Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Almost There!

Weeks went by,soon I got bored.Making me to make home phonecalls.I insisted however, to visit some of my city relatives, before embarking on my return journeys.Soon after fares got sent,I prepared myself for travel, just days before.I alerted everyone, slowly started confronting my grandma ,thanking her for not entertaining slothfulness, and all the moral stories and support she had offered me.It became a norm for me,to read over and over the book of proverbs, immediately after waking up ever since I was a tyro teen.It became my moral compass somehow,or a morning therapy, but I however became oblivious to such teachings or even postponed such sessions in such divine journeys.

Soon enough, I got lucky to finally board a Rongai van.Such vans were modern, stylish, loud, big enough, decorated internally with screens, sound systems, wifi, artistic visuals, comfy seats, lightful arrangements. On the exterior:graphittis, trumpet horn sound, stylish wheel rims, light systems epitomed the conspicuous special types of vans. The loud trumpy horn signalled the arrivals at the estate, after such rides.I contacted my uncle who in turn came to pick me up at stage in his Subaru Forester .After such short rides,we arrived at his pristine, private, quiet residences. The guard opened the gates, which allowed him to park around the ample parking spots. He then led me to his apartment, where eventually I was able to meet my long-time cousins : Kaity and Daesy.Their apartment spoke volumes concerning the elite lifestyles, and cuisine environments;smart appliances, home fibres, and various technologies embraced by it's beautiful intrinsic designs awed me to such debut exposures. In such family gatherings:uncle, aunt and the two daughters,we were able to know more about each other; Kaity was a part time student at a private university due to her pregnancy while Daesy being a law student, got engaged to local politics during such seasons; becoming a youth mobilizer, working closely with political parties e.t.c.

The following day,I got left alone with Kaity after everyone had left for their businesses.I got a chance to interact with Kaity concerning her mathematics related course;trying to analyze the nature of university's examinations that seemed quite fair in my eyes. Then we discussed her favorite Nat Geo channel commenting on various indigenous rare creatures in various habitats;their hunting skills,or survival tactics, while weaving crotches in her hobbies.I usually aided around in house cleaning in her such dire conditions. When feeling quite better at other days, she would lead me in such brisk walks to her dad's workplace, where she was a personal assistant.I would idley hang around scrutinizing the office spaces in awes, playing with the desktop;computer games like driving or just browsing the internet like YouTube: listening to music, and watching other contents. At one evening while left alone with uncle,he then decided to take me out for shopping that night.By then the results were out ,I had scored an impressive 82 points that triggered him to such rewarding shopping experiences. He bought me expensive shoes, attires, and other snacky items. For the rest of the days,Daesy partially came home after campaigning for some days, she briefly stayed before embarking on her tours.Uncle then drove me to his city church on Sundays, exposed me also to other neighbouring relatives like Sami.Sami then was a construction worker at his homestead. His economical but strict dad used him for his projects' agendas.I used then to cross over the streets, other times ,in my wandering pursuits just to aid him.On one occasion,Sami then decided to take me out to the neighboring pool areas for gambling purposes, then to Maasai lodge at his own costs where we dined in such cuisine environments.

I returned home, soon to participate in my civic duties at such temperament political seasons.Campaigns intensified, politicians sought divine interventions at such eleventh hours, but most importantly peaceful messages were being echoed to the electorate, despite the reverberating turn out reminders. The day, finally dawned, media was busy highlighting the transparent process from dawn in such anticipations.I was among the long queues at the polling station. Special groups of voters were given priorities, which further delayed such queues. Finally,I was able to debut my first votes inside the ballot boxes hysterically.Participating in such democratic processes left me with a sense of satisfactions given to the proverbial fact that lots are casted but the decision is from the Lord in such efforts of ending contentions fairly. The lord knows the heart's intentions, perhaps, learning then from my proverbs' journals. The results soon came out, however the presidential results got challenged at the highest court in the land.I followed through the procedures in the media. However,I got a calling letter to a college in Meru in which I was to soon start studying medicine. That meant, that again I was in rush hours to travel back again. On arrivals,we had to encamp at our uncle's place after he promised to escort us to such anonymous places. We stayed for a while a few days before admissions, at his place. In the meanwhile,he took me around the city as we did stationary shoppings(diaries,a4books e.t.c),plus other necessary shoppings. As we returned ,he then beseeched me in his series of advices to stay focused, find the right company e.t.c.

As the days neared,we were all glued to the on- going legal battles.Litigants, plaintiffs, bench of judges, defendants, voluminous sets of references meant to be reviewed, created a chilling legal battle.Daesey commented much, since she was in such fields(law and politics). She seemed to know by name and profile, the popular legal brains in the country that got engaged in such lawsuits. The night ended in such family gatherings, commenting on the trending election legal battles.

I went to bed even as we looked forward to begin our Meru journey the following early morning.

That dawn were about to begin the anonymous intrepidity journey as we all woke up to such preparations.By then,my mother and another elder cousin were guests at my uncle's place.Soon enough,we all gathered in a circle uttering orisons for the sake of the journey ahead. Both Kaity and Daesy afterwards cuddled me,"Bye, safe journey,we will miss you!" "I'll miss you two too!"I emotionally replied to them. The valedictions to them was genuine, recalling all the moments we spent together since we were kids, and coincidentally as young people.Later on,we all commuted uncle's car in such take offs.We drove for a long while(about 5hrs) before eventually reaching the university premises.

The guards then welcomed us by strict check-ups before further driving inside. After finding a suitable parking spot,we all got delighted to reach safe and sound as we alighted. We then met a huge crowd of freshmen students along with their guardians, friends and families who were gearing up for admissions, registrations activities, and other scheduled phases in that day.We then learnt about the accomodations options;there those who came with mattresses as they had already decided to live outside the school premises, while there were those like myself who geared up to sleep around the school's hostels. We moved further to join the long queues for various registrations accordingly:general, then specific courses, accomodations and so forth. In such helter-skelters at the open grounds for the better part of the day, I anxiously witnessed the dusk just out of my love with nature.

After going through various registration desks successfully,we were finally guided to our specific hostel where I met other three hostel mates inside. We had brief interactions with them in such introductions before I got handed over my specific key in the long run.Afterwards, we had a final family interaction moments, that evening, where we oriented briefly the huge premises while commenting, had brisk photo sessions activities before eventually waving byes to them as they endeavoured to travel back home. That night,we got guided as freshmen,to a mess hall for commercial supper intakes, before later on retiring to bed.

That following dawn,I woke up,only to begin journalling the previous day-I was glad to be escorted by mum, uncle and elder Pete.We had candid interactions along the way,got scared on the roads, but we eventually arrived. We underwent registrations before meeting my new roommates at the hostel.I then later on escorted my family back to their car after brief orientations and photo sessions.

The following week, dawn suddenly set in,while on bed.Sleeping too close to the window,I then got awed by the appearance of Mt.Kenya's peaks at such distances ,that misty mornings, that in turn refreshed me hence setting the mood for Monday. After likewise receiving directional texts sent to freshers,I then prepared myself orderly before embarking to my first class.

I entered the class, where we all soon settled in, awaiting our first lecturer.Long silence reigned for a while at such periods before a volunteer initiated a series of brief interactions (we individually stood up,to give such brief introductions),then later on,we went ahead to select a class representative who later on formed a whats app group for the class.Later on,the first lecturer came in, welcomed us before commencing. After about three hours, the lecturer ended his lecture by stating that he would send timetables flexibly, assignments and other communications to the class rep who in turn will reiterate such communications to our whats app group. The vital role of the class rep. was to provide such urgent informations about any changes in venue, lec. absentias,make- ups lectures,or change in lecturing times, assignments and their submissions, projects , presentations and group works, tests announcements and so forth. With time as we began learning the units,I made friends.

The first debut units as weeks went by that we were learning were: introductions to computer, cell, tissue biology, genetics and embryology, gross anatomy 1, Biochemistry 1, Physiology 1,and finally communications skills. Two boys came close to me ,in terms of friendships, which proved perennial. One of them was called Jacob Mars while the other was called Victor Michaels.Jacob Mars was a well-built handsome lad,not tall enough, loved flirting with girls, economical lifestyles but funny.Victor Michaels was a hype-boy,tall,dark and handsome, loved garrulousness about anything even if it made no sense but he was fairly social to both genders. At one time after my last class,I came genuinely closely to know the two boys who lived together outside the school's premises. We began conversing as I escorted them back home.

"Hey yo guys.I see you are living together outside!"Tentatively I mentioned. Mars replied,"Yeah,we got to know each other during registrations, in such hypes, before agreeing to share costs outside." "I found him at the queues, came up with crazy interesting ideas that got his attentions, that was where our friendship began."Victor added."Nice to meet each other."I complemented then."So you guys in your opinions maybe, how do you see this place so far?Or just how did you end up doing med.Because you guys are just way too hype in my perspectives!" Then comically Mars began,"For me,my backgrounds were not pleasants.I was raised in a poor family.Being the firstborn,I fought in local street fights in order to raise fees for my siblings and I.Also got a chance to provide for my family in the long run.I got inspired by Mohammed Ali,while watching movies about him in the ghetto. You know such movies have exaggerated voice overs like Dj Afro,so that the ghetto kids can understand in a layman's language , comically and satirically. Those were my childhood bases. As time went by,an outbreak epidemic broke out in our area code which then set the tone for my future career.I worked hard in school, dropped out, repeated classes at other points as I was hustling for fees. But thank God, through the helb program,I made it to university to pursue my dream course." We then flattered about his journey story for a while before Victor began his,"My background is strange as it may sound. My family members are part of the secret drug cartels around the country.I grew up visiting their bases, where they processed commercial drugs, without licensures of course, but such observations made me fall in love with pharmacy.I got at crossroads between deciding to choose medicine or pharmacy, but since pharmacy was highly competitive ,only few slots got rendered to few candidates,I however ended up in this course(the selection process stuff). As hype as I am of course due to long term drug effects,I however focused on my journalled long terms goals in the long run.I also had financial crisis,at one point, after most of my friends and family lost their lives in such risky businesses. My elder siblings then luckily excelled in their other businesses which in turn pushed me ahead academically.I was orphaned ,a factor which also gave me a chance to acquire various bursaries and currently the helb loans."

