Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Rebirth

The battlefield was a scene of chaos and destruction. Smoke billowed into the sky, mingling with the dark clouds that loomed overhead. Kaito Nakamura stood amidst the ruins, his heart pounding as he faced the zombie boss—a grotesque figure that towered over the battlefield, its eyes glowing with a sinister light. Around him, the last remnants of humanity fought desperately against the relentless tide of undead.

Kaito's hands gripped his weapon tightly, the weight of it both familiar and comforting. He had been fighting for fifteen long years, each battle more grueling than the last. But now, as he faced the zombie boss, he felt the tide turning against them. His comrades, friends who had become like family, were falling one by one. Despair threatened to overwhelm him.

In the midst of the chaos, Kaito's mind was a storm of emotions. He fought with every ounce of strength he had left, but the enemy was relentless. Memories of his journey flashed through his mind—moments of camaraderie, laughter, and hope. Yet, intertwined with these were the regrets, the mistakes that had led them to this dire moment. If only he had been stronger, smarter, more prepared.

With a surge of determination, Kaito charged at the zombie boss, his weapon raised high. This was their last chance, their final stand. But as he closed the distance, the boss anticipated his move, striking him down with a devastating blow. Pain exploded through Kaito's body, and he fell to the ground, his vision blurring.

As he lay there, the sounds of battle fading into the distance, Kaito's mind was flooded with memories. He saw flashes of his past—moments of camaraderie, laughter, and hope. But intertwined with these were the regrets, the what-ifs that haunted him. He had failed to protect those he cared about, failed to prevent the apocalypse that had ravaged their world.

Yet, amidst the despair, a single, burning desire emerged—a yearning for a second chance. If he could only fight again, he would change everything. He would save them all.

As darkness closed in, a faint light began to envelop Kaito, warm and inviting. It was a symbol of hope, a promise of rebirth. The battlefield faded away, replaced by the distant sound of a school bell ringing.

Kaito awoke with a start, the familiar hum of a classroom surrounding him. He was back in his teenage body, seated at a desk in his high school. Confusion mingled with shock as he realized where he was. His heart raced as he looked around, taking in the familiar faces of his classmates. It was as if time had rewound, giving him a second chance.

Suddenly, the stern voice of his teacher cut through his thoughts. "Kaito! Pay attention!" she snapped, glaring at him. Caught off guard, Kaito stammered an apology, earning a round of laughter from his classmates. His friends, seated nearby, were also reprimanded, sharing in his punishment.

As the class ended, Kaito's mind was still reeling from the realization. He had six months before the zombie virus would begin its devastating spread. Six months to prepare, to change the future.

Gathering his friends after class, Kaito spoke with urgency. "I know this sounds crazy, but you have to believe me. In six months, a virus will turn the world upside down. We need to prepare."

At first, his friends laughed, thinking it was a joke. But as they saw the seriousness in Kaito's eyes, their laughter faded. "You're not joking, are you?" Aya asked, her expression turning serious.

Kaito shook his head. "I wish I were. But we have a chance to change things. We can stop it before it starts."

His friends exchanged glances, a mix of disbelief and concern on their faces. But seeing Kaito's determination, they nodded, ready to stand by him.

As they walked away, Kaito felt a renewed sense of hope. This time, he would make a difference. This time, he would save them all.
