"oh shit" she said as she woke up and sat upright in her seat, she looked so scared and confused, a little sweat was dripping down her forehead and hands were gripping tight on her phone in her laps, she looked to her left and there was a woman sitting with a little girl on her laps giving her the stink eye, "sorry" she said, apologizing to the woman for cursing in front of her child, she took her phone and looked at the time and date, it was still 13th October Thursday four o'clock in the evening, "fuck" she said after seeing the time and date hadn't changed, the woman to her left gasped while giving her the weird look again but May didn't even bother to apologize to her again, "The next station is green avenue passengers who are getting off please get ready" the conductor's voice was heard through the speakers allover the train, May wanted to make sure that when the train stops she would be in front of the door and get off the train immediately, however the moment she got off her seat she felt a heavy drowsiness that she almost fell but she quickly hang on tight to a pole that was in front of her to get balance, the drowsiness lasted a short while so she was able to get at the door safely and the train stopped, as she got off the train she bumped into a guy who was in a rush to get into the train, the bump was too hard that her phone almost fell but she was able to catch it before it hit the ground, she was breathing heavily and her heart was pounding so hard, she could hear it beat with every step she made walking away from train,she walked so fast glancing around her eyes not focused on anything, she was in such a hurry to leave the subway that she didn't notice that she was about to cross with the creepy old lady and her dog, she suddenly heard the sound of the dog viciously barking at her, she slowly turned around and stared at the dog with fascinated horror her eyes not blinking, "sorry she's not good with strangers" said the old lady as she pulled the dog away from her using the leash, May quickly ran towards the bathroom that was close by and when she reached for the door handle to open it, it was already being opened from the inside and two giggling ladies were coming out of the bathroom, she bumped into them as she ran inside.
When she got in she started pacing around in front of the mirror while scratching her head in search of answers of what was happening to her, as she was still pacing around in a panic and confusion she heard a ding sound from her phone inside her pocket, when she took it out she saw it was a text message from her mother, 'am so disappointed in you' said the text, "okay what the hell is going on" she said out loud after reading the text, she went ahead and leaned on the sink while staring at her face in the mirror, she remembered about the weird scar on her face next to her left eye, "please don't be there" she whispered constantly as she slowly pulled her hair backwards, however she was even more disappointed when she saw it was still there, she grabbed her purse and quickly got out of the bathroom.
she reached the point where she was supposed to crossover, with all the panic, confusion and fear running through her mind she had completely forgotten about the runaway car that always almost crushes her every time she tried to crossover, she quickly went ahead and started walking through the crosswalk without even looking at the lights, the moment she stepped foot on the crosswalk she saw the car coming in a high speed and she was too scared to even move a muscle, she froze till the car hit her and then it quickly hit the brakes, she flew up in the air a couple of meters away from the car and landed on her shoulder, she then rolled over a couple of times on the road till she eventually stopped, every car that was around that area was hitting their brakes to prevent further accident, May was lying in the middle of the road heavily injured and not able to move, she had a broken foot with a bone that had poked out of her flesh and she was loosing a lot of blood from her head, it was starting to spread allover the road, her face was covered in bruises that she got from the heavy fall, the driver of the car that hit her came out with his hands on his head and his eyes grew wide by the second, he was having trouble deciding what to do cause he was gazing around looking for help from people who were close by, he slowly walked towards May hoping that she might still be alive and when he got there he was accompanied by a lady who was on her phone trying to call for help, she went down on her knees while the driver stood beside May's body, she quickly reached for May's wrist to check for a pulse, "yeah, she's still alive" said the woman to the people on the phone, May could still hear the woman's voice like she was speaking from miles away cause she was starting to loose consciousness, a little tear drop was running down her cheek as she tried to get a look at the woman who was helping her, "she's loosing a lot of blood and the pulse rate is slowing down" said the woman, even though her vision was getting blurry she was able to catch the glimpse of the woman's face as she was still on the phone, she realized it was the weird woman who was always in a rush to get back to her son at home, "hang in there, they will be here in a sec" she added while staring down on May's face, her eyes were getting heavier every second till eventually she couldn't leave them open anymore, she had already lost a lot of blood and her heart beat was slowly fading away, she gave away her last dying breath and her heartbeat finally stopped, she was already dead even before the paramedics arrived.