We walked along as I also narrated to them my backgrounds and how I ended up doing the course. We were all surviving on helb loans currently, a common factor.Medicine proved to be among the most expensive courses in the country, but against all odds,we were still pushing through.Soon enough in such colloquialism of knowing each other better,we got inside their outside hostel, had meals together after culinary arts, listened to music all throughout while twaddling before leaving the scene that late nights. As I walked alone that wee of the night, then I came across security -checks before retiring to bed eventually.

Sunday came fast enough where again the c.u (christian union club; where I was a member with time) officials reminded us to take seriously their activities. At such seasons, the eight o'clock classes were still too early to attend for most grumpy and grumbling students, considering the merciless freezing morning temperatures. The cold showers proved torturous in my expeditious pursuits of preparations for my case.

Our first continuous assessment tests came soon enough. It was easy on sight.I wrote everything down before lapsing times. My two besties commended me for that habit.

But then, there were delays in student loans disbursements that slowly stirred up grumpiness among students.Life was becoming unbearable, and they heavily depended on such loans.Students were soon receiving despairing messages from the administration.Units de-registrations for mass students was looming because also of such muddling delays.Secret meetings led by their leadership were convened as weeks went by.They then, were trying to forge a way forward so that the students' welfares were not disrupted. They later on went ahead to meet with the administration in a series of meetings, but solutions still proved futile. The government was the problem.Administration, superfluously wanted things to run smoothly, while on the other hand, students wanted their welfare to be catered for. Perhaps historically,it became a situation whereby the only way the government could heed to the voices of it's people became a melancholy norm.

A series of peaceful protests broke out suddenly followed by class boycotts.Under local medias' cameras and lights, students were seen echoeing their demands to the government as they marched around (whistling, raising up chartful messages, and clamoring)in peaceful protests. This went on and on,until it angered the administration for such calender disruptions ,at one point. They sinisterly and stealthily ordered their personal security guards who camped nearby,to act violently in order to stomp out the menance nuances. It soon turned out to be a cat and mice chase for another gloomy week.Teargas cannisters were fired to disperse the gathering protestants, also with clubs at hand, the guards individually chased down stubborn students.Police vehicles drove up and down past the local farms,in such pursuits. The angry students then retaliated by throwing stones ,breaking glass windows of various school's buildings, injuring a couple of policemen, besides burning roadside tyres.

Through internal memos, administration then decided to call in an indefinite school closure, due to the dire situations.I packed quickly, under strict surveillances of roaming guards inside the premises.I took my bag and suitcase before running as fast as possible towards the school gate. The incopious vans took advantage. They hiked fares even as students, nevertheless, scrambled inside the vans as they emerged.Luckily,I boarded a van after a long while. On wards,I commuted other vans which eventually took me to a nearby county where auntie was staying.

On arrivals, the semi-arid region of Isiolo county, characterized by exorbitant high temperatures, became unfit for me.It could naturally boil an egg, after long whiles

. Through phone communications,I thereafter manoeuvred my ways to eventually settle at her premises.Auntie,"Welcome,Pete.I heard about the strikes in your school. It was all over the media.Just rest here for a while. You closed indefinitely,I guess!" "Yes indefinitely!"I agreed. "Okay, you just feel at home.If you feel like helping around, you can do that!" "Fine, don't worry I'm good at house chores,I will help!" "Thanks, that's why I like you!"Aunt complimented.During my stays,I usually did the normal chores obligations, before keeping her company at her workplace for the better part of the day.She had friends around the market with whom I got introduced to,with time.

A month later,HELB loans for an entire year suddenly got disbursed.I felt 'rich' as I had never before seen such amounts, sent to my mobile money account. However,I became extravagant.I went ahead to buy an expensive phone,'spoiled' my aunt with restaurant's dinners;eating spaghetti along with other traditional expensive aliments, and desserts.I further went ahead to do home shoppings for her.I also 'spoiled' her close friends at the marketplace.Sympathetically,I came across waifs and street kids who in turn became my besties even as I 'spoiled' them with snacks and drinks on a quotidian basis.Soon enough ,I realized that I was running low on cash,a fact that in turn made me cautious and economical.I decided then to spare a couple of emergency cash.

Suddenly after three and a half months, the media announced return dates for our embattled university along with other notable administrative changes. The following week,I set to embark back on my studies.I waved goodbye to auntie after a loving escort to the van stage. The subsequent vans soon took me safely to school. We all settled in, gradually, after strict security checks. The school calendar had to be adjusted even as upcoming vacations were reduced to two weeks,in such efforts of recovering lost times. There were rush hours for the remaining part of my first year.CATS,RATS and assignments got administered randomly, notes for self-reading were frequently sent online, did my first semester exams, before quickly transitioning to second semester a week later. In such rush hours, the lecturers reiterated the same methods of notes and tests administrations.

The two week vacation ended ,marking the start of my second academic year.

For the better part of that week,I spent my supper nights at their place just to be closer to them even as I had anticipated about the Friday's service.Friday night service soon took place,in my norms I went straight outside to pick them up from their place. After settling inside the hall for the service,I was then glad to be accompanied by my two classmates. The brisk praise and worship sessions soon lapsed before the drama ministry took stage. In their respective props, they then staged a funny, but spiritually and morally educative skit that made the audiences burst into loud laughters in the long run.Afterwards,I embarked on escorting my friends back home.

With time,I started attending meetings (drama ministry, branch of c.u) as a full decider. The meetings usually began five in the p.m at a specific venue. They only met twice a week usually, but in urgent situations, they adjusted the timetable. The meetings began with an opening prayer-praise and worship-brief intercessions before the actual meetings began. The skit writer was then invited forward by the coordinator after he stated his devotions, welcomed visitors or even invited devotions' volunteers. The director would then state his skit before allowing members to voluntarily pick various available roles. From stage manager, acting directors, sound and lights directors to individual roles;there were ample roles for almost everyone.

For the better part of my year two sem.one, was about gaining momentum in the christian union.Soon,we did exams, then had our two weeks- break before embarking on our second Semester which took off well. But then Victor Michaels had sneaked drugs for sale after home peer pressures. He in turn made, up -keep fortunes, sent other profit monies back home; he even further went ahead to involve us in his networks of businesses; giving us little commissions in the long run. This made me to gradually drift away from faith;no longer an active cu participant.Less attendances for not only devotions but also my normal classes. But we seem to enjoy ourselves into more illegal drug abuses after getting such incentives.I then knew the units for that semester:

(Microbiology and Parasitology 2, Systemic Pathology, Pharmacology 2, Clinical Skills development and Community health 2), were in deep trouble for the three of us.We thereafter entered our rooms in such anticipations of taking our first CAT in such hallucinated states. We seemed inebriate as our red eyes portrayed during that session.Cluelessly,we still remained behind after the rest of the students finished their tests on time.We made pondering gestures, like frequent body scratches, biting our pens as we helplessly tried to come up with the right answers to such labyrinthic questions. The lecturer got intemperate soon,he then quickly proceeded to snatch away our answer booklets. We then satirically left the room, despondent of the outcomes."I'm sure that's a fail,I guessed a lot, left blank spaces." "Yap,me too!" "Me three."

One day,we had inebriate conversations while I hosted my friends at my hostel room.Mars began,"Guys, how do you see.Today we go on a girl -hunt mission?" "I second your idea, let's just celebrate our sales for a while, forget about the academic headaches, you know just letting these chicks to emotionally stir us up!"Victor then added.Becoming fretful I then tried to reject,"Guys you know now we are drunk,if we forget ourselves in the long run then consequential bad things might happen.I suggest we sober up first!" "Time waits for no man.Being drunk stimulates our garrulousness.I think this is the right time and we must take full advantage! "I then got overpowered by their arguments, after all the majority wins."Okay fine,I give up!So how do you suggest tactically?"I further inquired.Mars ,the mastermind ,then elucidated the plans,"First we go through the backdoor,to hostel A,after eight p.m when most dinners' intakes have taken place. We start floor by floor, trying to find a full-occupied girls' room so that everyone gets a fair chance to flirtings." "Okay, that's a good idea but what if their boyfriends come later on,or we find a boy in the room?"I curiously asked. Then Victor replied,"In case of other boyfriends' issues,we peacefully leave, instead of causing further troubles than we are in right now (of our secret drunkenness)." "Yeah I second that!"Mars commented. The three of us soon tiptoed after the clock hit eight in the p.m.

Roaming past room by room,we were then searching for girlfriends. Most fresha girls were known by my two besties,in their wider social networkings in the long run.But it was merely from a friendship perspective. We suddenly entered another room, full of four known girls by my two besties. They then challenged my introverts ness by demanding me to choose a girl for flirting colloquialism.I obliged by randomly picking one of them."Hi,I'm Pete!" "Nice to meet you Pete,I'm Neema!" After greetings,I shyly began,"Ah!So Neema which course do you take?" "I take Nursing.I aspire to be a future nurse." "Wow!Nice course.I take medicine.I also aspire to be a surgeon in the near future!" I replied before proceeding,"Tell me about your life perhaps, back home or here at school.I'm just trying to figure you better, you know?" "Oh!Hmm!I'm the first born daughter!" "Wow I love first Borns!Okay you can continue!Sorry for that!" Then she continued,"At home basically I do farm works,my parents are active in military so their absentia makes me in charge at home for such long seasons. Most obligations are on me.But then we all got boarded to such distant schools due to the situations back home.I love the school.I'm just having a good time here!"

