Chapter 1 - prologue

Fairies are born of beauty.

Of blossoms kissed by moonlight. Of gemstones that hum ancient lullabies.

But him?

He came from a something fairies rarely come from.

A lemon—small, sour, fallen from its tree too early.

The other fairies whispered it was a curse. That no creature born of something so bitter could ever bloom clean.

He tried to belong.

Tried to twirl with the rose-born, laugh with the crystal-sprung. But even his giggles had bite. Even his sparkle was edged.

Because the truth?

He wasn't grown for wonder.

He was forged from sourness...not roses and daises or waterdrops or rare jewels.

When he touched things, they bloomed differently. Louder. Wilder. They craved him. Nature itself leaned toward him like a secret finally ready to confess.

And so, the Court cast him out—quietly. Politely. With fake pity and sugar-sweet lies.

But he didn't cry.

Because what they called wrong... he called freedom, a new breed.

[Malakhov Dimitri]

He was born in winter.

Not the storybook kind—no snowflakes and candles.

No.

This was Russian winter. The kind that steals your breath and doesn't give it back.

He was raised on silence. On frostbitten discipline. On lessons carved into bone.

His first kill came before his first kiss. Trained to become a beast, forced to kill from young age, always wrapped in darkness.

His father was legend—a man who once skinned a traitor, his best friend and right hand man, and planted lemon trees over the grave, swearing the roots would taste revenge and grow bitter enough to last generations.

They did.

The orchard became sacred. Not for beauty. For memory.

For warning.

And when the father died—gunned down in a war he didn't start but refused to lose—the boy became king.

But he never touched the orchard again.

Too much ghost in the air. Too much blood in the soil.

Until today.

Until something shimmered there—defiant, dangerous, dazzling.

A tiny, sparkling blasphemy perched on his land like it belonged.

A fairy.

And not just any.

One born of lemons.

Sass meets Brooding.

Fairy meets the deadly Tsar....a story woven through chaos, and supernatural. A modern spinoff of a male version of tinkerbell but sassier and a dark king....