"oh shit" she said as she woke upright and sat upright in her seat, she was breathing heavily and her heart was pounding so hard like it was about to explode, when she looked to her left it was the woman with a little girl on her laps giving her the stink eye as always, she leaned back in her seat and sighed in disappointment with her head facing the roof, she knew exactly that the day had re set after she died by the car accident, "the train's next stop is green avenue, passengers who are getting off please get ready" the conductor's voice was heard through speakers allover the train, May got up from her seat but she experienced an excruciating pain in her left foot that she fell down on one knee while holding her foot, "are you okay" asked the woman with a little girl in her laps, May looked back at her and nodded her head in reply, she got back up on her feet but before even she could make another step she felt a heavy drowsiness and pain in her head that she almost lost her balance, she was able to hang on tight on a pole that was in front of her to keep her from falling, the drowsiness lasted for a few seconds but she still felt the pain in her head like a very strong headache,when the doors to the train opened she was standing right in front of them ready to get off, but she saw the man she always bumped into every time she tried to get off the train, he was coming in a rush for the train, she moved to her left and let him board in first to avoid bumping into him again, after he got in that's when she got off the train, she was walking away from the train when she suddenly saw the creepy old lady and her dog coming towards the train, she walked towards them hoping things might be different this time but instead the dog viciously barked at her again just as she was about to cross the old lady, she turned to look at the old lady as the dog kept growling at her and she said the same exact words, "sorry, she's not good with strangers" said the old lady with a faint smile on her face, she was pulling the dog backwards away from May, May just replied back with a smile and then walked away she still confused as to why this was happening and didn't know how to make it stop, the headache was getting stronger and she headed to the bathroom to take some pills for it, she was almost at the door when the door was opened from inside and the same two giggling ladies came out of the bathroom, she looked at them as they headed back to the platform and at distance she was able to see the creepy old lady and her dog were still staring at her, she quickly went in the bathroom and in there she stood in front of the sink while looking at her reflection in the mirror, she was left shocked and confused by what she was seeing, her eyes grew wide and her jaws dropped like she was looking at a ghost, this time she had scars allover face like she had been in a terrible fight or accident, she tried touching the scars as she looked at herself in the mirror and they were all dried up like they had happened days ago, as she was still staring at the scars she heard a ding sound coming from her pocket, she took out her phone from her pocket and it was her mother that had sent the text, 'am so disappointed in you' said the text, she looked at the text for a few seconds and then sighed in disappointment, she went in her purse and took out the ibuprofen pills, she quickly spilled two of the pills in her palm and quickly swallowed them, she then opened the tap on the sink and drank from it, after she took the pills she carried her purse and left the bathroom.
She was already out of the subway heading towards the cafe that was on the other side of the road, she was about to crossover when she remembered the terrible car crush she had so she just stood at the side of the road and wait for the lights to go green, few seconds later the runaway car that crushed her last time passed in front of her in a high speed, she watched as it went down the road and then raised a middle finger at it, as she was looking at the speeding car the weird woman in a hurry to get back to her son came and stood beside her waiting to crossover, she was doing the exact same things as always, looking left or right to see if they weren't any cars on the road while tapping her foot, she was also constantly checking out the time in her watch, when she looked to her right she saw May was giving her the stink eye, "sorry I left my son alone at home, it's his first time" she said while looking at May with a little smirk on face, "okay this is starting to get old" said May in her mind, she then replied back to the woman with a smile, the lights had allowed them to crossover so they did and May made her way into the coffee shop.
