Chapter 1: The Cold Heart of So-yeon

So-yeon walked into the dimly lit room, her heels clicking sharply against the floor. Hanging from the ceiling were a boy and a girl—bruised, beaten, and trembling. They had been tortured under her orders. Her face showed no emotion.

The boy, barely able to lift his head, looked at her with pleading eyes.

"Why are you doing this?" he asked, voice weak. "Haven't you ever loved someone? How can you be so cold-hearted? At least let my girlfriend go..."

So-yeon paused for a moment, his words stirring something buried deep within her. But she quickly masked it and turned away.

"Give them some food... and leave the girl," she instructed one of her guards.

As she left the room, memories flashed before her eyes—her younger self, walking through the school gates with hope in her heart. But those days were long gone.

Snapping back to reality, she headed to a small corner shop. She grabbed a drink and some chips, then walked to a nearby house.

It was a familiar place—her friend's house.

As she approached the door, it opened quickly.

"Oh, it's you!" Minji said, relieved.

So-yeon gave a faint smile and entered. The two sat together, sipping their drinks. The cold edge in So-yeon's eyes slowly softened, just a little.

After a while, Minji turned to her, raising an eyebrow. "So... are you still not going to tell me about your first love? Not even today?"

So-yeon looked down at her drink, quiet for a moment. Then she spoke softly.

"I'll tell you… but promise me you won't tell anyone. Not yet."
