Chapter 2 - AAMH: Chapter 2

After discovering he couldn't leave Flushing, Yuma had no choice but to train in his shop every day. He opened the shop one day and closed it the next, hoping time would fly by quickly.

After a year of this monotonous routine, Yuma found himself utterly bored. He decided to follow in the footsteps of Kisuke Urahara and started experimenting with some Reishi tools in his shop.

With his current abilities, Yuma couldn't reach Urahara's level. He could only make some small trinkets, embedding a few Kidō and Bakudō spells within them. Their effectiveness was only a ten-thousandth of what Yuma could achieve when casting them himself, and the difference was even more significant compared to the fully chanted versions.

Whether it was due to the Marvel Cinematic Universe or a mutation in his Shinigami powers, Yuma's abilities were amplified by a factor of N compared to the anime and manga.

In the training ground provided by the system, Yuma's Bakudō spells became area-of-effect spells, capable of simultaneously binding multiple targets.

His Kidō spells were also area-of-effect spells. His Hirenkyaku was as powerful as a Cero!

Yuma kept some of the trinkets he made for his own research, while others were displayed in his shop at exorbitant prices as handicrafts. It was a bit of a mischievous hobby for him.

From then on, the shop no longer sold miscellaneous goods. Instead, it sold handmade crafts and a small selection of Reishi tools made by Yuma.

Peter Parker discovered Yuma's shop a year ago when he was in Chinatown with Ben.

Six-year-old Peter was drawn to the handicrafts Yuma made and went into the shop to browse. He accidentally discovered some Reishi tools with "magic" embedded in them.

From that moment on, Peter became convinced that Yuma was a magical wizard. Whenever he had free time, he would visit the shop hoping to learn magic so he wouldn't be afraid of the bullies who tormented him.

In the end, Peter didn't learn any magic, but he did become good friends with Yuma and got to enjoy Yuma's Chinese food and the Reishi tools he gifted him to fight back against his school bullies.

"Boss, when are you free to visit my house? Aunt May makes amazing walnut honey date bread. You have to try it. And I also have…" Peter, with his small sausage mouth, chattered incessantly after finishing Yuma's hot pot.

Yuma glanced at Peter. "The little rascal is up to something. You think I don't know that Tony Stark threw up after eating your Aunt May's walnut honey date bread?"

"Tomorrow, tomorrow I'll bring you a gift," Yuma interrupted. He could finally go out and explore tomorrow.

He had been confined to Flushing for two years, unable to even collect souls. It was like constantly shearing the same sheep. The Flushing area was practically bald.

"Great! What time are you coming tomorrow? How are you coming? Do you have the address? Or should Ben and I pick you up?" Peter was overjoyed that Yuma was finally coming to his house.

"Alright, Peter, I'll send Yuma the address. Go home now, or Aunt May will worry," Ben patted Peter on the back and turned to Yuma. "Yuma, you're very welcome to visit our house. May will be delighted."

"Okay, I'll try Aunt May's cooking tomorrow," Yuma said to them. "You guys go back now. It's not safe on the streets late at night."

Ben nodded and pulled Peter, who kept looking back, out the door.

After seeing Peter and Ben off, Yuma locked the door and went upstairs.

The shop was a duplex. The two floors together were about 200 square meters. The downstairs was the shop, and upstairs was Yuma's bedroom.

After tidying up and giving himself a simple disguise, he slipped out under the cover of night.

The [Shinigami System] required souls to exchange for items and lottery chances. The souls here were the souls of the deceased.

Fortunately, this was the Marvel world, and Yuma was in Queens, New York. Because of the large population and diverse ethnic makeup, there were always some criminals engaging in life-threatening activities late at night.

Those people were Yuma's source of souls.

Yuma always felt that since they had already disregarded life and death, he didn't need to be merciful to them. Many people needed those souls more than they did, like Ben Parker.

He arrived near a bank and sat on the roof of a building, watching the night scene and quietly waiting for the "souls" to arrive.

After midnight, several gunshots rang out a few blocks away. Yuma opened his eyes, confirmed the direction, and ran towards the source of the sound.

When he arrived, he discovered that five robbers were robbing an ATM and had encountered two police officers, leading to a shootout.

One of the police officers had been shot in the shoulder and was hiding behind the police car. The other officer was requesting backup.

"Why do foreigners always like to rob banks?" Yuma muttered under his breath. "Is it because they don't have mobile payment? Or is it some kind of special fetish?"

Seeing that the robbers had gotten the cash and were about to leave, Yuma quickly used Shunpo to appear near them.

"Bakudō #1, Sho!"

The five robbers saw a figure suddenly appear in the distance. Before they could raise their guns, Yuma unleashed five shockwaves from his fingertips, instantly piercing their hearts.

This was a deliberate suppression on Yuma's part. Otherwise, their bodies would have been shattered.

After collecting the five warm souls, Yuma's soul count had reached 906. He would soon complete the [Thousand Soul Slayer] achievement.

Yuma nodded with satisfaction, turned around, and left to check out other areas.

For the past year, Yuma had been going out to search every night. On lucky nights, he would get five or six souls. On unlucky nights, he wouldn't get a single one.

As for why he hadn't attracted the attention of S.H.I.E.L.D. or other organizations in the past year, Yuma guessed it was because he was only killing ordinary criminals. They weren't worth their attention.

[Mission Complete]

[Reward 1: Fully integrate into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, becoming a member of this world]

[Reward 2: 100 Souls]

[Soul count reaches 1000, Exchange Store unlocked, Lottery System unlocked]

Yuma was stunned after hearing the system's prompt. So, the functions were unlocked based on the number of souls. He gave up on continuing his soul search and hurried back to the shop to study the new functions.

Back home, Yuma opened the system and found that the [Exchange Store] and [Lottery Interface] were now lit up. The store currently only offered [Skill Cards] and [Character Experience Cards] for exchange, with varying soul requirements.

For example, [Skill Card: Kidō #90, Kurohitsugi (Fully Chanting Version)] required 10,000 souls.

[Character Experience Card: Ulquiorra Schiffer (Second Release)] required 500,000 souls.

As for the lottery, it cost 1000 souls per draw, and you could only draw 10 times a day.

Looking at all this, Yuma could only say that the functions were powerful, but they were also liver-damaging and kidney-damaging!

How many days and nights would he have to grind, how many kidneys would he have to sell to get enough souls?

Was he going to become a villain, replacing Thanos as the head of the Universal Population Control Committee?