"What about you how are you faring at school?"She then asked tentatively. "I started with spirit ended up in flesh. That was my cu life.I honestly don't know what happened. The way I solemnly promised by family, that I would be serious in searching the face of God.I even forgot about my usual Proverbs' devotions.I guess my peers sympathetically asked me for a hand, to market their secret businesses, which then left me in such balancing confusions about spiritual, academic and social lives." "Could you tell me about their businesses?" "No!I can't!I'm sorry it's a secret."I then quickly defended.A long silence then proceeded, perhaps a mistrust had pierced through amongst us.Then I tried to change the topic,"Do you like perhaps Soap Operas?" "Yes!I love the Indian Soap Operas.I usually watch them, every evening after classes at a nearby entertainment joint around the hostel." "Could I maybe join you to watch? You know every evening I find you at the joint.I come in with a couple of snacks, then we snack while being entertained. You know what I mean?" "Yeah!I would be really glad if you start doing that!I would highly appreciate your company and kind gestures!"She hysterically replied."I see the visiting times are about to lapse , maybe I could get your number as we look forward for further conversations?" "Sure, why not?I also look forward to fun times ahead!"We then all left the room, after such gesturing agreements. We walked towards my hostel room as we gossiped about our nice times in that room.We all seemed to pick our girlfriends, along with their numbers in such mission accomplishments.

Weeks went by as we then chatted with our new girlfriends:by phone or just physically visiting their premises. For my case,I used to just hang around with Neema at the entertainment joints during evenings, snacking while watching Indian Soaps. She was all along happier to be around my company. We then had convivial chats all along:

Hey Neema.Im done with classes? Can I come to the hostel?

N:I'm almost done!I will text you back after classes.

P:Looking forward!I love you ❤️

N:I love you too 💗

Or even had romantic night chats:

P:That soap by the way was on point. The way Krish fought for her lover!I just wish to be doing the same to you.

N:HaHa!I love you.I guess Vidy was at crossroads. Two guys hunting her down.Such situations put girls in tricky situations. But true love won,I guess.

P:Hey,I heard about an upcoming concerts in a nearby stadium targeting the youth audience.Would you mind accompanying me?The budget is on me.

N:I'm sorry but I have a busy schedule.I wish I could spare more time.Just understand.

P:It's okay,I respect your personal space.Goodnight.I love you ❤️

N: Goodnight too!I 💕 you too!

But then little did I know that I was slowly being alienated when we had another set of chats:

P:Today being Saturday,no classes. How about I take you to a town restaurant this afternoon?

N:Hmm!I'm sorry, today I just feel exhausted.I just decided to spend my day here in my hostel room.Maybe another time!

P:It's okay,I'll come to visit you later then, with take-away meals!

N:No! Don't come!I mean,I just need sleep and personal space! My head is spinning!

P:Okay!I'll come at least to see you ,with painkillers for relieving headaches, perhaps it will make you feel better?

N:No!I'm serious.I slept late last night!

P:Slept late?Doing what?And with whom?

N:Its none of your business!

P:None of my,,,Babe I thought we were supposed to be accountable to each other!

N:Gotta go!Have a nice day!

P:Fine I'll leave you alone.Ouick recovery! 💕

But then no love usual replies came back! The following week, the situation aggravated. On such soap watching-evenings while snacking, she used to force her smiles, refused to lean on my chest, unlike before, refused hugs and oftenly forgot to wish me love you message as I departed from her. When I questioned her reactions ;she gave her usual feeling unwell excuses; sympathetically I would then try to understand her. That Friday night,I had firmly decided that I would pay her a surprise visit to her hostel room at eight p.m.On arrivals around at that time,I got shocked to find another boy flirting with her."Neema!Who is this?" The boy angrily then stood up,"And who the hell are you?" Neema then stood up between us in mediative efforts,"Guys calm down!Okay;Pete this is Mark and Mark this is Pete. All of you are my close friends.Mark is my neighbor back home,we grew up together, schooled together upto coincidentally at the same university.I also supposedly met Pete recently. He has been generous, kind and loving all throughout.Maybe we can slowly sit down and try have a good time amicably!" We then followed suit."Now that we are settled.Maybe we can begin by narrating your week, how you fared all along?"

Then in rememberence I questioned her,"Neema, you told me you were not feeling well?I just came by to check you out. Here is your rose flower."I then handed her over the flower out from my inner sweater pockets."Thanks Pete for your concerns!I'm recovering well."Then Mark complained,"Babe! But you didn't tell me that you're sick. And why are you accepting flower from this stranger;are you dating him?" Such words angered Neema, she knew further quarells would break out.She then stood up,"Both of you out now!" I then tried to understand,"Neema what's going on?Why is he calling you babe? And what is he talking about, not informing him that you were sick?" But adamant Neema would just have none of that,"Pete, for sanity's sake, just get out, right now I superfluously need a peace of mind!"We all then obliged to her louder solemn commanding tones.Outside her room,Mark and I were still arguing about being the legitimate boyfriend. She then came closer to us,when she overheard our quarells. She further made sure that we took separate routes. That night in my thoughts,I felt that I was wasting my time.I was drinking beer, secretly before my two besties suddenly visited me.

"Right on time guys!"I mentioned even as I greeted them."I need advice guys.So there is this girl,Neema,I'm not sure if you know her.She has this other boyfriend;a childhood friend with whom she grew up with. They schooled together romantically and coincidentally upto the university level. That night on our hunting mission, was when I flirted with her, took her number. And ever since,I have been kind of dating her; visiting her room;watching soap every evenings, buying snacks for her.The problem however came when I tried to take the dating experience a little higher.I tried to persuade her ,to go out to concert outside;she turned my request down.I then tried to take her out to a town restaurant ;she further turned my request down.I don't know!Should I continue pursuing her?" Then Victor advised,"I have many girlfriends, you know for backups. These boys and girls of this generation ain't loyal. But if you feel deep in your heart, that you are in love. You can continue to fight on.I'm just trying to suggest that you tentatively and probably increase your chances of finding the right one,by socializing more and more!" He then sipped his beer before Mars advised," I concur with Victor. You just try out other girls ,if she seems problematic you.I started flirting with various girls ever since I was in primary school.Texting them for the entire night. They soon left me one by one, after discovering that I was not giving them ample attentions. It was a fun experience, either way.I haven't stopped doing the same. But if you feel your are in love with her!Keep fighting on bro.Fight on!" "Alright!I think I'm in love with her.Against all odds!I will fight on!"I mentioned. We then furthered to tale bear other girls that Mars and Victor were intermingling with for the better part of that night.

The following week,I decided to fight for this girl.I arrived earlier than usual at Neema's room.Mark,on noticing my closeness, also decided to surprisingly visit Neema. He however found me inside as he anticipated to open the door."Eeh it's booked!Come at other times. We need space!"Mark then sadly left us alone in such submissions. But tribalism played a critical role, that ended up hurting me in the long run.

One Saturday morning,I came to check her out only to find Mark and Neema having vernacular colloquialism.I felt so far removed.I then interrupted, clearly putting my cards on the table and asking her to make a decision, right there at that time."I'm sorry Pete, for this kind of rejection. But I choose Mark;we understand each other better since we have come far together." "Neema, I'm deeply in love with you.I was willing to sacrifice everything just to display my heart felt love. But this,is just a crush to my heart.I wish you both good luck ahead."Melancholy and with teary eyes,I mentioned even as I slammed the door to leave them alone.Immediately,I went to washroom before embarking on a journey to visit my two besties.

On arrivals, they ushered me well before stating my case,"I have bad news guys!Neema decided to choose Mark after I found them together conversing in vernacular language.I went ahead boldly to ask Neema to choose infront of us,her boyfriend. That was when I got heart-broken." Victor then tried to calm me with beers,"Don't worry, heartbreaks teach you lessons that perhaps will elevate your relationship experiences.Drink more healing beers." Mars then added,"Now you need to spread your risks."For the better part of that Saturday,we abused more drugs that made us hypnotized if not hallucinated. This in turn, affected our second year second semester tests and exams in the long run. There were poorly done making us despondent of appearing on the pass list.

The third academic year later began. At the first semester's initial phase,we became anxious throughout.Mars stated,"Guys do you think that we can appear on the pass list?" "Absolutely not!" "No way!We were super high on drugs!" "Okay maybe this semester we should stay away from drugs, and other distractions. We need to focus in this critical, complex course!" "Yeah,I agree! We need to sharpen our focus lest we fall out of line." We knew about taking supplementary exams if we failed to appear on the pass list.Incredulously, a few weeks later, the pass list was out.And guess what?We were listed on the pass list.. Dubiously I hysterically spoke,"Wow guys! What kind of a miracle is this?We rarely studied last semester, just being high on drugs!" Victor added,"I can't even believe this is true.Other lecturers rarely came to class. We rarely also came to class, leave alone ignoring all those pdfs sent on our social medias. We must have had accurate guess works doing all those tests and assignments." Mars concurred,"I agree, then this means D's in those units, after all we were drunk fools. This semester, let's try as much as possible to sober up,have genuine group discussions so that we hope for better grade improvements.Ok,let's head out to student's center to kind of celebrate." We thereafter just agreed to adjust changes to our habits so that we could see grade improvements in the long run. That semester I was planning to vacate outside the school's premises after agreeing with my two besties. However,my roomy was still pressuring me to attend cu.He felt that I had back-slidden, didn't perform in the ministry, bible study group meetings, devotions and so forth.Recalling my previous semester experience and how I ended up on the pass list, miraculously,it was then that I felt the hand of God at work after all.

