Scene: Ada & Leon – Police HQ Observation Deck
The glass overlooked the city. Rain streaked across the window in lazy trails.
Ada stood with arms folded, watching the streets below. Behind her, Leon entered silently. He didn't say anything at first.
"You could've called," he said finally.
Ada's lips quirked. "Would you have answered?"
Leon sighed, stepping beside her. "You always show up when things go sideways."
"I could say the same about you."
They stood there, letting the silence do the talking.
Leon finally asked, "Is he the reason you came back?"
Ada didn't look at him. "He's one of them."
Leon clenched his jaw. "He's reckless."
Ada turned to face him, eyes sharp. "He saves people, Leon. Just like you used to."
Leon stared at her a long time. No reply. Just a hint of pain in the corners of his eyes.
"He's a good man," she said softly.
Leon looked away. "I hope you're right. For all our sakes."
Flashback Scene: You & Seris – Then
It was years ago.
You and Seris moved through the shattered ruins of Cadellin Sector—partners on an unsanctioned mission. No one else was fast enough. Smart enough.
Or trusted enough.
You were unstoppable together. The kind of synchronicity that didn't need words.
After the mission, under the ash-streaked sky, she asked you something strange:
"If we make it out of this… would you leave all of this with me?"
You hesitated.
She looked away. "Never mind. I shouldn't have asked."
Later, when Genesis fell apart—and Zeyren offered her purpose—she went without hesitation.
And when she saw you again on the battlefield, her blade aimed for your heart…
She whispered just loud enough for only you to hear:
"You could've said yes."
