Asena's behavior around Ray and her family had raised many suspicions. She preferred to keep to herself, and her anger to see ordinary pack workers humiliated and mistreated was well known. One incident that stood out was when she nearly lost her temper with a head cook who had slapped a pack worker. Her fists clenched tightly, and she stormed over to the cook, her body brushing against hers as she moved.
With a darkened and furrowed expression, she exhaled a sigh onto the cook's face. "Don't you dare hurt a single soul here. Do you understand me?" she asked, her voice firm and commanding. The cook nodded, her fingers trembling with fear. Asena turned to leave but then returned to the cook, who was still standing with the humiliated pack worker. "Apologize to her, woman," Asena instructed, her tone brooking no argument.
The cook turned to the pack worker. "I'm sorry, I was out of line," she said, her voice trembling.
Asena nodded, seemingly satisfied with the apology. "See that it doesn't happen again," she warned, her eyes flashing with a hint of warning.
"What's going on here?" Ray called out from the stairs, his footsteps echoing through the room. Asena's face twisted in anger as she glared at him. "Mind your own business, Ray. Just leave me alone, okay?" She warned, storming away from the living room where the incident had occurred.
Ray's words were cut off by a deadly glare from Asena, her eyes rolling heavenward with a long, exasperated hiss. "Pamela, what's happening to us? You're not..." He trailed off, his sentence left unfinished as she walked away, leaving him standing alone in the stairs.
Ray wondered what Asena was hiding and why she seemed to despise him so much. He turned to the workers, who were standing idly by, and motioned for them to follow him out of the compound. As they walked towards the parking lot, Ray tried to open the door of his Toyota Corolla NC, only to realize he had grabbed the wrong key holder. Just then, he remembered that Asena had the original key meant for the car.
As he turned to leave, he accidentally bumped into Asena. "Ouch, sorry, Pamela! You should watch where you're going, please!" he exclaimed, rubbing her shoulders to ease the soreness. But instead of apologizing, Asena pushed him away, her eyes flashing with anger. "What's actually wrong with you?" she demanded, her voice low and even.
"Ah, I forgot my keys! Let me just grab them inside," Ray said, hastily leaving Pamela standing alone. But as he entered his room, he was startled by the sound of his car's engine roaring to life. He rushed to the window and peered out, his eyes widening in shock. "Hey, what are you doing with my keys, Pamela?!" he said, his voice trembling with anger. But Pamela ignored him, put the car in gear, and sped off, the screeching sound of the tires scratching against the floor echoing through the air.
Ray's anger boiled over as he watched Pamela speed away in his car. He couldn't believe she would do something so reckless and disrespectful. He quickly grabbed his spare keys and ran out of the house, determined to catch up to her.
As he drove through the streets, he couldn't help but think about how much Pamela had changed lately. She used to be so kind and gentle, but now she seemed to be harboring deep-seated anger and resentment towards him.
After a few minutes of driving, Ray finally caught up to Pamela at a red light. He pulled up beside her and rolled down his window. "What's going on, Pamela? Why are you acting like this?" he asked, trying to keep his tone calm.
Pamela turned to him, her eyes flashing with anger. "You have no idea what I'm going through, Ray. You never have. You're always so self-absorbed and uncaring."
Ray was taken aback by her words. He had never seen Pamela like this before. "What are you talking about? I care about you deeply," he protested.
Pamela laughed bitterly. "You have a funny way of showing it. You always put yourself first and never consider my feelings."
The light turned green, and Pamela sped off again, leaving Ray feeling confused and concerned. What was going on with her?
"Just a heads up, sir; traffic is backed up ahead," a traffic warden alerted Ray, gesturing to the congested road. Ray's mind wandered back to Pamela, wondering what had transformed his sweet and caring partner into a seemingly vengeful person. "She's more reliable and understanding than a demon," he mused, shaking his head in disbelief. As he navigated through the traffic, he eventually made his way back to the pack mansion.
Meanwhile, Asena was driving to her family's building, feeling a deep sense of longing for the life she once knew. She had missed out on so much and now regretted letting love consume her. "Falling for love and dying for love," she thought, her heart heavy with sorrow. As she drove, she noticed a car tailing her, its presence reflected in her side mirror. She had been aware of it for a while and wondered who could be following her.
Asena's curiosity turned to concern as she wondered, "Who is this person?" She slowed down, expecting the car to pass her, but instead, it pulled over alongside her, sending her heart racing with panic. However, a sudden surge of courage propelled her forward, and she swiftly drove off, hoping to lose the mysterious follower. But to her dismay, the car continued to tail her, refusing to give up. "Who is this person?" she asked herself again, her anxiety escalating with each passing moment.
Asena felt a brief moment of relief as the car finally passed her, but her respite was short-lived. Within seconds, another car appeared out of nowhere and tailgated her, slamming into her vehicle from behind. The sudden impact made her heart skip a beat, and she struggled to maintain control of the wheel.
However, she summoned every ounce of strength and composure to stay focused, refusing to let the shocking turn of events throws her off course. With a surge of adrenaline, she sped up, determined to outrun her pursuers.
Her heart raced as she speeded down the highway, her eyes fixed on the road ahead. She couldn't believe what was happening. Who were these people, and why were they chasing her? She has done nothing wrong, or so she thought she was wronged in this same world.
As she drove, she noticed that the car behind her was gaining on her. She pushed her foot down on the accelerator, but they kept moving. Panic started to set in as she realized she might not be able to outrun. "Who the heck is chasing me? I'm so sure it's not Ray," she snapped when she realized he called her at first. Maybe he noticed she was recanted and wanted to take her life for the second time.
Just as she was starting to lose hope, Asena saw an exit sign up ahead. She took the exit, hoping to lose her pursuers in the crowded streets of the city. She weaved in and out of traffic, her heart pounding in her chest.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, she saw a parking garage up ahead. She pulled in, hoping to lose her pursuers in the crowded parking structure.
Asena pulled into a parking spot and turned off the engine. She sat there for a moment, trying to catch her breath. She looked around but didn't see anyone suspicious. Maybe she had finally lost them.
Just as the figure dragged her away, Asena's phone suddenly rang, its loud tone piercing the air and startling her. The shock of it made her heart skip a beat, and she felt a surge of adrenaline coursing through her veins. She struggled to break free, but her efforts were in vain. In a desperate bid to escape, she wrestled with her captor, but her strength was no match for theirs. As she fell to the ground, her phone slipped from her grasp and shattered into pieces.
Enraged and helpless, Asena's mind raced with thoughts of revenge, but her weakened state made it impossible to act on them. With a newfound determination, she scrambled to her feet, retrieved her car keys, and hastily entered her vehicle. She sped out of the garage, leaving her pursuers behind, and disappeared into the night, fuelled by a burning desire for retribution.
Asena arrived at the pack house, brushing past the greetings from the pack workers as she made her way to her room. However, Ray's voice halted her in her tracks. "Impressive run, Pamela! I didn't know you were this clever." Asena's heart skipped a beat as she wondered what Ray was referring to.
Had he discovered her true identity? And why was he chasing her? His chasing seems obvious.
