Kael awoke with a sense of certainty.
The hallways of the base were unusually silent. The air was heavier.
At the communication chamber, the panel was already lit. Mister's figure awaited him.
"Kael," Mister said. "The time has come."
Kael didn't answer immediately. He walked to the center of the room, standing face to face with the hologram.
"A mission?"
"Yes. Your first mission through time."
Behind Mister, a projection of an ancient civilization hovered.
"You will be sent to the Mesopotamia region, year 2790 B.C. An instability has been triggered by a profane who crossed through a secondary portal. He is trying to interfere with the royal line of priest-kings."
Kael listened attentively.
"What do you want me to do?"
"Observe. Evaluate. Intervene only if strictly necessary.
But before anything, you must follow these rules as immutable law."
Mister stepped closer to the projection.
"First: never bring a profane through a portal.
They don't understand. They don't belong on the other side."
"Understood."
"Second: never kill a profane — unless in self-defense or by direct order from LIGA."
Kael nodded.
"Third: never reveal your nature as an immortal.
The balance of time depends on secrecy."
Then, Mister revealed the LIGA Resource Chamber.
"There, you'll find everything you need: period clothing, gold, provisions, maps, language modules, a false identity, and the target's location.
What's left is yours."

Kael entered the Portal of the Pedra.
It was like falling and floating at the same time. Time broke into shimmering fragments of light.
He emerged in the middle of heat and dust.
He had arrived in Mesopotamia.
Wearing linen robes, simple jewelry, and the alias of a traveling merchant, Kael infiltrated the priest-king's circle.
The profane — a smooth-talking man with dangerous ideas — had already begun to convince the court he was worthy of sacred office.
Kael observed. Studied.
And then… he intervened.
A staged conversation. A quiet influence. A precise mental strike at just the right moment.
The profane was exposed.
Unmasked as a fraud.
No deaths. No chaos. No disruption.
---
Days later, back at the Comandos Base, the panel lit up again.
Mister appeared.
"Kael… your mission was 100% successful.
No deviations. No historical damage. No dimensional risk."
Kael gave a slight nod.
The first of many had been completed.