Soon,I resumed my cu activities. The cu also had attractive girls,a tempting factor, but I just secretly admired them in the long run.I thoughtfully recalled my proverbial journal about finding a wife is finding a good thing. It was when I sinisterly took advantage of drama ministry. On stage during the Friday night service, there was an act where I took a role of a lad in love, crushing towards my 'real life secret crush' ironically. Unconsciously,I almost kissed her heartily, but then she avoided it on stage. As the chairperson adjourned that service;she got angry and went ahead to announce against such misdemeanors on stage.Vali the victimized girl, sought to meet me afterwards,"what do you think you were doing?Trying to kiss me on stage, would ruin my moral reputations.Members will start jabbering my name, and how immoral I have become!" "I'm really sorry, honestly you are attractive to me,I have this crush on you.I just couldn't help myself, considering the close roles we had on stage!I'm sorry ,it won't happen again,I promise!" Eschewing her mouth, she then left my presence. The following drama meetings,I then decided to take soundtrack role,to just stop casting aspersions for the ministry's sake. The role was hard at the beginning, but after being guided by an experienced minister,I slowly synched my role.Downloading soundtracks depending on the moods of the scenes;sad, happy, loving, celebration, casual and so forth.

With time, the drama ministry had twists of turns. That is,it had visitors who collaborated with us at such rare moments. One notable visitors was an evangelical professional group of christian actors and actresses. We had privileges to perform alongside them that upcoming weekend. They came along with their props, and necessary miscallenous stuff. We dressed like angels, others demons. The planned skit was evangelical hoping to bring the general public unto salvation,in the long run.For the first time,I got sparkled with tiny shiny objects, had angelic wings, and a halo,in the rehearsal room.I was among the worshipping angels in such casting roles:

The act was basically about two kingdoms.Darkness versus light.Satan usually brought accusations against the children of God at his throne. He was determined to recruit more people to his sinisterly hell agendas.A group of people then begin acting, others got deceived in such small still hypnotic voices to act violently in disobedience, drunkenness, and other vices. While others rebuked such voices as they stood firmly in faith, went further ahead to preach gospel to turn away a couple of lost souls or sheep. The skit ends with judgment day.We the worshipping angels, usher in the judge. One by one, souls line up for such horrific judgements in presence of Satan and his demons. Then the curtains close down. The presenter makes further sincere alter calls,in which a good number of people, being impacted by the dreadful hell realities, decide surrender their lives.

Later on,other visiting schools also came after a while to perform alongside us.After mastering my soundtrack role,I was glad to minister for the guests. We then ate together in celebration after that collaborative act.At the end of semester,we culminated with the night of creative ministry;where we took charge of that Friday night service. We sub-divided ourselves.Others were to be ushers, instrumentalist, singers, secretary, while others just took the active drama roles;where we acted, practiced folk songs, danced,as we collaborated with media team.In essence, third year first semester was about growing in the creative ministry.

Second semester soon took off after a fortnight break.I felt strong in faith. My prayer life improved.I could pray continuously upto two hours. This was when I got noticed by my prayer leaders and started assigning me leading roles before services, and during gatherings. We also had prayer chains,in the afternoons, where we gathered in a derelict bungalow. My concluding orisons,in which I captured a few:

Father thank you for gathering us here.We know where two or more are gathered, your presence is with us.Let our petitions presented before you be acceptable.Amen

I further went ahead to start reading prayer books like,'Help!I'm married to an intercessor!' in pursuits of building my prayer life.Soon mission dates were announced for the planned mission to Maua.Vali being a close ally then reacted to me after service,"Are you going for the missions?I'll be glad to accompany all along." "Why not? I'll also be glad to have you around me.It's my first mission.I can't just wait to experience it!" "I have nice stories about missions. The crusades, tours and sporty activities. It just sounded adventurous and fun.Ok,let's take coffee Pete!"

The second semester was also the student council elections season. This elections was exciting because my ministry's friends and classmates were determined to participate.Soon, the council gazzeted the timelines and candidates on various noticeboards. The campaign season later kicked off.The candidates were moving helter skelter from one class to another during free times;elucidating their manifestos to the electorate. The poster menance became vivid as almost every notice board and strategic places were jammed with such campaigns. One on top of the other, that's how fierce the competition became. Those targeting executive positions, organized mini-rallies at various parks around the school.Mobilizations also was characterized with rivalry as they endeavoured to cast aspersions against each other. Clamoring at such rallies, created political tensions as they went further to attack the administration in verbosities. Our class representative, urged us to spread his campaign leaflets,he also used to take us out for coffee drinks at the student center.

My prayer ministry role, led me to fall in love with a specific girl in such concluding roles that Saturday night -where we usually gathered for longer evening intercessions.Holding her hand,I suddenly quoted the Psalmist, about unless the Lord builds a house, those who build,do it in vain.As we opened our eyes, after conclusions, the girl shook her hand ,while still holding her, in such freight after all.I endeavoured to know her more, afterwards."Hi,I'm Pete!" "I'm Ayre!" "Where do you live Ayre?" "I live outside." "Oh I see,do you mind if I could escort you maybe?" "No problem" "Before I forget!I will buy coffee then we head out okay!" "Sure ,no problem! Thanks!" I sponsored her a coffee drink at the canteen before escorting her thereafter. We then had flirting sessions as walked towards her place. But I didn't take her number, since I had no serious intentions with her.She just cooked supper, ate as we furthered our christian conversations, while listening to the latest christian contemporary music.

Just two days before missionary journey,I decided to camp inside my two besties' place in anticipation of the upcoming Friday night service.Suddenly, the police began their raid on such building known for harboring illegal drugs.Apartment after apartment, under search warrants, they land-rovered suspects to a nearby police station. We weren't spared either.A cup evidenced with a smell of drug had set us up.In my cu t-shirt,I tried to argue my immaculate innocence, but they fell on deaf ears.We instead spent our Friday night, inside a jail.Mars said,"Whose cup was that? How careless of us?" "I don't know.Last night,we had invited friends for drinking spree,at their own costs even as we just hosted them. Then, they went ahead to come with their smokes, obnoxiously leaving such stains to our utensils." I then interjected,"So you are saying that other guys came to party at your hosting place.Carelessly, left drug traces all over your place?" Victor concurred,"Something like that!I know we made such anti-drugs vows. But this, just caught us off guard.I'm sorry Pete, even as you looked forward to escort us to the Friday night service." "No problem!I understand! Now we must know how the hell do we get out of here?" Mars tentatively said,"The only way out,is if we try to convince the officers around in such bail out bribery attempts before Monday, where they would take us to court." "Yeah, it's a good idea.On Monday,I have a mission journey to embark to.We must do everything in our power, whatsoever to convince them." Then Victor ideally mentioned,"First,we present our ideas;if successful,we then ask for their phones whereby we contact home for mobile money transfers." "Let's try tomorrow,it seems like tonight, they are not around!" That night we uncomfortably slept around such tiny space.Urine bucket inside aggravated our comfort situations,as the amoniac stench gave little breathing spaces. The cold nights on the bare floor, impossible sleeping turns even as more prisoners were being stuffed inside our prison-for petty mistakes in their night patrols' missions. They all contributed to one helluva sleepless night on our empty stomachs. It became a case of just counting down hours to dawn in such anticipations.

Longer than expected,in such dire situations, morning dawned.I shifted gradually to just sit along.I awoke my two besties later on.On hearing ,that lunch meals were only provided in jail.I became despondently weak. But this then triggered me to alert my allies about our earlier plans."Guys, the more we stay here the worse everything becomes.I can't bear this place anymore!" Mars then stood up,"Don't worry,I'm on it right away!" He then called a guard nearby. They then had a while private conversations before returning."So what did he say?" "He said that he is going to secretly discuss our issues at hand with the chief police in charge. Then he would reply.I tried to negotiate a bail out price for three of us with him.He mentioned ten K.I told him in dissuades to lower the price. But the situation seems hopeful after all." We then waited for a while, before Mars got called again. They had another set of private colloquialism before coming back again."He said, the chief boss had agreed to a settling price of 7k for the three of us.We need to raise that money as soon as possible before Monday."It then followed a series of phone calls back home, after being granted by the guards.Raising such amounts seemed an uphill task,as it caught our parents off-guard.Luckily, we were able to raise after further contacting other friends and relatives. We were glad to be out, that early Monday morning. The last amounts were sent that Monday dawn by a whisker.Otherwise we had hopelessly braced ourselves for court sessions ahead.

As we walked outside,I suddenly remembered the missions."Guys I'm sorry I have to leave you.I have a mission bus to catch!" I then rushed towards my outside home hostel.I packed the suitcase before rushing again, without bathes,to the school gate.I was almost there for the missions. The mission bus was just about to take off, after hopelessly waiting for me for a long while. The journey seemed interesting, manoeving to new sites ,past the national park;distantly viewing elephants, giraffes, apes, and other species fascinated the travel experience.Soon,we arrived at our camping church.Got warmth receptions that evening. We were then directed to supper intakes in such queues before embarking on our first night service.Afterwards, the boys were then directed to a distant boarding school during recessions.Inside a large hall,we all got squeezed;sharing mattresses and beddings in such dire situations. We used to wake up at four in the a.m for devotions before embarking on further preparations and breakfasts.Hanging around with Vali and former roomy enlightened my mission experiences for few days then;door to door missions, sports' evangelism, cleaning activities and so forth.