There she found her friend waiting for her at the entrance with a cupcake that had a lighting candle on it, "happy birthday baby" said her friend soon as she entered, "put the cupcake away Hope" she said as she walked right past her and went to a table that was further from the entrance, "you are not going blow the candle, and what the hell happened to your face" she asked as she walked right behind her,
"you won't believe me even if I tell you" said May as she landed her purse on the table and took a seat,
"try me" said Hope as she sat down on the same table as May,
"you didn't believe me the last time, so I guess there's no point"
"what last time" asked Hope, May sighed a little and decided to tell her,
"i got hit by car and died, woke up on a train and....,and now am here"
"see now that sounds pretty much unbelievable" Hope replied,
"but not unbelievable as this, see these scars....." said May while pointing her own face "they are going to disappear in the next fifteen minutes" she added, Hope looked at her with a confused wondering what happened to her friend,
"you seem stressed, let me get you a milkshake"
"NO" shouted May while holding Hope's hand stopping her from leaving,
"relax its on the house, and since when do you turn down a free milkshake" said Hope,
"no, no milkshake okay, I don't want it to spill over me"
"buddy are you okay"
"yeah, why wouldn't I be" quickly replied May with a frustrated look in her eyes, as they were talking there was a guy who was passing behind May's chair, he tripped and bumped into the chair making May and her chair shake a little bit, soon as May felt the bump she looked to her far right and saw the lonely depressed guy with a cup of coffee in his hands,
"how long has he been sitting there" asked May while pointing at the guy,
"who, him" Hope replied while looking at the depressed guy "i don't know, two hours, I think, why" Hope replied too confused as to why May asked that question, May then looked to her left and saw a guy on another table who was getting a call about his wife,
"she's having a baby now, what hospital....., am on my way" said the guy to the phone then got up from the table leaving the cafe, she looked further to the front and saw a woman in a red blouse coming from the bathroom and sat at empty table that was already set with her order on it, as she looked at the woman that's when she got a chance to look at TV too, she saw the news about the serial killer who had just escaped police custody and when she looked at the photo of him she realized it was the one who always killed her every time she came out of the bar, just after seeing the picture she went on a shock, she started breathing heavily and her heart was racing again, Hope was calling out her name the whole time but she couldn't but hear her cause her voice was too vague in May's ears, it was like the world around her was on mute and the only thing she could hear was her heavy breathing and her heart pounding, "hey" said Hope as she snapped her fingers in front of May's face to get her attention, "are you okay" she asked,
"i need to get out of here" replied May and got off the table, she walked too fast to get out of the cafe while Hope was walking behind her calling out her name with every step, soon as she got out she stood at the side of the road and raised her hand to stop a taxi that was coming her way, the taxi slowly stopped in front of her and she got in, the taxi left and Hope was left at the side of the road watching the car as it went down the road.
In the car she got a phone call from her sister April but she didn't want to respond cause she already knew how the conversation was going to go and she was not ready for that kind of drama anymore, the taxi took her straight home for she was in a lot of stress and needed a rest, when she got home she threw her purse on the bed and then put her phone by the lampshade, she then threw herself on the bed and in just a few minutes she fell asleep, she woke three hours later and when she looked at the time on her phone it was nine minutes past ten at night, she was so happy after seeing the time cause she she had never made it past nine P.M before, she got up from her bed full of joy and cheery while dancing around the room, it was like Merry Christmas allover cause she was throwing pillows in the air full joy and jumping up and down in her bed, after being all happy she decided to go to the bathroom and take a shower, she looked at her face in the mirror and the scars had already disappeared, she wasn't that surprised cause she expected it to happen anytime soon, she went ahead to open the showers but the floor was still wet and slippery from the bath she took last time but she had completely forgotten that, when she got in she stepped on a little water and slipped with the back of her neck hitting on the handrail of the Jacuzzi that was next to her, she broke her neck and died instantly.
