Chapter 2 - Begin

---

Liam Knight began to use his imagination to paint magnificent pictures. A boundless ocean, with waves rolling like titanic beasts, surged with the force of swallowing everything. A starry night sky, reminiscent of Van Gogh's Starry Night, stretched infinitely above, showcasing the mysterious depth of the universe. Towering Mount Everest loomed proudly, solemn and silent, exuding a quiet grandeur that demanded awe.

Liam turned the world in his mind into vivid images. From delicate flowers and swaying grass to majestic rivers and mighty mountains, everything he imagined took shape. Even the tiniest of mosquitoes appeared lifelike, buzzing faintly in the air.

The vast oceans. The sparkling cosmos. The snow-capped peaks that pierced the heavens.

He was like a gifted painter, creating one world after another with unwavering focus.

From galaxies to grains of sand.

His imagination could be grand or intricate.

Everything could be conjured with a single thought.

It all felt like a dream—yet it was real.

He was no longer just a wanderer in this world. He had become its master. This realm was the manifestation of his consciousness.

His thoughts slowly expanded, branching out endlessly. Even Liam himself did not anticipate how his mind would begin to merge with this strange world.

His spiritual power grew stronger with time. His soul grew purer with every breath. The world and Liam became one—his spirit in perfect harmony with the fabric of this place.

Each time he created a new piece of this world, his soul refined itself.

Eventually, his spirit reached a state of perfect clarity.

When all inspiration was exhausted, Liam began to embellish the world with something more personal.

As a devoted otaku in his previous life, he couldn't help but think of anime.

Characters like Ram and Rem, Roxy, Alice, Rikka Takanashi, and many more came to mind.

A thought struck him—what if he could bring them to life?

But nothing happened.

The world remained silent, frozen in stillness.

Liam frowned, scratching his head in frustration. His dream of manifesting his two-dimensional waifus was right in front of him—how could he just give up?

He began imagining them in greater detail, starting with their outfits. Maid uniforms, of course. White stockings conveyed a sense of purity and flawlessness. The contrast of black and white maids evoked a captivating allure. That was the aesthetic he adored.

He really loved white silk.

Still, no response.

The silence continued, and the surroundings began to blur, dissolve, and collapse.

Not only did his waifus fail to materialize, but the world itself began to fall apart.

In an instant, everything around him disintegrated into shimmering bubbles, disappearing into nothingness.

Then, hidden beneath the blank white world, Liam saw a strange orb of light.

It had been hidden deep—who would have expected another layer beneath the white realm?

This orb glowed with a soft blue hue, neither harsh nor blinding.

Liam had a hunch. If his guess was right, this could be the core of the system—the main god's light orb.

Curiosity piqued, he tried to approach it. But no matter how far he walked, he could never seem to get closer.

It was as though the orb remained fixed in place.

Liam frowned again. As the broken world struggled to maintain its form, invisible laws began to repair themselves. Gradually, the distance between Liam and the orb lessened.

Soon, he stood before it.

Liam reached out and touched the glowing orb.

The next moment, a cold, mechanical voice echoed in his mind:

> [System loading]

> [Scanning host identity... Intruder detected]

> [Scan failed due to unknown interference]

> [Retrying scan, please wait]

> [Scan failed]

> [Initiating host binding]

> [Binding failed]

> [Retrying host binding]

> [Binding failed]

The same synthetic tone repeated over and over like a broken recorder, looping nearly a hundred times.

Just as Liam began to yawn in boredom, the voice finally changed.

> [Intruder confirmed]

> [Commencing erasure]

A chill ran down Liam's spine.

The world trembled. A massive eye opened in the midst of the collapsing realm.

It stared at Liam silently, devoid of emotion.

Behind the monstrous eye, faint cries and mournful wails echoed like the screams of forgotten souls.

Liam blinked, unable to look away. A deep sense of dread gripped him, yet the expected pain or death never came. Instead, a strange calm washed over him.

The eye slowly closed.

> [Erasure failed]

The once-cold system voice now carried a trace of disturbance.

Liam blinked again. He wanted to laugh—but he couldn't.

Silence.

Both he and the system said nothing.

Finally, the voice returned.
