... His eyes darkened, turning into a shade of darker blue. Odd. He took a deep breath, making my brows ceased deeper. "Mate." he suddenly growled in a deep husky voice that sent shivers down my spine.

Chapter 1 - One

The female human took a deep breath to had the surroundings sank in her mind. Her ocean dark green eyes roamed around the whole place, while she undressed her bearings and put her things beside the oak wood tree.

She crouched unto her hands and knees while staring emptily at the woods in front of her. Pure white furs started to spring on her naked skin and in just a second, her body was already covered in thick white fur that anyone would envy to have. The air around her felt surreal and sweet, as her hands transformed into paws.

She turned into a wolf.

She cried in ecstasy making a low growl fell from her mouth. The ground beneath seemed to sink deep in her claws that made her mind go dizzy with freedom. As the beast took a step, her tail wagged with happiness and joy for being freed and having the reins to her body. The human and animal have came into an agreement of sharing the body.

Her tongue darted out and unconsciously licked her own long and sharp canines with so much enthusiasm that she was afraid the moment won't last. Grinning in her mind but smirking sadistically in her literal form as a wolf, she took a start and sprang out from the wild dreary forest.

The way she ran was like the wind; so free, fast, and deadly at the same time. Each step she took, a vivid imagination would play in her mind like a ruined tape recorder. The beating of her heart just added to her joy and with no precautions, her adrenaline pumped harder that sent her body into a frenzy.

As the beast's head slightly cocked to the side, her ocean dark green eyes dilated into golden slits. The background changed from being a forest, the place turned darker, greener, and livelier as life blooms every now and then. The place she ran to felt like paradise itself but there was still that dark eerie silence that shifted in her mind; banging the peace she was falling to

A loud howl ripped from her chest as she ran harder; after a few seconds, a howl came out once again, followed by another until a lot howls broke the eerie silence of the forest; howling after the moon, on the night, and for the one leading them. The beast stopped, turned around, and eyed a pack of wolves trailing after her. She sniffed the air and knew that she was at home whereas safety can be assured.

The wolves stopped and slowly, the beast lifted her right paw and silence engulfed the whole place. She eyed the moon and let out a howl making the other wolves howled after her. The beast watched the wolves as they stood their ground with respect and bowed their head to the ground to show submission. She was the dominant one and as she stared in amazement, she could not help but howl once again now that they have accepted her as their leader — as their Alpha...

I slapped the alarm clock that was buzzing so loudly and threw the pillow over my head to cover my ears to try getting back to sleep when the alarm clock kept beeping. Groaning in frustration, I threw the pillow over the wall and stood up from the bed. I picked the alarm clock from the ground and put it over the bedside table. Stretching my hands and arms, I let out a small yawn.

"Alexa..!"

I rolled my eyes and made up my bed while Eric kept on yelling my name. The door bursted open as he glared at me and took deep breaths. My eyes wandered as I clutched the sheets tighter.

My name was Alexandria Scott. A name that was craved at the back of the necklace I was clutching when Eric's parents found me on their doorsteps; cold and wailing for a loss of a Parent's touch. It was also necklace that I wore every second that made my heart glowed whenever I stared at myself in the mirror. I felt whole and complete because of it.

"I thought you're still sleeping," he stated and stared at my messy form.

 "Whatever," I snorted.

"Go take a shower quickly," he demanded, "or we will be late on your flight."

My eyebrows furrowed as I bit my lower lip, "You really want me to go, huh."

He chuckled, "Alexa, you know there's nothing I can do. You have to move on that land since that was part of the letter they tucked in beside you and dad really wants you to see for yourself what's there because he thinks that it is what's best for you."

I put my hand over my chest, "That hurts. You and dad don't want to see me anymore?"

He rolled his eyes with a small smile, "You know it won't be that bad. Maybe you can meet someone you're related to in there."

I looked down, "What if there's no one I'm blood related to in that place?"

He stood beside me and pulled me into a tight hug, "If there's none. You'll come back. Dad gives you some time to see if you'll find someone there that knows about you, your family or your past but if there's nothing to be found in that place then come back. You're welcome in our home, besides, you are my younger sis even when we are not related by blood. You'll still be family."

I blinked back the tears that were threatening to fall. Eric had always been a brother to me, we were best of friends; he would always protect me from other people that caused me pain. I would be more than glad to be with him and his family than meeting mine. If ever they were still alive.

I took a deep breath, "You really will come take me back after that time is up?"

"Yeah, you're always welcome here."

I smiled as his grip tightened. He pulled away with a beaming smile on his face.

Eric had brown hair, blue eyes and pale skin. He was handsome, but a one-woman type of guy. We were so different. One look and you can already say that we were not related.

I have blonde hair, green eyes with the hint of brown like an earthly color and a little tan skin. Natural. My height was 5'9.

"You have to pack. An hour is only left for you to arrange everything and then it's time for us to go."

I nodded my head. He smiled, turned around and walked out of my room but not before closing the door. I shook my head and looked at my bed that was not fully made yet. I took out my luggage and put the things that I needed; important stuffs. After I packed my belongings, I got in the bathroom. Took a warm shower and dried my body.

I got out and put on my off the shoulder blue blouse, black jeans and blue flat sandals. I picked up my luggage that was only one considering I was planning to buy my things when I was already there. I let out a huffed of breath and stared at my own room, trying to carved it into my memory as to remember to come back after the 'time' Dad gave to me was up.

I would miss this place, a lot. I grew up here and this was the only place I called home. One day, after everything was finally well, I would come back; I thought, closed the door, and walked out of my room.I descended from the stairs and saw Eric eating some bread from the kitchen. He grabbed the luggage from me and got out of the house.

Althea, Eric's mother, walked over and pulled me into a bone crushing hug. Ever since I grew up with them, I learned to love them as though they were my real family. No, they were my real family.

"Bye mom," I murmured.

She smiled, "I'll miss you, Alexa."

"Me too," I responded, "I love you, mom."

I closed my eyes to keep the tears that were threatening to fall and took a deep shaky breath. Come on Alexa, you can do this. It'll only be some time then you can come back. Well, that looks so long. I put my arms around her, returning the hug.

"Alexa, it's time to go!" Eric shouted outside.

I pulled away and smiled back at her. She nodded her head and whispered with teary-eyes, "Always call us."

"Don't worry, I will," I responded and walked out of the house.

Eric was waiting for me in the car, I got in and buckled my seat belt. "Ready?" he asked.

I bit my lower lip and forced a smile, "I don't think I'll ever be."

He looked at me with a sorrowful expression but smiled nonetheless. "You can do this," he uttered and started the ignition.

The ride was short, even though in reality it was really long. We were talking to each other while he was driving, laughing at the memories. For me it was just a short time and any moment now, I would be moving into a new house; new place and new environment with neither Eric nor his family behind me. I would be on my own for two years trying to find my past and family; I just hoped that I would find someone, even just one so that I could know a clue as to why they left me just like that, but I could still come back right? Right.

"We're here," He sighed.

I blinked and stared at the airport in front of us. I planted a kiss on his cheeks, got out, pulled my luggage out, and waved at him. He nodded his head and faintly smiled. I turned around and walked into the airport.

This is it, I thought.
