Chapter 1 - Afterwards! Mr. Anagram’s New Life. - 1

[Shorter Chapter - First Person]

I walk into my apartment, my brand new home. It's been years since I had real peace. All the times I thought I was fine, but it was always something, someone obstructing it. I had to abstract my life, experiencing the paranormal on multiple occasions. A strange man, an arrow, all catalyzed because of one person. But now, after all of this time I'll finally be at peace. A lot of my stuff, the stuff I still have at least, Are still being delivered to me. Going on a few-year-long round trip from here to America and back again really does scatter your belongings about.

I kept it simple, one bath, one bed, a kitchen, and a living room, only the essentials. And lucky for me, the rent is pretty cheap. I place my stuff down and lay on the floor of my blank canvas of an apartment. No furniture, no bed, not even a TV. I place my belongings that I had on hand into my room, and head out the door. I have to get accustomed to my new neighborhood, and buy furniture.

Walking down the sidewalks of where I live, I see lively families, merchants selling only but the best, and cars racing down the streets. Nothing compared to my first home back out in rural Osaka, or wherever I was. I walk for a bit longer and encounter a furniture store, to my luck, they have high-quality furniture, that is really cheap! But one couch specifically caught my eye. My couch. My couch from my old home. When I bought It originally, It was advertised as the worlds most fireproof leather couch. I dismissed this as just a stupid marketing tactic, but there it was without a burn on it. It still has the groove in the spot where I always sat after work. I bought it immediately, and lucky for me, I have a relatively strong stand, so moving the couch was light work. I also bought me a few other things that I got delivered, like bedding, a Tv set, and a few other necessities but for now I only Have my couch. It still kinda smells like ash, though that's something I can stand for now. A few hours later…

"It's late, and my bed hasn't been delivered yet." I say to myself.

My room was almost pitch black, because I never really bothered to cut the lights on once I moved in and sat on my couch. Memories just came flooding back. I can't believe it's been what? Three, four years since I was last there? I'm happy that I have at least a shard of my former life with me. I lie down on the couch and close my eyes, It's been a long day and now is the time for me to rest.
