Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The Shadows Behind You

The hallway stretches endlessly, its dark edges disappearing into the unknown. You can feel the shadows at the corners of your vision, as though they are alive—slithering, whispering, lurking just out of sight. The air is thick with the stench of decay, and every step you take seems to reverberate in the eerie silence, reminding you that you are no longer in the safety of the world you once knew.

As your feet carry you further down the hallway, the noises grow louder. A faint tapping echoes from behind you, like fingers lightly brushing against wood. You glance over your shoulder, your heart skipping a beat as you see nothing but the endless stretch of empty darkness.

But something is there. You can feel it.

Suddenly, a cold breath brushes against the back of your neck. Your skin prickles, and you freeze, the hairs on the back of your neck standing on end. The whispers grow louder now, like voices you almost recognize, but they're distorted, twisted. A shiver runs down your spine.

"Don't turn around."

The voice is faint but sharp, sending a wave of panic through your chest. Your reflection—the one in the mirror—appears before you, stepping out of the shadows with a grin that is both familiar and terrifying.

"You shouldn't have come this far. The game is only just beginning, and you're already playing with fire."

The reflection smiles wider, and its eyes gleam with a knowing cruelty.

---

The Second Choice:

The reflection steps back, dissolving into the darkness once again. The whispering fades, and the hallway grows even colder. But now, you realize something even more terrifying: there's a door at the end of the hallway. It's old, rusted, but it might be the only way out of this strange, suffocating space.

You take a hesitant step forward, but before you can move any further, you're faced with another choice. The door may hold an answer—or something far worse. But you can't stay here forever. The reflection knows that. It's been leading you here for a reason.

Do you:

A) Open the door immediately, eager to find out what lies beyond.

B) Knock on the door first, hoping for some sign or response.

C) Turn back and run down the hallway, ignoring the door for now.

D) Stand still and wait, hoping that someone—or something—will reveal itself.

---

The Cold Reality:

Your heart races as you reach for the door, feeling the chilling cold radiating from its surface. The whispers start again, louder this time, pressing against your thoughts. It's as if the walls themselves are alive, breathing, watching. The door creaks as you slowly turn the handle, and the darkness behind it seems to deepen.

When the door finally opens, a flood of blinding light spills through, momentarily blinding you. But as your eyes adjust, the reality of what lies on the other side takes shape.

A room. A small, sterile space that feels both familiar and alien at once. It's as if someone has taken your deepest memories and twisted them into something wrong, something cold. There's a desk with papers scattered across it, a chair that seems to have been recently occupied, and a mirror hanging on the wall—another one, the same as the first.

The mirror reflects you. But something is wrong. Your reflection doesn't move.

It stares at you.

---

Quiz 3:

As you step into the room, the mirror begins to change, its reflection distorting, shifting in a way that makes you feel like you're losing your grip on reality. The room grows darker, the shadows crawling across the walls.

But there's a question. One more quiz you must answer before you can proceed.

You now have the option to interact with the mirror or avoid it altogether. What do you do?

A) Approach the mirror, determined to face your reflection head-on.

B) Touch the papers on the desk, hoping they will reveal something about this place.

C) Look for an exit or any other way out of the room, ignoring the mirror completely.

D) Sit in the chair, hoping to gain some clarity, to think your way out.

End of Chapter 3

---

The mirror watches you, unblinking, as you stand there, trying to make sense of it all. The reflection you thought you understood is slipping away, and the game is tightening its grip around you. The questions will only get harder from here. Each choice, each quiz, will drive you deeper into the maze of your own mind.
