Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Celestial Magic

Ren stood there, completely stunned. His hand still hovered above the glowing magic ball, but there was nothing—no sign of magic. No magic element. His heart sank, and the weight of confusion pressed on his chest.

"I... I don't have any magic?" Ren muttered to himself, his voice filled with disbelief.

Ryota, standing beside him, looked concerned. "Ren, don't worry. Maybe it's just a... glitch or something," he said, though he wasn't entirely sure himself.

Ren's mind was racing. He had always felt a connection to something, a power deep inside him. But now, the absence of any magic element was like a void he couldn't understand. The possibility of never being able to wield magic, something he thought was an essential part of his life, was too much to bear.

But then, suddenly, a voice broke through his thoughts.

"Don't worry," Airi said brightly, her eyes twinkling with a mysterious spark. "I think you have Celestial Magic."

Ren's gaze shot up, eyes wide. Ryota, equally startled, turned his head toward Airi. "Celestial Magic?" they both asked in unison, unsure of what they were hearing.

Airi smiled, her expression thoughtful. "Yes. Celestial Magic. It's one of the most powerful and rare types of magic in existence."

Misaki stepped forward, her voice serious now. "Celestial Magic is something truly extraordinary," she began, her tone tinged with respect. "It is a complex chain of magical structures, entirely different from the basic elements like fire or water. It's so rare that even advanced magic elements don't compare."

Ren blinked in confusion, his mind still processing the information. "But... why didn't it show up when I touched the ball?" he asked, his voice uncertain.

Misaki continued. "Because Celestial Magic isn't like any other magic. It isn't classified in the same way. You might not have an elemental magic, but that doesn't mean you don't have magic. In fact, Celestial Magic is even more powerful than most magic elements."

Ryota looked at Ren, his eyes wide with disbelief. "But how can you have magic if you don't have an element?"

Misaki nodded solemnly. "Celestial Magic is rarely inherited, and it's rarely seen. It's something created by an individual or gifted to them by nature. Some even receive it through unique circumstances or as a gift, but the most powerful Celestial Magic is often passed down through generations."

Ren's heart skipped a beat. He could hardly grasp what Misaki was saying. "So, you're telling me I have a power like that... and I didn't even know?"

Airi nodded, her face glowing with excitement. "Yes! You have one of the strongest kinds of magic. It's just that it's different from anything you've ever seen before."

"Impossible," Ryota muttered. "No magic at all... and then this? It doesn't make sense!"

Just as Ren was about to say something, Airi spoke again, her tone more serious. "But there's something else you should know. A person who possesses Celestial Magic might not have any other traditional magic elements, and that's okay. It's rare, but not impossible."

Ren's gaze turned to Airi, his mind swirling with questions. "But what do you mean by 'being like him'? Why do you keep saying that?"

Airi paused, her face a little flustered. She seemed to hesitate before speaking again. "Well... you see... I can sense the power within people. It's just... something I can do. I can tell you're different, Ren. You have something that others don't."

Ren raised an eyebrow, his instincts telling him something felt off. "I see..." he said slowly. "But for now, I'll take your word for it."

Misaki turned toward Ren, her expression softening slightly. "Celestial Magic isn't something that can be easily understood or controlled. You'll need to discover it for yourself, through practice and trial. But if you manage to master it, you will become a force like no other. A falling meteor, capable of destroying even kingdoms."
