The next day, I went to the middle of town where we were supposed to meet.
"There you are."
"Of course I'm here "
"There is a labyrinth that people need. So we will raid it." she said.
"And where is the location of the labyrinth?"
"I think…south? In the forest"
"Then that's where we are heading. "
Me and Airi went to the forest where the labyrinth was supposed to be.
"Look there is some light coming from the cave."
Me and Airi walked in the cave.
"Um, Airi you said that we need to clear it right?"
"Yeah, why?"
"...who told you to clear the cave?"
"The same person you were talking to earlier"
He came before me and he probably knows this place better than anyone.. So why does he want us to clear this dungeon if he could just do it. I thought
"Daiki is something wrong?"
"N-no, totally not!" I waved my hands in front of my face to hide my embarrassment.
After a while we started to walk deeper into the labyrinth.
"Heads up."
"Hmm?" I looked up to see a door.
Me and Airi walked up to the door and opened it. Sure enough there were monsters.
"Hmm?"
"Grrh!"
"Kill them, my brothers."
"Get ready Airi!"
" 'Kay!"
The orcs ran towards us, raising their swords.
Me and Airi took out our swords, exchanged looks and charged. I went for the first orc and sliced him on the back. Then Airi charged at the next orc who was charging towards me, and sliced him.
Things went like that and, after a while, we got to the boss chamber.
"This is where we finished our first labyrinth," I said while taking out my sword.
"Yeah."
We got inside the boss chamber.
"What the-?"
"There is no boss… "
There was no boss in this labyrinth, but why? Did other people kill the boss?
No, that can't be possible.
"Wait, what is that?!"
There was something coming out of the floor.
"Ah! A sandman!"
"N-no way."
SandMans don't usually appear in low-level dungeons. They appear in high-level dungeons!
"Sandman. Airi, Let's kill it together!"
"Okay! Let's go!"
I distract the Sandman and Airi attacks it. The Sandman had something we didn't and that was that it could shoot little Sandmans.
"What the-?"
The little sand mans were attacking us at full speed while the real one was healing part of his body.
"Airi!"
"Yes?"
"We need to take out the real one!"
Me and Airi went straight for the real one.
"Rgh!"
"Huh?"
I look beside me and see that Airi was lying on the ground with a swollen face.
"No!"
The next thing I knew was that I was pushed so hard to a wall.
Crack!
Was that the sound of the wall being broken, or my bones?
I stood up.
I won't die here!