Then on one evening crusades,as we jumped up and down making dancing queued-movements around.I then suddenly spotted Ayre talking to another boy while just chilling.Such traumas then made me step back for a while, being moody,I just then decided to distantly watch the rest while standing. Then Vali approached me,"What's wrong? Why suddenly inactive?" "Nothing,I just got traumatized!" "By what exactly?" "It's just a situation where I got heart-broken due to stiff competition for a girl. Then on spotting, another crush talking with a boy got me traumatized suddenly!" "I'm really sorry for that! And who is that another crush?Definately, not me this time!" "It's not you bestie, you are just a good friend to me,and I highly appreciate that.I'm sorry but it's a secret!" "Well then!If you feel traumatized it's good to take such breaks, but I'm also glad you opened up to me.A critical phase in healing process.I will try to cheer you up in the long run.Don't worry."Then Vali left my presence with such advices of comfort.I had firmly resolved to approach her(Ayre) in such bravado manner. But then I saw to it no point of another 'girl scramble' situation.Roomy and Vali thereafter kept me in light moods for the remaining times spent at the missions.

Soon,we were back embracing for another three months -long vacations. The trending African football tournament kept our tongues wagging along with my family back home. Hysterically trying to cheer on our country which debut in such tournament after a long time.We also tried to predict matches while we sat down around, watching them.

I went further ahead to volunteer with the Red cross society in enhancing the local community's resilience, adhering to their code of conducts, and implementing my dedication oath of impacting positively the community.I actively took part in their water, sanitations and hygienic programs(WASH) for the better part of that vacations.

Soon, after short travels,I then settled down to my apartment.I got connected to another family friend, whom I never knew ,just lived near the school. From phone communications,I was able to visit her much hidden place. After several knocks,I cringed the door open only to find nobody inside.I got confused, but then I decided to wait inside the living room.Madam Guisher was my supposed host. She was a grand ma and ma to a family friend back at Mombasa. Suddenly she came in."Pete! How are you?" "I'm fine madam."I mentioned even as we greeted each other. "How is Mombasa?" "Mombasa is fine! The warm weather ,unlike here!" "What about the people back there?Your family? My family?" "My family are well.I thank God.Your family is also doing fine.Your grandkid, Guisher Jr. is growing up clever.I remember tutoring him during vacations." "It's good to hear that.I'm just busy on my farm projects. My youngest son,who is a little bit older, helps me around but sometimes he spends his times at his friends' places ,or just watching soccer at various joints.I'm sure, you will meet him later. He is called Jaiden." "I look forward to meet Jaiden." "Okay, let me prepare some aliments and refreshments ,if you wouldn't mind?" "No!I won't mind. Thanks!" She then went ahead to prepare such refreshments in which I gladly took them as we furthered our conversations."How is the university taking you?" She asked even as I sipped my teacup."University is awesome.I'm taking medicine.I survived the pass lists. There were also strikes at the beginning but the conduct is well now."

"I remember such strikes.Students came around here to take shelter. We sympathized with them, provided them fruits as well as short staycations."Madam Guisher reiterated."It scary such times,I remember running aimlessly across these farm fields.Being teargased. But now the situation is calm. The students, administration, and the government all get along!" "Wow!So the issue was the government or what?"Madam Guisher asked. "The issue was late student loans disbursements that brought friction and conflicts amongst the students with the administration." "Ooh!I also heard about changes in the administration. You have a new vc right?" "Through ruffles of measures, the government also decided to install a new vc in an effort of restoring public confidence." "The government did the right thing! So how do you see this place. The cost of living?" "I recently moved out.Life here is kind of cheap compared to buying meals at school.I just buy ugali flour, cook with kales,a larger portion that will take me upto a day, hence saving money. But water scarcity in this area is challenging. At school ,they have a back up electricity, huge water tanks. So that means,I have to ,other times transit to school, just to wash my attires, bathe or even complete assignments in case of such outages." "This area has water scarcity issue.I usually get tap water, twice a month. We ,well ,the rest of water at a nearby neighborhood. We also have fewer power connectivity which gets lost due to the challenging weather. But I'm glad to hear that you're still faring well, despite the challenges you face outside. Are there thieves perhaps?"

"I had encountered few thefts before. My pairs of shoes, and other clothes got stolen while leaving them outside to dry.Since then,I have learnt my lessons the hard way.I usually stay around to watch my stuff dry." "I'm glad you took such initiatives. You should always be on guard. Are there any challenges, security maybe?" "Not quite,is just that on one rainy night, rats invaded my room.On such sites, you know the huge grotesque wild rats.I vomited on my bedsheets that night.Such frightening experiences ,left me sleepless." "I'm sorry Pete! That must have been a nightmare.Vomitting on your bed sheets at night is not normal!I'm glad you recovered.Okay, finish up your tea!I hope Jaiden will find you here.Let me go and wash utensils as I prepare githeri. You love githeri?" "Yes I do!It's one of my favorite meals, especially when mashed with potatoes!" "Exactly! That's what I'm working on!"Madam Guisher reiterated as she headed to the kitchen.

Soon,Jaiden came in.He was from watching an Arsenal game that previous day, before camping at his friends' place that night."Hey Pete! Right?" "Right!"I stood up in such hype -greetings before we all settled down."I was told about you by my mum, after you two got connected.I was to wait for you.But then you know the late- night champions league game involving Arsenal couldn't pass me by.I had to sleep at my friend's premises then. That's why I'm late."Jaiden tried to excuse himself. We then had sporty kind of conversations with him.Discussing the previous African tournament, the premier league teams. But then being much into basketball than football,he seemed to be more knowledgeable.Soon,I left them after offering my gratitudes.I left with a bunch of fruits as gifts, heading home.

As time went by,I slowly introduced Mars and Victor to Madam Guisher. After such a visit in which we were then all gifted fruits,we soon slowly but rarely returned to her place helping around with farm works, cooking, welling water and other chores as time went by.

During class, another international news broke out spread by our lecturer on viewing his phone. He suddenly stated that a global pandemic affected most countries, which in turn had reached our country .There was an emergency cabinet meeting that day to discuss possible suspensions of social activities like schooling,in order to curb the spread at it's early phase. For the better part of that day, students were gossiping such breaking news which had spread like wildfires. On hearing rumors about press briefings from state house that evening,we all rushed to various television spots in anticipation of suspensions' announcements. You could have thought it was a favorite football match being crowded for viewership.

"If we treat this disease normally,it will treat us abnormally."Those were the captured sentiments from the health cabinet secretary who was giving further guidances concerning the health crisis along with the president and other government officials. The following morning,it was rush hour,we again closed school for indefinite periods. The COVID-19 pandemic was a global health crisis caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. It disrupted societies, economies, and healthcare systems worldwide.

For the first three months, such dire situations were witnessed in hospitals; congestions,ICU admissions, shortages of equipments which triggered donations from wealthier countries upon the needy countries.Curfews, lockdowns, strict health protocols observations and economical recessions also characterized such periods.Ministry of health gave daily press briefings, releasing statistics and updates in such meanwhiles in their commitments to curb the menances.Ignorances however, angered their speeches as they recorded a rise in the graph. In the international scenes however, countries were in a rush to find suitable vaccines in hope of returning back to normal lives. The new norm was steadily being witnessed at the educational sector after three months had lapsed. The use of online classes through various applications like zoom.We were at the advanced clinical training academic year.At school,we used to make use of our referral hospital at the school's premises.Due to the current situations, our lecturers used medical simulated videos to proceed their lectures.Soon,we did our assignments, tests and finally exams online touching on medicine 3,surgery 3, paediatrics 3,obstetrics and gynecology 3,and finally psychiatry 1 units. Then, we took a fortnight break, before returning on the second semester period. It became hard to balance online education and the free times back home, where forms of entertainments and hang outs were tempting but I tried my level best to focus on the units such as: medicine 4, surgery 4, paediatrics 4, obstetrics and gynecology 4 and psychiatry 2.As we ended the semester, there were global scientific breakthroughs on -going where vaccines such as Pfizer,Mordena and Astrazeneca were being distributed, the crisis became manageable as it was peaking, the new norm became adaptable despite the prevailing mental health crisis that also came along. However, social gatherings like places of worship, graduations, rallies, sports were still banned, hence they were encouraged to use online platforms.Such groups then politicized the issue arguing that the virus was at a mild stage, hence social gatherings could be made possible.Being pressurized, the government then allowed gradual social gatherings in phases;the urgent course students were to return first as they monitored the situation, then the rest would follow suit later.

As we then returned for our fifth year there were however enforced vaccine mandates and passports for travels and public access.Masking, social distancing, sanitizations were also observed during classes during the first semester.Fifth year was about specialized rotations where we were pragmatically taught the units using the hospital.I rejoined with my two besties, however Jacob Mars seemed traumatized by the pandemic from his childhood experiences. He confessed how previous maladies came to mind which in turn brought mental strains. He could hardly concentrate during online classes. He hardly replied our texts back home.He was at his lowest points as stated, but he managed to push through all along with the help of his supporting family and friends. As everyone returned slowly along with other activities,I came up with an idea which might perhaps enlighten his spirits.I suggested that we indulge ourselves into sports' activities."Good idea!"They aquiescented."I will try out darts.I have always admired such sport. As kids we used to play marbles, targeting an opponent against his hole.I was good at aiming. Then at highschool,I used to pass by at such dart bases, where guys gambled as I spectated.I got rare chances to participate where I lost or won some couple of games." Victor elucidated."I will try out rugby 7's,even though I grew up in duelling sports,I still admired our rugby team at highschool.I also got a chance to represent them. However,we got overpowered by other schools in such high school tournaments.I hope this time,I will represent my school well."Jacob narrated his aspirations."For my case,I will participate in the basketball.Even though I grew up gambling playstation soccer games,I fell in love with basketball.Got good at it,as I became a star in my primary school,as I took them all the way to the nationals, being the top scorer.I got injured during trainings,a fact that made me miss out on on nationals games.I also hope to reciprocate the same,as I look forward to ace the finals."I also elucidated my aspirations.

