Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Sephiroth Template

"His father has been arrested. If we keep him here, we'll all be implicated!"

"But his father founded the organization. He purchased this manor secretly. It's his family's property."

"This is the organization's headquarters! The moment his father designated this place as our base of operations, it ceased to be his family's property!"

"I think we should send him away. Even though his mutant powers haven't manifested yet, his father's arrest must have exposed his status as a mutant."

"We can't risk everyone being discovered. I vote we send him away!"

"Agreed. At most, I'll provide him with some money and a car."

"His father wouldn't want to see the organization destroyed because of his son. Let's vote!"

...

Richard stirred at the sound of voices filtering through his door. He awakened slowly, opening his eyes with an irritated expression crossing his face.

He'd been sleeping soundly before being rudely awakened. It would be strange if he wasn't annoyed.

Just as he was about to get up and see what his dormmates were discussing, he noticed something wrong.

This quilt. This bed. This room...

Where was he?

Wasn't he supposed to be in his school dormitory?

Staring at the completely unfamiliar bedroom surrounding him, Richard's face contorted with confusion and bewilderment.

As he attempted to rise and investigate his surroundings, a splitting headache struck without warning. He instinctively clutched his head, his body trembling uncontrollably.

Damn it!

What's happening?!

The sudden, intense pain made him experience agony unlike anything he'd ever known.

Simultaneously, his mind flooded with memories that weren't his own, flashing before his eyes like slides in a rapid presentation.

When the foreign memories finally stopped cycling through his consciousness, the severe headache vanished just as abruptly as it had appeared.

Richard sat on the bed, gasping for breath, his expression darkening as understanding dawned.

Though the memories weren't his, after being forced to absorb them, he finally understood what had happened.

Transmigration.

To be precise, he had transmigrated into a mutant named Richard Wesley in the Marvel Universe—not the MCU, according to the memories, but the main comic universe.

As an ordinary college student from a comfortable middle-class family, he was familiar with the concept of transmigration. After all, he'd read countless fanfiction stories about it.

But he never imagined he would become a transmigrator himself, transported to the Marvel world and granted the status of a mutant.

Calm down.

Stay calm.

It's just transmigration, not an encounter with Thanos. No need to panic...

It's just a small matter—a very ordinary, common occurrence that many protagonists in stories experience...

Richard tried to reassure himself, working to steady his nerves.

Though he was undoubtedly a rookie transmigrator, he had read hundreds of fanfiction novels featuring characters in similar situations. With so many examples of transmigrators who had achieved greatness in their new lives, he not only quickly accepted his circumstances but began to look forward to the possibilities ahead.

After regaining his composure, he instinctively began searching for his "golden finger"—the special power or system that all transmigrators seemed to receive.

As common knowledge dictated, transmigrators always received some form of advantage. Though each transmigrator's golden finger differed, the Transmigration God treated everyone with a certain equality.

The moment the thought of finding his special power formed in his mind, a holographic attribute panel materialized before him:

As the system panel appeared, relevant information flooded his mind. Soon, he understood what kind of system he possessed.

A Template System!

A system that allowed him to obtain the abilities of characters by loading different templates! Even more impressively, he could use multiple templates simultaneously, wielding the powers of several characters at once.

Though he didn't know what templates he might acquire next, Richard already anticipated his future possibilities. If Sephiroth was his first template, surely the ones to follow would be equally impressive.

Richard was no stranger to Sephiroth. Anyone familiar with "Final Fantasy VII" would recognize the name. As the primary antagonist of the game, Sephiroth's popularity and reputation often eclipsed even the protagonist, Cloud.

That said, when compared to Tifa, the "Holy Grail of 3D Gaming," Sephiroth's fame still fell short. That was Tifa for you! Just that statement alone demonstrated her status and importance in the gaming world.

Though he might lose to Tifa in terms of recognition, this didn't diminish Sephiroth's standing among the ultimate villains of the Final Fantasy franchise.

After reviewing the system information, Richard dismissed the attribute panel that only he could see.

Rather than getting up immediately, he raised his left hand and began to summon his exclusive equipment, "Masamune," following the system's instructions.

Though his dominant hand was his right, Sephiroth's was his left. To improve template fusion, Richard decided to summon Masamune with his left hand.

With a flash of pale green light, Sephiroth's iconic weapon materialized in his grasp.

It was indeed impressively long! The Masamune was a legendary, impossibly elongated katana wielded by Sephiroth, the iconic antagonist of Final Fantasy VII. As much a symbol as a weapon, it reflected Sephiroth's overwhelming presence—elegant, precise, and terrifyingly powerful.

After summoning Masamune, Richard's first impression confirmed the legends—this sword was extraordinarily long.

Though Square Enix had never specified Masamune's exact length, it was widely recognized as far exceeding the dimensions of an average katana. The version Richard now held matched its appearance in "Advent Children," measuring about eight feet in length.

The handle stretched between 15-20 inches, while the blade's width was barely over an inch. As for thickness, it measured only a few millimeters.

From a distance, the silver-white blade resembled nothing more than a gleaming thread of light.

In his past life, Richard would never have claimed proficiency with a sword exceeding six feet in length. Even an ordinary katana would have been beyond his skill level.

Now, however, as he summoned the blade and gripped its handle, an innate sense of familiarity washed over him.

Without hesitation, he rose and began moving through forms in the bedroom.

Though the original Richard's father wasn't as wealthy as Bruce Wayne, the manor's main building rivaled Wayne Manor in magnificence. As the only son, Richard's bedroom was the second largest room after the master bedroom, spanning 60-70 square meters with a ceiling height of about 16 feet.

Despite the various pieces of furniture, the room provided ample space for him to wield Masamune.

Vertical slash, horizontal cut, diagonal strike, direct thrust, upward swing...

Though these were simple movements, as he executed them, they took on an almost artistic quality.

After practicing basic maneuvers, Richard decisively attempted Sephiroth's signature technique: Octoslash!

In a fluid sequence, he unleashed eight precise slashes, each flowing seamlessly into the next.

"Octoslash Proficiency +1"

The system's notification immediately echoed in his mind
