begun to twist.

Then came the announcement: "All students, return home immediately!" One by one, they left — silent, shaken, and unsure of what had just begun.