We soon embarked on sports, being dedicated,we were then picked to represent the school for the upcoming games.

Our school having privileges to host both drama and sports finals that year,we got motivated enough. We easily traversed most stages, even as our school endeavoured to take more actors, actresses, and sports' personalities to the finals. The schools' dream finally came to pass.We had the most representatives in both the nationals of sports and drama contests.Alot of buses then parked around the school's premises in anticipation of such finals which took place concurrently.I got a chance to interact with various students who came from far and wide perhaps hoping to meet Tina,my childhood crush, who was also a sports' enthusiast. The tournaments went on well;shouts were being ululuted (both at fields and auditorium)as our school grabbed most medals. Our strict dawn and dusk trainings, where we jogged uphill, ardeously practiced as we motivated each other finally paid off.Victor Michaels was able to grab a gold medal in the darts.Jacob along with his team grabbed a bronze medal. Finally, our basketball team grabbed a silver medal.I still provided crucial points in the long run.The three of us then later met to celebrate such glorious moments together;biting our medals, taking selfies, going out for town clubbing on a certain Saturday night along with other sports' mates.

The second semester soon arrived. We then decided to focus on other club participations. We were in an environmental and first aid club. The main objectives were to plant trees targetively, conserve environment, provide first aid volunteerily using our kits, work out programs and therapies like yoga, along with actively participating in innovation week.Innovation week was open to all students.Students were to come up with unique projects across various fields. They would then present them in front of adjudicators who would in turn announce the first three winners at the end of that week. The first three winners were heavily awarded with handsome cash prizes despite their projects being preserved in the museums of the innovation building.Jacob, Victor and I focused on affordable and accessible Medical Devices:

1.3D-Printed Prosthetic Limbs – Low-cost, customizable prosthetics for amputees.

2.DIY Blood Pressure Monitor – A low-cost, solar-powered BP monitor for rural clinics.

3.Handheld Ultrasound Scanner – A smartphone-powered ultrasound device for remote areas.

After finally coming up with them, we then rehearsed our presentations before eventually going to the 'Innovation week' building. We however met unlikely connoisseurs (lecturers who had beefed with Jacob for his insolent class attendances), a factor which perhaps drew us to the third place at the end of that week.We then shared the prize amongst ourselves; it all relieved us considering the economical impact of the pandemic. The semester ended, however, we were to hang around the county for attachments.

We did our extended elective rotations as part of the attachments during that long vacations. With log books at hand, our supervisors were to comment on our daily tasks on such books. It was a tempting experience working alongside attractive(physical or sexual) supervisors, and her team.I was glad, however,to assist around;diagnosing patients, recording accounting stuff, administering medicines along with drug prescription pharmaceutical activities. At the end of my three months, the lecturer in charge finally came to check me out as she later confirmed and commented on my attachments on my log book. The delta and omricon COVID variants by then were nominal being least impactful.

My final sixth year was all about supervised clinical internships around our referral hospital. After submitting my log book along with it's report,we soon kicked off our internships. The first semester we focused on medicine (diagnosing the communicable and non communicable maladies),surgery(simulated intestinal surgeries, orthopedic, throat and so forth), paediatrics (early childhood treatments and vaccinations), obstetrics and gynecology (focused on pregnant women plus their related maladies).

We later on had group assignments, reports write-ups,and presentations.

The second semester which was my last, was characterized with the aspect of many parties as we geared up for winding up studies.

Weeks later, my two besties then invited me to a birthday party of another classmate around their hostel building. That night,I arrived at the scene.Mars, Victor, the class rep. plus various classmates had already arrived. They were being served with alcoholic drinks.Conforming with them,I also got served reluctantly.Alcohol had done liver damages, hence weakening my delicate immune system. We interacted well and with familiarity before the dance sessions began.Explicitly,I never knew that my classmates could dance romantically and sexually.Partially drank, and with my back against the wall,a classmate girl then just came to closely dance against my still body.It was a tempting experience if not dreadful (first time experience).I suddenly became garrulous inside the venue, dispomaniacly sputtering loud insensible words around.Mars and Victor then decided to take me to their room,on seeing my misdemeanors. That Sunday morning,I unconsciously woke up in the mid- mornings, oblivious to everything."What happened guys?" Mars who was preparing breakfasts then stated,"Last night you got drunk! You became too loud talking about things that didn't make any sense. We then decided to transfer you to our bed,in the middle of that party!" "Drunk! What words was I saying! Were they offensive?" I then inquired.Victor browsing his laptop then elucidated,"You were there confessing your loves to that classmate who danced with you.Don't you know that she has a boyfriend?" "Oh!That classmate! You know I've been through a lot in relationships, trying to find the right one;the heartbreaks and disappointments. Then, this classmate used to give me a good company at the market, library, hospital.I used to gift her with snacks like smokies, boiled eggs after shopping together at the markets most of the evenings. She lives at our hostel buildings. But I didn't know that she had a boyfriend! Another disappointment,I guess!" I tried to recall.

Mars then explained,"His boyfriend later came to the bash.It could have been problematic if he had found you uttering such loud words!" Then I became grateful,"Ok,thanks for being there for me at the nick of time,I guess!" After aliments, showers,I soon sobered up before returning back home.Vali seemed to be the last standing girl after all.She was just there for me,but I never thought again about crushing on her after that crazy cu incident.

On one of the planned trips amongst the drama ministry members,I chose to stay close to her.On that very trip day,I went straight to pick her from her home."Hi Vali!" "Hi Pete!" "Today I have personally decided to pick you up.Are you ready for Ngara Ndare?" Blushing, and laughing, she then said,"Ooh!Thanks! What a surprise!I'm ready, just wait here for a while." She then prepared herself for a long while, before picking up her bags as we then treked to the van stage where other guys were waiting for us.All along we were chatting about the anticipated place, school lives, plus spiritual lives.Soon,we conglomerated along with the rest at the stage.A hired van was expected to pick us for the entire journeys. It made us grumble for a while as time went by.Finally,it came by.We all went on board before it took off.I still chose to stay close to Vali for the entire journey experiences. The journey to Ngare Ndare Forest, nestled at the foothills of Mount Kenya in Meru County, is nothing short of exhilarating. This hidden gem, known for its turquoise blue pools, lush forests, and the longest canopy walk in East Africa, offers an adventure like no other.

The Journey Begins

Leaving the school premises at noon, the road trip is a thrilling experience in itself. As we drive past Nanyuki, the cool mountain air fills the car, and the breathtaking view of Mount Kenya's snow-capped peaks looms in the distance. The final stretch to Ngare Ndare is rugged and bumpy, a perfect build-up to the adventure that awaits.

The Canopy Walk – Suspended in the Treetops

Our first stop is the famous 450-meter-long canopy walk, suspended 40 feet above the forest floor. As I step onto the swinging bridge, adrenaline surges through me. The view from above is breathtaking—elephants roaming below, birds darting through the thick foliage, and the sun filtering through the leaves, creating a magical golden glow.

The Turquoise Blue Pools – A Hidden Paradise

Next, we trek through the forest, guided by the distant sound of cascading waterfalls. When we finally arrive, we are met with an enchanting turquoise pool, fed by a waterfall gushing from the rocks above. The water is crystal clear and ice-cold, but that doesn't stop us from taking a daring plunge. The rush of the freezing water is both shocking and refreshing!

Hiking & Wildlife Encounters

The adventure continues as we hike deeper into the forest. Along the way, we spot buffalo footprints, hear the distant trumpet of elephants, and even catch a glimpse of a troop of colobus monkeys swinging from the trees. The air is thick with the scent of wildflowers and damp earth, a reminder that we are deep in nature's embrace.

Sunset & Departure

As the sun sets, we sit by the riverbank, soaking in the last golden rays. The forest is alive with the sounds of chirping birds and rustling leaves. It's a moment of peace before we pack up and begin the journey back, our hearts still racing from the day's adventures.

Final Thoughts

Ngare Ndare is a hidden paradise, a place where thrill-seekers and nature lovers alike find solace and excitement. From swaying canopy bridges to icy waterfall dives, every moment is a rush of adrenaline and wonder. It's not just a trip—it's an experience that lingers long after you leave.Taking selfies, while hiking along with Vali, enlightened my moods. That evening we then got dropped at the town center for a while. We then proceeded to mall shopping experiences, dining in restaurants before embarking on our final journey to school that night.

