Chapter 1 - Chapter one - Legends

Violet was training hard, energy filling the air. Her purple hair tied in a ponytail. Her eyes filled with frustration. Why would father do this?! He's acting as if I have no opinion in this! Her powers grew with her anger.

"Wow, calm down Vye. Destroying the palace won't stop your marriage." Called her brother Victor as he trained with a guard. "Why are you here Vic? I thought you were at your little rainbow knights meeting" Violet said to Victor.

"We finished early, sis," Victor said to Violet. His purple eyes shining with playfulness. "But, we're having a full council meeting tomorrow," Victor continues, "the council needs the prophecies" Victor said seriously, knowing full well that the prophecy of purple comes with a curse. "What is so ridiculously serious that they need all of the prophecies, in one place? They know what happened last time!" Violet yelled, having heard of the legendary last time the prophecies came together.

I know mother warned us, she would be so mad if she was here. Victor thought before saying: "You know that is just legend, sister. It's the nonsense mother spatted." Victor's words are filled with venom. Clearly, he was still furious at their mother's death. One thing that he didn't mention was: Violet's scepter was the purple version of the one that their mother had. "It's not nonsense, brother! Mother's stories are true! If you ever used your head, not your sword you would know that!" Violet yelled back, her eyes filled with energy.

Before Victor could reply, their father interrupted "ENOUGH! You two are the heirs to the throne! Yet you act as children!" Their father yelled so loudly that they thought it could be heard in the Yellow Kingdom, which is across the planet. "Come on, pops. You're acting like you don't fight with Uncle Cyan," Victor says, trying to break up the tension.

"You dare talk back to me, boy?" Their father's voice sounded low and dangerous. His blue eyes darkening with anger and fury. "Well that's how a conversation works, dad," Victor says, knowing full well that he's on thin ice. Their father's eye twitches, clearly pissed. Before the argument could escalate, the royal adviser intervenes.

"My King," the adviser says with a bow before continuing, "The Black Kingdom has a summon for you," the adviser says. "Why the summon, Alexander?" Their father asks. "It's to talk about the marriage arrangement between Princess Violetta and Prince Blake," Alexander says. Before their father could reply, Violet says: "I will not marry that monochromatic Black," her voice ice cold.

"You do not have a say-" Violet cut her father off, "It is my life, father. Not yours," she says before turning around and off to her chambers in the palace. "That girl is much like her mother, my King," Alexander says. "Anyhow, we have a summon to accept Alex" they walk to the throne room, leaving Victor alone to train.

Meanwhile, Violet sits in her room, thinking. Wait, why did mother tell me the story about the prophecy in each kingdom? As I recall, she said that each prophecy spoke of the gems of old and one of . . . purple! Violet realized that someone in her kingdom was the one of the prophecies, the one in legends.

That night, after all in the Kingdom had fallen asleep, Violet snuck down into the room of history. Her mother had shown her how to read the ancient texts here. She knew that the prophecy of purple was in the archives section. No guards? Perfect. Violet walked in and started looking. After hours of searching, Violet finally found the prophecy. It read: A princess of Purple will have the powers of all. The powers of old will be theirs. They will be born on the day of Black Sun. When the gems of old reveal, the curse will be reversed. Wait what?!?

This must be a mistake! I'm the only princess of purple who was born on the day of black sun! Does this mean that . . . Violet's eyes widened with realization. Was she the one in legends? Was she the one who saved the day? Violet thought no, this must be a mistake. I'm just another princess who is to be married off to a prince. A stupid prince. Violet returned to her room for the night, thoughts racing faster than light.

The next weeks were a blur for Violet. Wake-up. Eat. Train. Sleep. Repeat. All she could think about was the prophecy and what it entailed. What would she do? Would she stay in her kingdom and be a normal princess or would she leave everything she knows for something she doesn't know is even about her?
