Chapter 15 - Chapter 15 – Dark Alliances

The day was slowly passing under a gray fog. The school was silent, but there was an uneasy tension in the air. Rafe's presence, which had once seemed useful, now created a growing discomfort among the group. While they tried to forget the external threats, the internal one was becoming increasingly tangible.

The next morning, Arden pulled Kyra aside, speaking seriously. "We're going to keep watching him. We can't afford to miss anything."

Kyra's eyes narrowed. "Rafe?"

"He's too calm, too precise. Everything's perfect... too perfect." Arden paused for a moment, his gaze drifting far away. "Or maybe he's just too experienced."

Kyra hesitated for a second. "If that's the case, what should we do?"

"We need to learn something. His movements, they're too controlled. We need to see something different… maybe we're missing something important."

Kyra was silent for a moment, then nodded. "I get it. Something's starting to rot inside."

Arden nodded grimly. "Yes. And when Rafe goes out again, we need to follow. We need to know what he's really up to."

The next day, they started following Rafe without him noticing. While the others carried on with their tasks, Arden and Kyra silently observed his every step. There was something off about him—too calm, too focused. As they continued to watch, they saw Rafe head down a road they hadn't expected, far from the normal routes.

As always, he moved with precision, but something felt wrong. Soon, Arden and Kyra realized that he was heading towards an abandoned apartment building. The building was dark, but there was a faint light coming from one of the windows.

Arden and Kyra exchanged a look. They decided to get closer and find out what was happening inside. They had to act quietly and cautiously.

When they reached the building, they realized they weren't the only ones following him. Rafe wasn't alone inside. A group of unfamiliar people was with him, their faces hidden in shadows, but it was clear: they were not part of their team. They were part of something darker.

Arden took a deep breath. This was more than they had expected. Rafe wasn't just an observer—he was an agent. This entire setup had been a plan to trap them.

Kyra took a step back, whispering. "Is this it? What do we do now?"

Arden's voice was cold and firm. "We can't stop him here, but we'll find out what he's really after. Who he's really working with. We need to know everything, and we need to do it before it's too late."

The mystery behind Rafe's connections to these shadowy alliances, and the bigger plan they were all part of, was still unclear. But this was only the beginning. Arden was preparing for the upcoming confrontation with the darkness that awaited them.

As the night drew near, a heavy silence fell over the group. Arden, piecing together the information he had gathered, decided to learn more about Rafe. But this time, relying on mere observation wouldn't be enough. Rafe was always one step ahead, remaining calm and collected with every move.

Arden steeled himself, preparing for the next move. Soon, Rafe's mask would fall. This fight had become much bigger than they had anticipated.