As time went by,Vali and I also had orphanage visits, and Sunday school ministry as part of the cu programs. We further got delighted to just interact with such vulnerable kids;teaching them ,serving meals to them, while embracing them with love.My times with Vali soon culminated with the planned 'elders party and nights, where those about to finish school, were given an opportunity by the cu to hold their afternoon party and later on grace their last Friday night service. On that elder party,in which we danced, had plenty of fun games, cooked and mealed together I had a candid close interactions with Vali during mealtimes,"Vali! You know this is our perhaps last interactions; recently I have enjoyed myself in the local Sunday schools, orphanages, ministry, and finally Ngara Ndare, the epic moment.Your company proved thrilling and fun.I wish we could just extend our twaddles later on." "Pete,I have also enjoyed your presence.Drama and mission incidents, which somehow excited me.But we can only be friends,we can't go beyond that?" "What do you mean by saying that?" "As tempting as it may sound, you are one kind sweet boy to hang around.Very kind, understanding, social.I enjoyed the birthday moments with you.I meant it to do it from the bottom of my heart, because I also fell in love with you.At Ngara Ndare, where we hiked, took delightful photos, swam inside the cold waters together,it was also enjoyable with you by my side. The later dinners and shoppings in which you generously gifted me altogether.I highly appreciated such kind gestures. But then,I got engaged to a neighbor around my hostel building. That neighbor proved his love even before I began interacting with you.It will be so unwise of me,to just disengage. We also had frequent moments together.I'm sorry just try to understand!" On hearing such shocking narratives, then I had anticipated to graduate with a degree plus a possible wife. But my efforts again, hit against the wall.Vali,my last hope, gave me such despairing messages that nuanced if not polarize my expectations."It's okay.I understand. Thanks for being honest."I said as my moods gradually shifted to melancholy. For just friendship sake with Vali,I then participated in elders' night later on.She however, seemed to flirt and laugh around with me,as we even rehearsed for that night. She was such a warm, loving kind soul. The night entailed taking over the service. The elders were then the ushers, various ministers, acting leaders, speakers as we even highlighted the night with an epic series of presentations;drama, choir, dance, personal spoken words and poetries.

Away from the cu,we also had organized a party for ourselves as classmates. We chose a needy site, that is,( where an elderly needy couple resided),as the venue of our party. After gifting them with goodies,we then chose to look for firewoods, assisting in cooking at such traditional scenes. We soon cooked, played fun games and finally mealed together in such fun interactions. After washing utensils, doing cleaning arounds, we then heartily and gratefully departed from their presence as we embarked on another hiking phase. We ardeously hiked up the hilly regions which became impossible to go along, due to it's lengthy steepness. I tried as much as possible to stay close to Mars and Victor."Guys !Wait up!This place is tiresome!"Panting heavily in sweats I whimpered. We then reached at the top peak areas, before our class rep. gathered us together.

"Guys!I know this is our last , perhaps fun sessions together. We visited the needy elderly couple.Gifted them.Helped around. Before we mealed hysterically. So,I'm glad to be your class rep.Helping to campaign for me ,even if I lost by a whisker in those elections. We have been through together all the same;the good and bad times.I was glad to serve you. Some of you,I beefed with along the way.Mars, you had beefs with even your lecturers, coming in anytime you want not signing the sheets." We then all laughed in unison. "Anyway,You should have no debts except the debt of love.If I have wrong anyone, please find it in your hearts to forgive me even as I forgive you."Murmurs then broke out amongst us. "Hey !Wait!I have not finished.Remember to submit your assignments!" Then we all grumbled satirically. "Ok but that Indian Lecturer keeps asking for assignments. Now,I want to give everyone a chance to have one or two comments about anything,we just wanna hear your voice at least for the last times." Afterwards the sessions began as we stood around each other.

Victor's turn came then,"Hi!I'm Victor Michaels! What I want to say is that,I enjoyed every moments with you:the rotations sessions, class sessions, online classes, group works and presentations, the bash, sports and club times with some of you.But Mars and Pete have been closer whatsoever,in my academic pursuits, and other cheeky activities. That's it guys .That's it!" Victor acknowledged our friendships,a fact that would perhaps build future trusts. The same got reiterated by Mars in his brief speeches,"Ah for me,as Victor has mentioned!I want also to acknowledge two besties who also held my hand through it all; Victor and Pete.Going together to view pass list keeping in mind that we were expecting polarized outcomes ,was one of the chilling experiences. At one time,we unexpectedly found our names, then,we were hopeless. The previous ' semesters tests were poorly done .You know, being left behind after everyone had finished their tests.Such was our 'bad semester ',but miraculously we managed to be featured on the pass list."Followed by a comical round of applause. Then, my turn finally came ,"First of all,I want to appreciate all of you.I somehow managed to individually interact with each one of you at one point. My classmate girl,Becky, with whom I slowly had a crush with.I also appreciate you.The market moments, birthday parties,.But then I was told that your boyfriend,a basketball player, was just around the corner during that bash."Suddenly, they burst into laughters."Ok,lastly,I want to appreciate Mars and Victor also for a lot of things. They were amongst the first besties I ever made, hopefully we will extend it later on.Through the thefts, pandemics, heartbreaks, cheekiness, spiritual times, sports, innovation week;they have stood close.Introducing them further to my other family friends.I'm just glad to have them around." I mentioned even as a round of applause followed. The rest then took stage.

Soon, we embarked on our final exams moments for the semester, most of them being pragmatic then.Afterwards,we all embraced and cuddled each other a final send off after inking our last tests. I was overwhelmed with emotions,as I cuddled Mars, and Victor during our last moments together. We however ,looked forward to perhaps meeting each other in the future in such optimisms.I took my bags, booked a train, before embarking home in one of the rare modes of transport.Inside the train,I then remembered all the times I had in the university.I also thought about my future plans, how I would spend that long vacations before again returning to school for my eventual graduations.I suddenly remembered the cultural festivals in Mombasa, the Sunday school etc.

I soon arrived home safely;I embraced everyone back home. They were all glad. However,as time went by,a crisis arose. The department's chairman gave both my parents and I urgent phone calls. It was about missing marks that would cost me yet another year of graduation.Dad argued,"What's going on?Why is your department chairman, saying that you have missing marks!" I then argued back,"I really don't know what is going on?I have my evidence of transcripts for all academic years." Then dad continued,"You know this is going to cost you another year,of waiting, you may not graduate soon. The chairman told me,you present yourself as soon as possible to him,so that you can earlier sort the issue or else you risk missing out in the upcoming graduations!" "Ok!Dad!I will travel next week to try and sort that issue out!" I then pleaded.

The following week, after travelling normally,I then arrived at his office.Gave brisk knocks, with my transcripts at hand, before being ushered inside,"Come in!" "Oh!Mr.Pete have your seat!" "Thank you sir!"I replied. The chairman then began,"Pete,I called your parents and you,to just try and clarify some missing marks issues.I usually record all your marks. But then,I don't understand how in previous academic years, you have missing marks?" Then I tried to elucidate,"Sir!I have transcripts' evidences here with me that I did all units. Here they are!You probably became oblivious at some point." On such sightful cross-examinations, he then commented,"Then, you know I can't just input unverified data like these to the database.Input is a long process. The graduations are about to start, and we need to finalize our databases." "Now what are we going to do?"I anxiously asked."I don't know!Maybe just randomly input grades. All these A's in your transcripts are questionable to just input them. These databases are checked against another file by various deans. So if they find out about missing files as they question these many A's it will become problematic." I tentatively then asked,"what then is the way forward, perhaps?" "Unless,I input unsuspecting grades like maybe C's and D's ,the deans might just ignore." Scrutinizing the dire unfair situations,I then sadly obliged,"Ok!If that's the way forward! But this is supposed to be a corrupt free zone,as your many sign boards state,it's unfair whatsoever,I'll just agree reluctantly!" He then went ahead to fill in C's and D's as I watched along.I melancholy left the school,half-happy perhaps that I almost missed out the upcoming graduations.

At home relaxing,I then was thinking about relieving such stress.Perhaps the beach or festivals, they were all my ideal thoughts.December came soon enough, where I decided to attend the cultural festivals as I had resolved.I was glad to interact with cuisine traditional meals, amazed by their cultural parades, concerts, the fun park activities. On the second day however,I came across Tina along with her two friends at the festivals. On seeing each other, she then ran to hug me,"I have missed you Pete!" "I have missed you two Tina!" Her friends then came closer before I released her,"Oh!Sorry!Pete! These are my two girlfriends;Lara and Marina.Lara and Marina this is my primary school boyfriend;Pete!" "Nice to meet you!" "Nice to meet you too!" We then greeted each other." Let's move to the bench garden,as we endeavor to know each other." We then moved to sit under a tree at the middle of the garden.I then began inquiring,"So Tina how have you been?" "I've been fine.I supposed that we are all awaiting our medical graduations?" "All of us?" I questioned. Tina continued,"Yeah,I mean,..Lara and Marina, went to Cambridge university did their six year programs and now they are awaiting to graduate soon.Your parents also told me about your upcoming graduations.I'm sorry ,for not visiting you,I had a company of guests, plus other tight schedules.I went to Jkuat juja, you went to kemu ,I guess.Yeah and that's how I just knew we were all awaiting medical graduations." "Wow!That's just dexterous of you!" Before continuing ,"So now that we are all awaiting medical graduations, maybe we all briefly state our experiences!" Tina then began,"My experience was tough.I mean the cost of living. The transports and cost of living at the environs near the CBD is quite expensive, considering my sponsored backgrounds. But I managed to still learn,as economically as possible.I didn't actively associate myself with clubs or sports due to such critical situations.Yeah! That was basically me,just struggling!" "Okay,I'm glad you pushed through! How about you Lara and Marina?"Then Lara began,"Marina and I have been classmates ever since highschool. We were fortunate enough to be selected to the same university, where we further rented a room together as we schooled. It was all the same a tough experience, battling through the cold weathers, peer pressures, culture shocks and all that stuff but we sticked together irregardless." "I'm glad you two were able to face your challenges together all throughout your years."

"As for me,I'm no different. The strikes, global pandemic, peer pressures, missing marks but I'm glad to be enlisted among the graduands in the upcoming graduations." We then furthered our colloquialism about unforgettable individual university's events as we laughed all along. We then went ahead to have fun good times at the festivals. For the remaining part of my holidays,I then decided to take my Sunday school kids out to the beach on one occasion.I then, decided to volunteer as a Sunday school teacher;using my previous creative ministry skills like dancing to teach them some moves, apart from the normal teaching lessons that I gave them.Using a hired van,my budgets, the kids seemed to all the same , enjoy their swimming experiences.

Soon,we were called for gowns collections and rehearsals before the soon D-Day.I had to camp at madam Guisher's place. She warmly received me.I had all the same, left all my stuff at her place, after I did my final exams.Madam Guisher,"Pete! You're back!" We then cuddled,"Yes!I'm back!" "I just came around to do the rehearsals, the D-Day is in about two days.Tommorrow at eight a.m ,the rehearsals begin.I was wondering maybe if you have some sleeping spaces?" "Oh!My dear!We don't have enough sleeping spaces! As you can see, this house is quite small, maybe you can lie on the sofa at night?" "No problems! It's understandable.By the way,my mum along with her family friends(including your daughter),will attend the graduation." "Wow!That's good news!I also wished I attended your graduation but Jaiden has been away for quite awhile and I must keep things running around." "Thanks for your concerns,no problems! We will then visit you back here, give you all the updates!" We then furthered our conversations about her daughter, her grand kid back home, before just relaxing.Spending an entire day at her place, was not boring after all.Loving politics, she used to give political comments concerning the state of the nation.Criticizing both local and wider politicians. She loved listening to a vernacular radio station in which then, Tina was familiar with.Interminable garrulous words of kameme fm,seemed to thrill her. After helping around, night fell soon.We criticized news as we received them through the radio in such colloquialism. After ,washing feet,I then set to retire to bed(sofa)that early night. On hearing my set phone alarms the following day,I then dashed quickly to the bathroom structure (made of polyhenes and wood stands) to take an early morning cold bathe before hurrying back to prepare myself. She also had woken up ,to prepare tea.I then gave salutations to her as I left her in such hurries.

On school arrivals,I was glad to meet the rest of my classmates. We then greeted each other, interacted for a while before the rehearsals shortly began. We queued ,picked gowns, tried on them as we took photos(along with Mars and Victor)."Guys, these gowns look awesome on us!The pictures can testify that!" I commented."But they seem oversized. If the cap fits ,wear it!But my head then seems a little bigger!"Mars complained then. Before Victor suggesting,"Maybe you can exchange it back?" "Good idea!Let me try my luck!" Mars said as he went to queue back for cap exchange. But then,he got lucky to have another one.Sooner,we proceeded to begin the actual rehearsals for the better part of that day.I came back to Madam Guisher's place with such attires, elucidating her the events of the day.She got thrilled after all,as I looked forward for the following day.

The following D-Day finally dawned. The university in such decorations set the mood for such an important day.Crowds started streaming in,that morning. The gates were sub-divided;for v.i.ps,for vehicle users, and finally for the others. The soon to be graduands majestically walked around, full in their attires, intermingling with their friends and families.Others like myself were waiting patiently for our concerned party while the rest were marching to the tented square gardens with their friends and family. It was such bee-hive of movements in which also brisk traders took advantage outside.I tried to connect to my mum on the phoneline,as I was waiting for her at the gates.Eventually,we got connected. She had lost her ways;however, she also came along with my brother plus other two family friends. After brief introductions and congratulations,in order,we then proceeded to march down towards the large tented arena at the square gardens where we were then thoroughly searched before being allowed inside. The most important guests for that glamorous events were ; the education cabinet secretary along with her permanent secretary ,and the chancellor (a billionaire who landed in a chopper for such event).

A Kenyan graduation ceremony is a highly anticipated event that marks the academic achievements of students, often accompanied by celebrations, formalities, and cultural traditions. It is an occasion filled with pride for graduates, their families, and the academic institutions. Here's a detailed description of how a typical graduation ceremony unfolds in Kenya, particularly at universities:

1. Pre-Ceremony Preparations

Invitation and Registration:

Graduates receive invitations from their respective universities, often with a specified date and venue. Graduates must confirm their attendance and sometimes register in advance.

In some universities, a graduation rehearsal is held a day or two before the ceremony, where students are guided on the event's proceedings, including where they should sit, how to walk, and the order of events.

Academic Regalia:

Graduates are expected to wear academic regalia, which includes a cap (often a mortarboard), a gown, and a hood (if they are receiving a master's or doctoral degree). The gown color may vary by degree program or faculty, and the cap is worn with pride to signify academic achievement.

Some universities provide these regalia for rent or for sale, while others may ask graduates to bring their own.

Guest Invitations:

The graduation ceremony typically involves invitations for family members, friends, and dignitaries. There are often special seats reserved for the invited guests, and these seats are usually in prominent places for easy viewing.

2. The Ceremony Begins

Arrival of Dignitaries and Procession:

The ceremony usually begins with a formal procession of academic staff, dignitaries, and other officials into the graduation hall. These include the Vice-Chancellor, deans of various faculties, and invited guests such as government officials or prominent figures in society.

The procession is accompanied by pomp and circumstance, with traditional music or fanfare.

National Anthem and Prayer:

Upon the arrival of the dignitaries, the national anthem of Kenya is sung. This is followed by an opening prayer, often led by a senior member of the university's chaplaincy or an invited religious leader, asking for blessings on the graduates and their future endeavors.

3. Opening Remarks and Speeches

Welcome Address:

The ceremony is officially opened with a speech by the Vice-Chancellor or another senior university official. This address typically includes a welcome to the graduates and their families, acknowledgment of the achievements of the graduates, and a reflection on the institution's progress.

Keynote Speech:

A prominent figure, such as a government official, renowned academic, or successful alumni, often delivers the keynote speech. This speech is motivational, emphasizing the importance of education, perseverance, and the role of the graduates in shaping the future of the nation.

Special Awards and Honors:

During the ceremony, certain exceptional students may be recognized with awards for academic excellence, community service, or leadership. These honors are typically presented by the university's leaders or the guest speaker.

4. Conferring of Degrees and Diplomas

Call of Names:

Graduates are called individually by name to come forward and receive their degree certificates. This part of the ceremony is the highlight, as students are recognized for their hard work and accomplishments.

Each graduate walks across the stage to receive their certificate or degree scroll from the Vice-Chancellor or the relevant dean. They may shake hands, take photographs, and briefly pause for applause.

Degree Conferment:

After each graduate has received their certificate, the Vice-Chancellor formally confers the degree, often accompanied by a short speech or declaration such as, "By the authority vested in me, I hereby confer upon you the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), Master of Science, etc."

Group Degrees:

Once all graduates have been called, the Vice-Chancellor or other dignitaries may also acknowledge the conferring of degrees for large groups of students by saying, "By the power vested in me, I confer degrees on all graduates of the university present today." This marks the formal completion of their academic journey.

5. The Oath Taking

Oath of Professionalism (if applicable):

For programs like medicine, law, and engineering, students may take an oath as part of their professional induction. This typically occurs after receiving their degree certificates.

In medicine, for instance, the Hippocratic Oath is recited, pledging to uphold ethical practices in their profession. This is often done in unison by the graduates as a sign of solidarity and commitment to their professional duties.

6. Closing Remarks and Benediction

Vote of Thanks:

A representative from the graduating class or an official may give a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the university, faculty, family, and friends for their support.

Final Speeches and Benediction:

The ceremony often concludes with a benediction, a final prayer or blessing offered for the graduates' future.

The university anthem may be sung as the official close of the ceremony. The procession of dignitaries exits, and the event ends.

7. Post-Ceremony Celebrations

Group Photos:

After the official ceremony, graduates usually gather in groups to take photos with family, friends, and faculty. These pictures are cherished memories of the special day.

Celebrations:

Graduates and their families may celebrate the accomplishment at lunches, dinners, or parties, either organized by the university or independently by students. The celebrations are often filled with joy, music, and dancing.

Additional Features

Cultural Traditions:

Some universities like ours may incorporate cultural performances, such as traditional dances, songs, or plays performed by students to showcase Kenya's rich heritage and diversity.

Graduation Gifts and Souvenirs:

In some cases unlike ours(immediately), graduates may receive gifts, such as framed certificates, medals, or university-branded items as mement.

In Kenya, universities such as the University of Nairobi, Kenyatta University, and Moi University hold such ceremonies at the end of the six-year medical course, where students formally take the oath as they are conferred their degrees.

Such colourful decorated series of events, including medical oath- taking took place, before it finally came to a close. We then took a couple of photos along with Mars,Victor,my mum, brother, former classmates, family friends before eventually heading to Madam Guisher's place. We were all delighted during that day even as we arrived at her place.Having blue shiny ribbons around my neck,a hat,and graduate's attires,I then became proud to just walk around.Madam Guisher was glad to embrace me back. There were then adult conversations before we soon set on our return journeys -due to vehicle rareness that evening. After waiting for a long time,we were then finally able to board a late evening van.The late journeys left us with no choice as we had decided to embark on lodging in Embu county that night.Afraid of bedbug menances,we finally found the right place.Early the following morning,we embarked on more restaurants and journeys that soon led us home eventually.I rested for a while.

After long idleness at home watching Boston Celtics triumphs at the NBA playoffs ,I then decided to volunteer teaching at my former primary school.Madam Solme, was hysterical to receive me after a long time.I hoped Tina could join me,but she seemed to have other scheduled activities. At school,I volunteered teaching Science, Mathematics, and Literature.

Madam Solme used to reward me in the long run.In her inquisitiveness,I looked ahead to another year of medical internships. It was a sense of a hopeful future ahead!
